iR Shell 3.61 updated with a maintenance release - Image 1

Developer Stonecut has sent us an e-mail that AhMan has rolled out a maintenance release for iR Shell 3.61. This release solves a few of the errors that users encountered when using the original build.

The bug fixes in this release include the autoboot plug-in problem which some some configurations experienced as well as the issue with nethostfs crashing when the PSP fails to connect to the server. In addition to this, there are a few other fixes that were implemented:
  • Fixed screen corruption while changing CPU speed in PS1 games.
  • Retained the overclock speed after exiting game/app while nethostfs is active.
  • Fixed adhoc PC nethostfs connection problem. You no longer need to mess with the wlan switch.
  • The MP3 will now resume at the exact position when switching firmware versions (1.5 iR Shell to 3.x iR Shell, or vice versa).
Special thanks:
  • Dark_AleX for his previous contributions & help in iR Shell development. We hope you enjoyed hacking the PSP. Happy retirement and we wish you best of luck for your future endeavors.
  • Team M33 for continuing DA's work and their help in fixing M33 firmware compatibility issues with iR Shell.
  • All iR Shell private forum and unofficial forum members for their contributions, including donations, testing, skin making, plugins, etc.
If you plan on using this, the developer gave word that a previous installation of iR Shell 3.6 is required for the update to work. So if you're using iR Shell, download this program. Don't forget to read the installation instructions as well as release notes to avoid any untoward incidents when using this update.

in the 3.5x kernel, if you enable the password on startup, you can just press select and the password thing dissapears and you can just use irshell. kinda annoying, since the feature doesnt work

» Um, thanks but ...

Many thanks for the news QJ, but I'm still not the developer of iR Shell. AhMan is and always was the developer. I just forward the news to you as sort of a spokesperson if you wish.

I'm not sure if IR shell even supports 3.40 OE by Dark_Alex... but when I hit launch XMB it just goes black and freezes... the only way I can get to XMB is if i exit IR Shell (I have IR shell on auto-boot, so I can get right to the good stuff)

Other than that everything seems to work perfectly... I haven't gotten usbhost or nethost to work yet, but that may either be that I'm on vista, or I just can't figure it out.

To make it so I can launch XMB while in IR Shell, would I have to install devhook? Or maybe would you suggest I downgrade?

» Entertaining

The best thing I like to do with this app is go to Wal-Mart and start turning off the T.V.s and changing channels in the electronics section. The results are hilarious!

» GAME340 folder

what custom firmware are you on? if you're on 3.40 oe create a GAME340 folder and stick the irshell3x folder in GAME352 into there and it should work fine.

» Ok

Whats all the cool stuff you can do with IRShell?

What kind of stuff can you do with Nethost.

I have yet to have any kind of luck getting Nethost

to work for playing homebrew and or streaming it

to my PC's monitor.

I am of course very interested in what the

community has been able to pull off so far,

using IRShell and Nethost.

I use yahoo so email me at Darsideous...

I'd love to speak with people about they have

been able to accomplish using Nethost w/IRShell.

Look forward to hearing from anybody.

Thanks

» T.V.s

Mess with store's and other people's T.V.s. Try standing next to someone in a store that's looking at a T.V. and then turning it off with your PSP. It's funny as hell.

» nethost?

the first nethost program i used was the one that came wit PSPHost..and wen i first used it, it worked..but now, wen i connect it says the accepting/adding stuff but after that it says Unknown command [0] sock [4] 0x00DA5813....and wen i use the normal nethostfs...it shows the accepting/adding stuff too like its supposed to but on psp it jus shows the "Initiatin WiFi, pls wait" screen...i waited for like 20 min once but nothin changed...its not frozen, it jus doesnt go away until i close nethostfs then it immediately says "error cannot connect to network"....n e suggestions

by sinX - 2007-08-05 16:58
» @jolan

Well, yes and no. You need to launch XMB within iR Shell so, the only advantage with ir is with net and usbhost redirection enabling you to stream .mp4s from your PC to watch via Sony XMB.

» Themes \ skins

I am sorry if I sound stupid.

I have two questions.

1 - Can I use skins \ themes from 3.1 to 3.6/61 ?

2 - Where can I find that nice skin on the thumbnail?

ps. the Vista skin misses an icon for muting.

Thanks
