The time has finally arrived. After thousands of GTA gamers waited in silence after yesterdays 'It's coming' post, cheat device">Edison Carter has gone all out and released the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories Cheat Device for PSP (thanks for the tip Clordio!). The GTA Vice City Stories cheat device helps you along the way in cheating your game, and according to Edison, this version also includes all of the Cheat Maker except for construction mode, with a few of the in-built cheats enabled. This cheat device comes as a PRX install for all DevHook users. All you have to do is run the installer (thanks to ADePSP) and you're off. Please note that it is also possible to flash this to Dark_Alex SE firmwares, although this is not recommended and you will have to figure out how to do so yourself.
So what does the GTA VCS Cheat Device version 2.0 feature? Lets take a look:
- Step Through Walls
- Power Jump
- Screenshot
- Video Recorder
- Step Up/Down
- Inf Health & Armor
- Set Time
- Vehicle Spawns*
IMPORTANT NOTE: After installing, wait at least 30 seconds before turning off USB or pulling out your memory stick. The PC caches your changes and doesn't write them out until a while later. If your memory card gets corrupt, use chkdsk /f X:. I advise against saving your game after using cheats. Please note that when you spawn vehicles, you are using a game cheat that will lower your criminal rating!

UPDATE: The hard working Edison Carter has released a new version of the VCS Cheat Device, updating it to version 2.0a today. This update adds the ability to teleport to 25 locations, with far more to come in future. As soon as Edison gets all the missions sorted out you can expect the teleportation range to grow, as the east island is a little scarce at the moment. Find the updated download below! (BTW, thanks Hit for the heads up!)

Gotta love it, I'll be trying it out.
I just flashed this to my 2.71 SE-B". It works perfectly except for 2 things: 1) No home button. 2) No Sound??? I also have the LCS cheat device in the flash :-)

PSP Rocks DS Sucks Simple as that
here is a guick and dirty way to flash prx file to your 2.71 se-b psp. i ahve done so with many prx's many times and there has not been a single brick reported as of yet. you can ony have one activated at a time currently tho. remember to rename .prx to either oc_111.prx, oc_300.prx or oc_333.prx http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=529578#p529578
wat will happen with us on 2.8 is dere a way to play it on 2.8 without updating cause btw locopoco homebrew is here to stay and if u dnt like it u can suk all of our diks and kiss all of our asses wow its like a big psp family on qj
So am i suppose to run devhook 2.71 on my psp version 2.71 se-b'' and then emulate 2.xx-2.00 along with the other settings?? Also do i have to go to recovery menu to change the 2.71 kernel to 1.50 or something?
how to i make it work? after i ran the installer, i loaded the game and i tried up+L1 but it doesnt work.

Guys im soon getting a 1.5 psp for £110, but i dont know what to put on it or what to do with it, help me. I got my 1.5 from gadget-crazy.co.uk.
onces you turn on the code... u can't use the home button and u cant cant cant save unless u unload the code...
Grrr i was so excited about this, I downloaded it, Plugged my PSP into my computer, Done the install, I then booted my devhook launcher/VSHEX Mod and as soon as i tryied to load the ISO for GTA:VCS or any other ISO/CSO for that matter it just loaded a blank XMB Just showing the background, The exact same thing happened when i tryied to install the cheatdevice for LCS aswell. Please Help! ~ Elliott
I have the same problem, and it works fine when you take PRX out of pspbtcnf_game text file. Anyone know why?

Just paste these into it and scroll all the way to the place where it says file:
in the cheat device once you load up VCS on the psp. Then you can go anywhere. Turn on the view co-ordinates to make your own list. I just though peeps would like a werking heli to fly in.

i have flashed it to my SE-B'' and I use the ISO, and now when i try to run the ISo it does the gameboot and then freezes.. after i remove the flashed mod, it runs perfectly again.. can ne 1 help?
This happend to me also, make sure you only put the "ms0:dh/kd/vcsCheatdevice.prx pr whatever in the GAMEcfg file not the regular one in the kd folder of the flash
I hope allot of you actually bought VSC, and aren't just freeloading. The psp's homebrew scene is definitely awesome probably one of the best, but using it to leech will not only kill the scene but the psp itself. Then that DS fanboy would have something to talk about... lets not do that... lets not give him, and all the other fanboys that chance. *starts a slow clap* anyone? lol No but seriously at some point do buy the game. Help keep the psp alive, and kicking.

I have tried and tried but i cant build an empire. I did matis missions and when i blow up the car nothing happens. I cant go inside, i kill any gangmembers cos there arnt any! Hellp please.
how come every time you spawn a vehicle that flys like an air plane or helicopter you can get in it but it wont go up and fly

I installed Cheat Device 2.0a, and DevHook 0.44. When I try to open DevHook it keeps saying. Corrupted File. Please help, I am new to this stuff. Mo Dawg
