Gameboot Path Modfier takes care of your flashing needs |
Ó
There is a hot-of-the-grill homebrew application in our forums right now. Homebrew developer Kando informed us that Team FWI (composed of himself, LordSturm, Birdman and JamesBDX) just came up with the first version of Gameboot Path Modifier. This release probably trace it roots from the 2.71 EBOOT. It does exactly what the eboot does. Almost exactly and yet, much better. In case you are not quite familiar with this, here's a little bit of an explanation: Our PSP unit's firmware is programmed to load gameboot.pmf at start up from the directory (flash0:/vsh/resource/gameboot.pmf). So in short, we have to flash our handhelds whenever we want to change this. With the hassle aside, flashing still is dangerous and takes up valuable flash0 space. The Gameboot Path Modifier edits the firmware, allowing the gameboot to load from the memory stick.
The next question now is, "Do I still need to flash every single time?" The answer is no. A good follow-up question is "Will this brick my PSP?" Team FWI answers, "1 out of 9,999,999,999 psp's may brick." Despite that low, low chance of bricking your PSP, it is still nonetheless a chance. Before proceeding and loading this to your handhelds, kindly read the Read me file first.

This sounds like a winner. I'll give it a try.
Are there any websites or donwload locations with popular and ready gameboots?

you don't have to register for this one: http://www.nextpsphacks.com/gameboot.php I don't know if these are compatible are not.. I tried the slashandblood one, and it pretty much bricked my psp, I had to restore the old one in the recovery menu..
any gameboot u modify, make or download must not be greater than 196 kb (that's the original sony gameboot). if over 196, your ps1 eboot game will crash. I've tried it myself with many gameboot.
If you were alble to restore your psp,you did not brick it...**
I personally used the slashblood one and it works just fine.
I've dumped my 3.02 updateboot and decrypted them with cross, next i've putted the opening_plugin.prx in the root, started the program, and he says: Sorry, You havent the wrong file there, Exiting..... Can someone help me?, Thanks in advance! Max
i was just wondering if it is possible (or easy) to restore the original gameboot screen if needed.
