Firmware 2.80 users can now rejoice at the sight of more homebrew developments as the amazing 0okm has updated his popular GameShareLoader homebrew application for the PSP today to version 0.02. Although in the very early stages of development, 0okm's GameShareLoader allows 2.80 users (and 2.5 - 2.71 users) to play on 2.80 demo games that were from legally-owned UMDs. That means you can now play your demos straight from your memory stick without a UMD in sight. Don't worry if you're on 2.71 SE, our tests proves it works fine on that too!

Here's how to use it:
  1. Rip the GameShare PBP from UMD
  2. Rename it to EBOOT.PBP and paste on GameShareLoader Folder
  3. Start GameShareLoader :) Tip: in "XMB - PHOTO" menu wait image display then use [START] key to start
In this version, 0okm added path to a maximum of 63 characters and added a File size and Error Message, hopefully providing you with a little more information as to why something goes wrong. The observant amongst you will have noticed that last time we reported on this application it was called "GemeShareLoader", but it appears that this was just a typo on 0okm's part. So remember, it's called "GameShareLoader"!

Yeah, but you have one on your PSP. Rip it and send it to your memory stick.

Do the gameshares need another psp to work or is it single player demo?

these are all set up with gameshareloader v0.01, but you can use these eboots with v0.02., it will just take more work on your part.

----------------------

for v0.02

you can use multiple gameshares, but each one needs its own folder.

therefore, additional folders will have to be renamed.

you will then have to edit 'loadbinary.tif' and 'main.bin' and change the path from the old folder name to the new. you can used hex editor to do this:

for further instructions see developers page

bomberman and megaman were just added to gameshares page. both set up with v0.02, so all you have to do is put them in psp -> photo. there should be no editing required.

also, you might want to check out the following thread. the original post contains links to some of the gameshares, and also all of the 14 official psp demos. gameshare discussion starts at about page 178 (thus far going to pg. 183)
