PSP homebrew developer Poison_xtreamlua dropped by the QJ.NET Forums earlier to announce the release of Heavy Downloader. This release is an improved version of the File Downloader application that was released earlier.

Heavy Downloader will enable users to download multiple files from multiple urls at once. Before you get started on using heavy downloader, however, take note of these important issues (quoting Poison_xtreamlua's post):
  • If the url is not correct (ex : http://gfdhgur.net/bloodbath.tg), it freeze the PSP.
  • Other information :
    • Url from host such rapidshare or megaupload (etc..) don't work , but please, if somebody know how to reached the real url of a rapidshare or megaupload file, please MP.
    • I don't know if file from ftp can be downloaded, I haven't tested.
Be sure to open up the readme included in the file bundle - most of the info you need should be there. You can also opt to drop by Poison_xtreamlua's Heavy Downloader thread over at the QJ.NET Forums.

It would, but however, it would not really be possible, because if u could get RS direct link then their entire system would pointless

Browser

I could've sworn the built in PSP browser can download files like any other browser.

I believe SendSpace might work to an extent...

If you copy the link over to the PSP fast, it might just work.

it would be a great idea

if Heavy downloader would allow to open http files in the ms0. Just an idea :) You know instead of typing it because it takes along time to type URL's on the PSP

Ah, much better!

Heh, this is way better than the old version! Hopefully that nasty crash bug will be fixed soon :)

Not bad.

Sure beats leaving your 40 watt PC on all night. XD It might need a feature to pause the download and let the battery recharge if attached to a charger, every 2 hours. The psp wont charge when WiFi is on. XD

it would be cool if...

he made this a prx plugin and it took the current url in the psp's browser and downloaded it so you could playu a game while it was downloading.

...

that would be cool although performace probably would be affected since its using up resources for wifi, memory, and the ms.

I wonder...

Would anybady be able to make, say, a torrent downloader? It would be very useful for those who want to load absolutely huge files and their connection was too slow/unstable to download files without stopping, or for people who want to download lots of files at night. It doesn't need an uploading feature, cause most wireless nets are far too slow for that. Any lone coders out there wanna try this? I would myself, but I'm not experienced with coding enough to make this sort of program.

I FOUND A WAY..

I FOUND A WAY TO MAKE MEGAUPLOAD DOWNLOADS WORK! Click on the URL and wait the required amount of seconds.. Then right click on 'Free Download' and click 'Copy Shortcut'. Then paste it in the url.ini file. A cool thing is to make a 'DOWNLOADS' folder in the ROOT of the memory stick and put that as the output. I also found an error. When you plug the charger in while it is downloading, It will interupt the download. ;) Not quite sure bout the others, Cause i don't use em! Hope this comes in handyful for all of you's!
