HostCore 1.0 - 'bridge' your PC's contents to your PSP |

Many hardcore PlayStation Portable owners enjoy turning their handhelds into virtual extensions of their PCs. To help these enthusiasts out, homebrew developer Poison was able to devise a module which "bridges" your PC contents to your PSP with HostCore 1.0.By synching the two devices, you can browse through your PC's contents for music, games, and video directly from the XMB. This can be done either through a USB connection or even through an AdHoc wireless connection through a Wi-Fi router.
To give you a better idea of the different features of HostCore 1.0, here's a short list of its capabilities:
1.0:
- play ISO/CSO games in Normal mode(need UMD) via wifi.
- no UMD mode support.
- play media files locate in PC via USB.
- play ISO/CSO games in Normal mode(need UMD) via USB.
- fix bug #0003(show double items of the same file in XMB menu)
- fix bug #0001(photo show as corrupted data)
- access photos locate in PC via Wifi.
- fix bug #0004(crash on photo slideshow)
- fix bug #0002(wrong metadata)
- play video via Wifi.
- fix bug #0005(crash on video playing)
- add a mini UI to switch USBHost/NetHost on.
- fix bug #0006(icon corrupted up).
- add a config file to store setting.
After copying the entire HostCore folder into your memory stick, make sure you change the values found in the conf.txt file to match the appropriate directory structure found on the hosting PC. Will give it a try. Would be good to not have to load videos directly to the memstick. I've got 3 4Gb cards, & it's still a chore to move files through USB to the PSP(quite slow), using a card reader helps... but not by much.
I have a slim with 3.90 m33-3 and when i start it on the PSP, it shows off, when i switch it to wifi and start it, the PSP locks up and crashes...
any ideas?
It's all in the conf.txt if it does'nt work.
you must have your ip from your own PC
and if you have a password on your router then you must here fill your pass.
# NetHostFs password
Password "HERE"
And here your PC IP
# Target PC IP
IP "HERE"
And then if its corect RESTART your PSP
Ok... it works on my Mac via WiFi and the music from my Mac is on the PSP availble. But what about my pics and ISOs? How can I use them on my PSP via WiFi? What do I have to write to the conf.txt?

I did EVERYTHING u said, u told me to change the PC IP while is the PC's IP address right?
if it is, then i dont know what else to do...
It says to make a folder resembling the root folder of the psp, but where should you put it on the computer, and what should you label it so it can find it?
i got it to connect to my PC with the nethostfs.exe saying:
accepting new connection from: 192.168.1.70
but after it says that, the PSP instantly hangs...

How'd you get it to say that? I can't even get that much, so far.
I cant help if I cant get it to work myself...
It connected without hanging, it showed on my PC it was connected
but, once I connect, the PSP's Wlan shuts off and doesnt stay connected

it wont connect anymore, and after the second try, it hangs...
after you changed the conf.txt you MUST restart you psp
and you must name you map on the PC just as the root of you MS
So: ISO
MUSIC
PICTURE
Etc.
dont forget that, in windows at least, where you start Nethost or usbhost from is your root folder ie. if started from c:\psp\ then your on the psp you can only access media past c:\psp
so would lokk kinda like this is started like in above example
c:\psp = ms0:/
c:\psp\iso = ms0:/iso
c:\psp\music = ms0:/music
best bet would be to make a folder on the PC then copy a freshly psp formated memstick to that folder, that way the file structure is exactly right

reverse the foward slash after c:
so c:psp is c:/psp/
c:pspiso is c:/psp/iso
c:pspmusic is c:/psp/music
its STILL hanging when I connect
How do I get it to start? I followed the install instructions and edited my config & vsh files, restarted to enable the plugin. I only changed the computer IP address in the config file. I then made a psp folder on my C: drive then added folders in that folder for videos, music and pictures. What's my next step? TIA
The only reason I have left at this point to use iRShell is the option to load UMD VIDEO ISO via WiFi (UMD Needed).
The changelog in this program says it has the ability to stream video via WiFI...
But does this mean you kan select MP4's located on your PC and watch them on your PSP, of can I stream UMD VIDEO ?!?!

I am also having trouble with the nethost. It keeps crashing. On the computer It never shows that a psp is even trying to connect. I have double and triple checked the config.txt and even changed the password several times. I think that it is because of wpa encryption. Has anybody tried using wpa and succeeded?
