Anyhow, undertaxxx mentioned that this was originally made by Sérgio Catumba and Innercy, but he decided to re-style everything on the XMB so that it would look perfect with the high-res icons. The package includes the following:

i just wanna ask if this application is just a stand-alone meaning that it doesnt need other programs to run it and is it possible to change back to the original-factory XMB settings(when bought XMB). AND is it available for 1.50's cause i dont have O-E's and wont have it....
If you're willing to flash something like this to your PSP, why wouldn't you be willing to flash the custom firmware?
And no I wouldn't use this on a 1.5, you will brick it.
I've never flashed anything to change XMB before, but now I want this! It looks awesome, I'm running 3.10 oe-a. Could someone please post instructions or a tutorial of some sort.
Dont even try to sorry, you'll brick it for shure on 3.10oe. Go to your recovery menu, start eboot to go back to 1.50 then instal 3.03oes... believe me its worth it!

go to theme in the system config 'and change the theme colour........should work, if not sorry.
so im on 3.03 oe-c, used flash agent f4 to flash the files, and everything works except for the custom black xmb wave effect, its still the same old normal wave effect... anyone know why?

these icons have been floating around the forums for at least a week. ppl, if ur so dedicated to pspupdates go to the forums urself and explore. and whoever wrote this blog, visit more often, plz. ur a freakin member of the network already.
for them saying it wont work on 3.10 OEA is stupid. only the icons wont work. 3.10 OEA does not support a decrypted topmenu_plugin.rco (icon files). everything else will work. so flash away ppls. again bloggers get all the facts straight.

you wont flash a firmware yet you'll flash an enourmos xmb pack ( you have to free space in your mobo in order to use this ) your just flat out dumb...OE lets you recover from bricking yet you dont upgrade and are willing to brick, just dumb...

Why not just downgrade to 3.03 OE-C?
That's what I ended up doing last week. I decided it was awesome to be able to customise my XMB and there are really no downsides to downgrading. There is a plugin to have 3.10 POPS on the 3.03 OE-C and the only other feature in 3.10 OE is a little thing in the web browser to make pages load a little faster. So downgrade today!!! It's worth it.
go into recovery mode on your (preferably) 3.03 OE-C psp. although 3.10 OE will work just not with the topmenu_plugin.rco file. Then once in recovery go to advanced and then enable usb flash0 or whatever it says. then on your computer first back up that whole directory into a folder on your computer just in case. then copy the files in the download overwrite the files in ...whatever directories they are in on your psp flash. then disconnect the usb and go to your xmb and BAM...amazingness.
innercy's white icons look better than the black ones on a black background like that, IMO, you should try it out and decide for your self.

I flashed everything from the files, and yet I get a white screen. I'm using 3.10 oe-a. I even went to theme, and set it to original but there are no options and I can only click X and it does nothing. Please help!
WELL OF COURSE
Topmenu customizations (ie custom XMB icons) do not work in 3.10. They were blocked by Sony. Downgrade to 3.03 OE-C (the same way you would if you were upgrading it), then install the theme again, and it should work.
Just delete everything that has to do with custom firmware to downgrade?

*"Custom XMB Icons" folder - contains 146 custom xmb icons
*"topmenu_plugin.rco flasher" folder - contains the flasher that goes into either your GAME folder or GAME150 folder
*"Topmenu Generator* - this is an app for your computer that creates the topmenu_plugin.rco out of the 6 icons you choose
Instructions
*Download and extract the contents of the zip folder to your computer
*I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICKED YOUR PSP, this wont brick your psp though, its safe
Creating the topmenu_plugin.rco
*on your computer
*doubleclick the topmenu.exe in the topmenu generator folder
*choose your firmware (choosing 3.02 OE will work for 3.02 OE-A')
*now choose your icons by clicking on the "browse" button and choosing the icon your want
*after you picked out your six icons, press the "create" button
*then a folder should pop up with your custom topmenu_plugin.rco
Flashing the topmenu_plugin.rco to your psp
*extract the contents of top_menu.rco flasher folder into either the GAME (1.5, 2.5 users) or GAME150 folder(3.02oe, 3.03 oe users)
*copy custom topmenu_plugin.rco from the folder that popped up after you clicked the "create folder"
*go on your psp and run the topmenu_plugin.rco flasher app
*press "o" to flash the topmenu_plugin.rco to your flash0
theme looks great on my psp
two things though
a) the gameboot doesnt work

navigate to Settings, Theme Settings, go down one, and you're set to the black background!

nvm i got flash agent to get 2.5MB free space. I had the flash really full and flash agent ask if i wanted to relink dummy files.

ya commyostrich there is NOT a plugin for 3.03 OE-C to run 3.10 P.O.P.S on it you must be mistaken for the plugin that runs ANY POPS on 3.10 if you downgrade to 3.03 OE-C you lose 3.10 POPS and gain topmenu_plugin.rco whoopdey friggin doo

Why doesn't someone just mix and match 3.03 OE-C and 3.10 OE-A? So you will have pops fix and also custom themes. Good idea or brick? Ill find out and post back.
WOW, 3.10 POPS! WOOOOO!!! Some people don't play PSX at all, and some people don't have any problems with the 3.03 and 3.02 POPS.

ended up saying not enough disk space... any ideas?

To install it download the ultimate black theme pack, and then turn ur psp off completely, then turn on ur psp holding the R trigger until u see the recovery menu, u then go to advanced, connnect ur USB to the computer and PSP, then go to Toggle USB (flash0), when u go there ur Psp folder should come up and u should many folders, go to the folder named "vsh" and then go to the folder named "resource", make a copy of this folder so this can be your back up in case it doesnt work, after u did that go back to the ultimate black theme pack and put all the files into the resource folder and click yes to all to replace all the files. If it says file is too big or disk is full exit this and download flash agent F4, download it and drag the folder in Game150, once dowloaded go to ur psp and load up Flash Agent F4 once loaded up, go to relink dummy files and this should free up about 2.5 mb of flash0, once u did that repeat this whole process agan, once u did that go to exit recovery menu and voila new psp theme, if creen is whiote go to theme settings and go to wallpaper and put do not use, then go to theme and go to original. and if this doesnt work then im sorry i dod not know whats the problem, just replace the ultimate black theme with ur old backup files.

These files are too big for 3.03 OE-C. Because 3.03 OE-C takes up too much flash space.

if you're running 3.03 OE-C.. you could just get rid of the web browser by going into recovery mode and go to advanced then toggle usb flash0.. then get rid of the files in the resources under vsh i think it is.. and delete all the ones that start with "html".. that worked for me

dont get mad but u have a semi-brick, get a 1.5 EBOOT and leave it in ur desktop, make a new folder called RECOVERY and put the 1.5 Eboot in there, make sure the update eboot is named UPDATE.pbp****, after this turn off ur psp completely and then turn on ur psp holding the R trigger so u can go into recovery menu, from there launch toggle USB go to PSP, then GAME and place the recovery folder there, and then go back to the recovery menu and launch "Run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP" once u do that u will go back to 1.5 and upgrade that to watever u want.
the way u can take off the green lines off from the right side while keeping everything else is by going to the recovery menu, go to advanced, then go to Toggle USB (flash0) and then go to vsh and then go to resource folder and replace the "01-12" photo there with the original one(ur backup)
take out ur battery or charge it, does the green light come on?
try using Flash Agent F4 to free up space and then replace the files, i had the same problems
3.02 OE-C(not really sure) but definetly 3.03 OE-A 3.03 OE-B and 3.03 OE-C(which i have)

my psp's all messed up now...
So I tried copying all the files over, but I was getting that "disk is full" message, so went to check the FlashAgent, but when I tried activating the USB connection, it just froze and turned itself off. U can still access the recovery menu, and all subfolders but again it freezes up when I choose one of the options like "system information" or "battery information". It just turns itself off.
The UMD in the PSP runs fine - unable to try iso's due to not being able to connect it to the PC.
I backed up the 01-12.bmp and topmenu_plugin.rco files to my PC but restoring them hasn't helped (I forgot to back up the other files when overwriting them with all the files from the black XMB above).
Tried restoring it to 1.5 but I can't because I can't activate the USB to connect to my PC.
do i just put the files into my flash0??
cuz if i do i becomes to big for my flash memory?

If you have to ask that question, you shouldn't have custom firmware in the first place.
The answer is NO.... you have to put the recovery folder on your mem stick and go thru Recovery mode to enable the downgrade.
But considering that you thought you delete stuff to downgrade.... you shouldn't try it, you'll probably brick your PSP.
You bricked your PSP by simple XMB editing? You dont deserve a PSP.... have fun with child's play.
