An editor from Belgian PSP site PSPwereld dropped us an email regarding a homebrew application created by one of its members SparkyPSP. It's about the accessory Go! Cam, a PSP add-on that hasn't arrived yet in this part of the globe. Apparently, the said camera makes a weird and loud sound whenever the an owner takes a picture. The homebrew developer now edited the "camera_plugin.rco" file so that the camera no longer produces that irritating sound.
Don't ask us why would anyone want a silent camera on their PSP because we're already thinking of a hundred and one fun ways to fully utilize this...should we get our own Go! Cam.
So if there's someone among you who has a Go! Cam, or Chotto Shot, or whatever you may want to call it, please refer first to the application's Readme file for further details and full instructions manual.

just tested this out with my 3.40 OE-A firmware w/ my imported Chotto Shot from play-asia.com and it worked perfectly.

Wouldn't a better mod be to get rid of the 15 seconds of video limit?
Well someone should try it at least would be nice to be able to edit longer videos.
As much as I know this sound is now also built in, in all those cell phone cams because people in japan kept making upskirt photos. God bless japan and curse that annoying sound.

all this japan stuff is killing my buzz man i mean they are soo uncool to be looking at although i am stoned i can tell the difference between mongoloids and *****s!! its crazy but its true if you look out the window you will see outside the window think about it as for this bit of software i LOVE it!!!
i agree with you Dan thats a real problem I think but i think this is a problem of RAM because the PSP can't write so fast to the Mem stick, so it's saved in RAM. And this is too small.
the camera can take more than 15 sec u just need the XMB mode
I was waiting for this to come out! I actually tried to do this myself but I cant code for *****.woo! Before I had to cover the speakers with my thumbs-Now I can take interesting pictures without getting caught
XMB video capture uses the MJPEG codec, go!cam MPEG.
blame japan....... the most cases reported were actually from lookers where people would take pictures from gals undressing and then sell them on the internet...
I OWN the PCP camera, and it DOES make a noise when you take a pic BUT THERE IS AN OPTION TO TURN THE SOUND OFF. Yes, there is NO NEED for this app...you can just set the shutter noise to "disabled" This guy is really stupid, im sorry. Please do not flame me, I am just stating the obvious.

did they change anything from choto shoto to go!cam? i think not really. so there's no 15 sec limit whatsoever, its just your 32mb memory stick, its full. i use my psp camera whenever we go out and i have captured video moments over 40 minutes.

Nonono, if you mute sound, there still is a shutter sound
I did mine a few weeks ago, changed the camera plugin.rco and works perfectly, no shutter sound either, i did it first :P)
As for duncanyoyo1, you're wrong, there is not option "turn sound off" for the Go!Cam... There always is a shutter sound ^^

Not True... even when u put earphones in, it still makes the sound... and NO there is NOT an option to turn it off...
The sound was to notify others.

This is a law in japan, any phone that takes picture are required to make a sound.. upskirt photos rofl, what a law eh
useful? to take pictures so that the girl (or guy) doesnt see you photographing them? hmm, voyeurism is saved again. supposed to be the law, like cellphone cameras, youre all *****ed up
