iR Shell v1.2 Released |
Ó
Version 1.2
AdHoc WiFi File Transfer Added:
- To use AdHoc WiFi file transfer, go to directory view and highlight the file or directory you'll want to send. Then, press Left Trigger + Cross and follow the on-screen instructions.
- You can choose a single file or a single directory to transfer. Please pay attention when you choose a single directory as it'll send over all files & subdirectories under it.
- The file transfer protocol currently has no error recovery. If one of the PSP loses sync, you'll need to hit Square button to abort the transfer and restart the whole thing again.
- The file transfer throughput isn't that great at the moment and is around 90KB/sec when the receiving side has a Sandisk MS. It will drop down to 3XKB/sec when the receiving PSP has a Sony MS. This is just another way to prove the slow write access on Sony MS.
- The PSP WiFi system modules are loaded into user space. As a result, you may encounter some compatibility issues when playing certain UMD games while doing file transfer simultaneously.
- File transfer progress & estimated time display.
Special thanks to StoneCut and Triable for doing an extensive beta testing with 4 PSPs and also reporting on the Sony MS crappy access time, and to our gfx artist Skydew for providing the new icon & background.
Thanks for the email heads-up, Triable!

as always stickin it to tha man. Great job, this app just keep getting better and better. MUCH LOVE to IRSHELL
I'm just curious (wheteher the author reads this or not) to whether there will be a feature included in this, which will allow you to point a remote contol at the psp, press a button on the remote, and the PSP will record the 'IR Code', and save it to a file This is because when I'm using codes off the net, 95% of them don't work... I'd would like (and I'm sure others will too) to see this feature incorporated somehow into this program It's a great program, and hope that future development goes well! That was just one feature I was suggesting, I'm not complaining about the program itself! Kudos from WDUK! =)
Can you take screenshots with this program on a psp woth 2.0 fw?
I do not think, I KNOW, that this has to be the most powerful and likely finest shell available at the current moment and one that at the moment you DON'T have to pay a premium membership for. I know the author, Ahman, is getting frustrated though when the lack of support through donations he has recieved (check forums) and wishes for more support as he is seriously considering charging for membership to recieve the latest updates on IRShell. Come on people, this is something that I would pay for (wireless transfer p2p and mp3 playlists in games and homebrew!?). Please show your support if it is only in a small amount at http://ahman.dyndns.org/contact.html. Any amount will help.
Can I add my request to that of WDUK, I have spent two weeks trying everything under the sun to get working codes for 8 devices, I even tried the PSP Ir capture homebrew but the capture looks nothing like the LIRC or RDF codes to try and convert it. I was amazed to find that there are no PC programs to simple capture a laptop IRda port either. Respect to IRSHELL awesome app, much appreciated.

Apparently there is a way to capture new codes if you have a palm PC type device...
Ahman u deserve credit as much as MPH.. this program is the most powerfull shell out there and i just like to say thank u so much for the program... this program is the best shell u can ever have.. it's the all in one :D ohh i almost forgot.. a j peg viewer is all thats needed and it's close to perfect other then the wifi u stated that needs to be uped on... thanks again!!
how the hell do you run this this does run on the 2.6 eloader correct? i exracted it and there is IRSHELL% and IRSHELL I tried putting each one in the game folder but it wont run? am i missing something here??
Anybody know the speed of the IR port on the PSP. I read that Sony intends to use the port to stream video to the PSP, which would only make sense if the port was faster than WIFI b. VFIR is 16Mbps so it would be faster than WIFI b which is 2.5-4.0 Mbps(real world). But if it's only FIR(4Mbps) it would be kind of pointless.
