Hold+ v2.63 - Image 1Homebrew developer Torch has come out with a new version of his Hold+ homebrew, bringing us to Hold+ version 2.63. For those who haven't heard of it, Hold+ is a power-saving plugin for your Sony PSP that seeks to extend the battery life of the handheld by shutting or throttling down unneeded functions.

Here's the change that comes with version 2.63:
  • Fixed a bug where turning off the Hold switch very fast (less than 100ms) to the Power position would cause the PSP to enter standby.
As always, we suggest you check the readme included in the download before using the plugin on your PSP.

Hi Torch,

thanks for the continued update to the HOLD prx, i use it every day listening to music in the train. i was just wondering if you think there could ever be any problems with using this prx over time? i dont know much about the innner workings of the psp or CPU, but does changing the clock speed to 61 mhz and back fairly often damage it over time?

i have noticed that i cannot play some of my .wma files without skipping and stuttering (encoded at 192 kbps though)

that is my only question, other than that, thanks again :)

i thought i was kinda good at hitting switches and stuff. . . but just knowing that there is someone out there that can hit that switch from the hold position to the power position in less than 100 ms kinda makes me want to quit life. . .

i appreciate the support for this homebrew as i think its one of the best

(i can literally listen to music nonstop for 12 hours without the battery indicator changing at all.(phat psp, original battery))

but i dont think ill be using this upgrade. . . if i had the kungfu to hit that switch that fast id appreciate that extra functionality. . . its kinda not a bug. . .

» 100 ms...

Is there a program to test how quick you are at doing it?

Great potential to some sort of competition...
