Interested in a bit of retro-gaming for your PSP? Homebrew developer Akop Karapetyan (aka uberjack) dropped by the QJ.Net Forums earlier to announce the release of the latest version of fMSX-PSP.

For the guys wondering what this application is, it's a PSP-based emulator of Microsoft's MSX standardized home computer architecture from the 80s. fMSX-PSP is further based on the fMSX v3.1 emulator, and uses a Graphics Utility Toolkit (GU) for rendering.

As for the emulator's latest improvements:
  • fPSP-MSX v3.2.1, by uberjack - Image 1Added menu navigation options - select from US PSP navigation (X confirms, O cancels) or Japanese PSP navigation (O  confirms, X cancels—also used by
  • most homebrew emulators)
  • Added RAM/VRAM adjustment options
  • Added HBlank/VBlank period selection (PAL/NTSC)
  • Added MSX model selection (MSX1, MSX2, MSX2+)
  • Improved accuracy of frames-per-second counter
  • User interface improvements
  • fMSX updated to version 3.2
  • Rendering speed increase, switched to 15bit color
  • Various bug fixes
You guys can find more info (such as where to get games) at uberjack's release thread here at our QJ.Net Forums. Also make sure to check out the file bundle's accompanying readme for usage details. Enjoy!
