Isoblocker: block ISOs and CSOs from your PSP

DesireDevTeam member 2.6,CRACKED! has released an interesting app for all those people who share their PSPs with ISO users. It's called Isoblocker, and automates the job of finding and removing ISO and CSO files for you.

As 2.6,CRACKED! explains, Isoblocker is a plugin that'll search for and delete ISO and CSO files from one's PSP automatically. The situations in which one would use the plugin are somewhat limited, but if a situation does demand the removal of an ISO or CSO file from your PSP (such as when you share a PSP with an ISO user), then this little plugin will certainly do the trick for you.

In any case, if you're happen to want to keep an ISO-free PSP, this seems like the plugin you should be using to purge your PSP. Enjoy!

Think for awhile, you see that this application is useless. "yes..even more usless than a hello world homebrew"

There is no way... that people would share psp even if they are friends.

Let say "IF" they do share, the friend won't mind..and you won't mind too if they put iso on your psp because they are friends.

The only reason why you have iso block because the custom firmware can play iso that mean the use MUST be using ISO. Therefore this homebrew plugin is useless.

Last but not least, if the owner hate iso that much..then he will never download an ISO ...therefore will not not need this plugin..and what I am about to say next might shock your brain...

the OWNER's Friend or people who he share WILL NOT .. I REPEAT will not buy UMD game to play on a share psp, also I repeat also will not DOWNLOAD..iso to play on a share psp.

"IF the owner hate ISO so bad..that he know (yes it's so obvious if the game is bought or not) that..the friend is Downloading iso..into his psp and he 100% hate ..iso then he won't let...him/her borrow it.

So to conclude, this is the worst ..idea in the homebrew psp world.

(I don't mean to be a basher / flamer ) but ..I just want you to contribute something good to the psp scene.

To other people, I don't want to here you people saying I can't code for *****.. I maybe can't code but I know what is usless and what is not...

I am not some idiot who flame on "calculator" app or super lame homebrew game..

cuz honestly who the hell borrow a psp to play isos on it that arent already put in by you, and then deletes all of the isos off the thing. Id personally be kinda pissed off.

Unless they have their own memory stick, but why the hell would you have a memory stick duo with isos on it and no psp.

Is tons more usefull than this, with Hello World you can test an exploit and then make a CFW or a Downgrader.

What can you do with this? Delete and block an ISO or CSO? that real usefull.

Why the hell else would you install a CFW if not for ISO's?

Yeah this is a total waste of time, the only reason to install custom firmware is for playing pirated games, any user that is that worried about having pirated software on their system would leave their PSP at official Sony 1.50 for homebrew. CFW is popular because of piracy and nothing else, the only other use I could think of for CFW is the extended video formats usable. Don't give me any ***** about remoteplay, web browser or music visualizations, they are useless features/bribes from sony to tempt you to upgrade. And if piracy was never made available they wouldn't block you from newer games on older firmwares.

Keep in mind I love ISO loading since the majority of PSP games are ***** and demos come out for only very few, I like to try game for a few weeks before I'm willing to buy them. I do own 9 UMD games and play about 5-6 ISOs regularly enough to warrant buying them. Once these games drop to an affordable price (2nd hand ok, about AU$30-40) I WILL buy these games eventually. But VG prices are too high to buy a game without trying it first, since a lot of them either have ***** gameplay or are just not as good as the box made them seem.

ALSO sony should support ISO loading (encrypted of course) natively because some games offer "PROMO/DEMO" UMDs. These are limited in number but everyone should be able to have them. So I SHOULD be allowed to go and copy my friends demo UMD so I can trial it myself.

I've made a new plugin that can melt the circuit board of my psp! It so easy to use because you don't even have to install it or download it. Most people already have it. Its called a microwave. Its more useful than this app too, because it actually does something. And as an added bonus you have the knowledge that no-one will ever use ISOs on your psp!

Seriously though. wth? If you hate ISOs so much you'd never have them on your PSP, and if someone else put them there when you aren't looking its easier to just delete them manually than install a plugin. Somehow I think this was made just to stir everybody up. It worked, this is stupid.

Sith_Lord how am i a hipocrit. I practice what i preach. Tell me a legal way I can test every game before I buy them, shops won't let me play them in store for an hour or so to test the gameplay. I want to know what i'm getting. Yes PSP has a lot of good games, but there is also a lot if sh.it out there.

I never said CFW was for pirating games. You may say you need to run newer firmware for newer games, if piracy never existed they wouldn't require you to update to force security patches on you.

Also homebrew inevitably leads to piracy there is no way around this.

Any user that has dicovered custom firmware is also 100% aware that they are able to play games for free. If you tell me you have 0 isos then you are a liar, its simply too easy/tempting to play games for free.

If you don't buy games then developers won't continue to make them, so it is necessary to purchase them. But when I do so is my own choice.

There is at least one use for this app. If you're on the train playing an ISO/CSO (God forbid) on your CFW PSP and Mr. Sony and Mr. Sony's Cronies (see that there, I'm a poet) see you playing a game but don't hear that distinctive click-whirr-click of the UMD drive, they might realise you're playing pirated games. Then they could discreetly report you to the conductor, who will ring ahead to the next train station and arrange for a squad car to be there waiting for you. When you spot the assembled cops eyeing you up as the train wheels to a stop, you quickly exit the ISO and run the nifty ISO deleter application. Then all Mr. Sony's cronies will find on your PSP is that it is running a custom firmware. You avoid prosecution. Mr. Sony gets a red face and a telling off for wasting police time. You give them a big cheesy grin and say you are considering suing them for the embarassment caused and so on. Then you toddle off back home to reload the ISO/CSO's to your Pro Duo from your backups.

Alternatively, you can remove the memory card and eat it.

There are lots of good games worth buying.

MGS:PO - Great game with lots of playtime ahead of you. Has online play also.

GTA: LA, VCS - Both great games. They are just as good as the console versions. Your sure to get your money worth out of a GTA game.

Burnout Dominator - This is the best racing game for psp and has good graphics on all the cars and environments. Has downloadable tracks also.

There are many more but I don't have all day to type them.

To make a somewhat usefull app why not make a plugin that just hides the iso/cso from your xmb instead of deleting them.

Next update will have a surpize in it that we got an idea how to work this out.Cfw users we are planning on to leave psp1 without updates so u have to buy psp2 if u want to keep updates coming and play the latest games out there.Its your own fault and let the first psp die even if you dont agree with me,look around you;what would you do after 3.51?3.60 will have a special security in it that will check for motherboard before upgrading your psp so theres no way around it.We won,period.

It seems the only good use I can see for this is, if the FBI or some corp. come knocking on your door, and you are playing ISO's when you answer it, i suppose theres a really quick way to delete them.

I 'm not going to say this program is useless, because obviously its not it does have a use and it actually performs something.. which i might add is more than i could do. So cograts for your effort and time. But i do believe you should direct your time in something that you will get better feedback with such as a prx that detects Sony officials to use in conjunction with your ISO deleter. That being said. If you were to delete all your isos... in case of authority interference, wouldnt there still be a heap of savedata files left on your stick.. cuz i dont know about yall but i never delete my save files for some odd reason, even after the iso is long gone.
