Flashless cIntro Mod custom firmware 3.00 |
Ó
Here's a quick heads-up from homebrew developer SHADOWZ. He has announced the release of his cIntro Mod, which allows us to run PMF videos at the startup of custom firmwares. This version is meant for 3.00 owners, and will do away with having to flash your unit or editing its config.txt. For the guys who were worried about how much flash the homebrew uses, or were afraid of bricking their PSP, we thought you might want to see this.
Included in the bundle is an updated manual, which changes the installation method used for the brew. Fellow homebrew developer dark420bishop also chipped in on the app by streamlining the file layout for an easier click-and-copy process. As for the instructions (according to SHADOWZ):
- Download the original copy of cIntro
- Ok the original instructions call for the modification of the config.txt located in the SYSTEM folder. This used to be used for the custom firmwares like 1.5, but not the 3.00 and above ones. So instead...
- Copy the INTRO folder found in the .rar/.zip file you download and put it into the SYSTEM folder in your PSP's memory stick.
- Now you need to copy the same folder to whatever folder you have defaulted for running 1.5 kernel (for me this is simply the GAME folder but you need to consult your recovery mode to see what yours is).
- Next you need to rename the folder that u copied to GAME (or whatever) to BOOT and then open it and delete the "intro" file (this is not necessary and basically taking up space).
- Now that this is done, go to your SYSTEM folder and open up the INTRO folder that you just copied there. You will see the exact same files as the one you placed in the GAME folder. This is where you place your .pmf file that you want to use for the coldboot movie. Rename it "intro" and overwrite the current one. Now the hard part is over.
- Cold start your psp and enter recovery mode. You need to enable auto run program.

How is this new?..I've had my PSP doing this since the first OE, the regular CIntro package does the same thing as long as you have the files in the right place
this is news....maybe to people who only read the front page and don't visit forums...
where do I get some nice Cintro'es
.
Go in psp forums then in gameboot section
Thanks
i have been using this for ages now i guess its good for people of havent heard it yet and dont want to flash cintros..
Not to flame the bloggers too much, but this should not be considered a mod! All this guy did is rewrite instructions that have been known for a long time. In fact, the instructions given by SHADOWZ are not as streamlined as possible. For example, there is no need to have eboot.pbp or the pmfPlayer.prx inside the SYSTEM folder, you only need them in the BOOT folder. Your wasting precious memory following his instructions. Similarly, as SHADOWZ did mention, you don't need the intro.pmf in the BOOT folder, but he forgot to mention that you don't need to have the introcfg.ini inside the BOOT folder either; you only need those two in the SYSTEM folder. I mentioned all this information back in the original CIntro forum (here: http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-development-forum-11/t-release-cintro-74397/page18.html ) and they still work even with the recent 3.03 OE-B. I'm sorry QJ, but I'm starting to get a little worried about the guidelines you are using in determining what is a "mod"...
does this work with plain old firmware 3.00 or only custom firmwares. thanks
it is flash isnt it? it does update your psp and it does change certain things, if all failed would the psp revert to a brick or just a very anoying normal non homebrew 3.00 update. but again the news aint new, in fact its mostly common i just like a normal 1.50 with homebrew apps/games and honestly the custom version seems to be a must have and its just getting started! do not critisize them for some people just never knew.
and just thinking since this is old news but if it does work with new 3.00 fw why not make it a open thing of course it will be though, even though its old.
quote:"This version is meant for 3.00 user's". thats declaring its for normal 3.OO
visit burjkhalifa.com forums with plenty of psx eboots and psp isos register an free account and download whatever you want try it its full with psx eboots and psp isos
Shut up. It's a useful mod for people who haven't used Cintro before or don't want to flash their psp. Or in some cases, take up valuable flash space. Stop being jerks you flamers.
