Hen C AutoExec mod v0.32 |
Ó

After the whole SoftDown ordeal, we got a bit worried about 0okm. Some of you guys commented that he was "ghey", and others had believed that he was pulling off a scam. Talk about some major damage to his reputation. As far as we know, he's a reputable guy and also deserves some respect as much as you and me. Good thing 0okm isn't in hiding after all. He's back with a bang-bang-biggity-boom to execute Hen C automatically.
Now before anything else, of course, you must make sure that you have Dark_AleX's Homebrew Enabler for FW 2.71 (Revision C). Without it, obviously, there's nothing to auto-run. Also, you shouldn't use this on any other version. 0okm also warns us that this program may BRICK your PSP, so use it at your own risk.
Here's how to install the mod:
- Enable PSP Wallpaper
- PowerOff PSP (Hold the "power switch" in the up position for more than 2 seconds until "power indicator" turns off)
- PowerOn PSP
- Run "AutoExec Hen_C Installer", select install AutoExec
- PowerOff PSP (Hold the "power switch" in the up position for more than 2 seconds until "power indicator" turns off)
- PowerOn PSP
- PSP will AutoExec Hen C (screen will "flash red" then "blue") - if you don't like "flash red" you can patch it
UPDATE: We have added the file which contains the patch for this mod which gets rid of the red and blue flashing screens. Again, we cannot stress enough that caution must be taken when installing things like this into your PSP.

Then you ought to be able to unbrick your PSP by just removing the memory stick.
I've seen a few problems with similar techniques, where they just stopped working - at which point, I'd have had a brick without fonthack or Undiluted Platinum.

So, if this thing suddenly starts crashing on bootup, you can pull your memory stick out and it'll say your font file is corrupt and replace your font file with a clean one while wiping your wallpaper clean so this auto-boot is no longer in the background.
Safest thing to do, only takes a couple minutes, and you can get a cooler font for your PSP if you feel like it. The hex edits are pretty easy too, simply replacing the location of a font file to a different location. Remember to read the readme's that come with fontmod.
Good work 0okm, after what happened a couple weeks ago I'm glad to see you didn't let it affect you.
