FileAssistant v1.2 Released |
Ó

71M has updated his great FileAssistant homebrew application to version 1.2. FileAssistant is an all purpose file browsing application, that allows you to rename, delete, and view details of files on your PSP, or files from a UMD. It also allows you to play MP3's, play SWF's (Flash files), view .txt's, run UMD's, homebrew applications, play AVI video files and much much more.
This version is an 'experimental' build that should work on 2.0+ using the eLoader. This is a great achievement since FileAssistant has a built-in SWF viewer! This means none of you 2.0+ users have to upgrade to 2.7 to view SWF's saved on your memory stick.
This version hasn't yet been tested on 2.0+, but should work! If this application fails to start, please either post a comment or leave feedback for 71M in his bugs forum. As far as I can tell, this version doesn't add any new features, so 1.5 users have no need to download this version.
Thanks for the heads up Calum!
Updates:
- Has been confirmed to work with 0.97 eLoader on both 2.0 & 2.6
- It appears that the ability to launch homebrew applications form this was taken out in order for it to work on 2.0+ - Sorry guys!

sounds good :)
Going to check it out and tell you if it works.
i checked for update on a whim...i think 2.7 US just came out
Good job now all we need is a AAC player!
It did a while ago - http://pspupdates.qj.net/Sony-PSP-Firmware-2-70-Released-for-U-S-and-Japan-/pg/49/aid/28686
I can confirm that it WORKS on 2.0 with eLoader 0.9.7 (with eMenu).
Confirmed on 2.6 with eloader .97
crashed for emenu for me
Thanks for the confirmation guys.
@8 what firmware version are you on?
I tested it on a 2.6 with eMenu and it worked fine for me!!!

Anyone test Flash yet?
how do u load homebrew with it?
i loaded a flash video on my 2.6 and it didnt have sound
It also allows you to play MP3's, play SWF's (Flash files), view .txt's, run UMD's, HOMEBREW applications, play AVI video files and much much more.
i dont know how to load homebrew with it. help anyone?
Thanks for the update :) Is there anything else new other than 2.xx compatability over the last version ?
With the built in .swf player I don't have to worry about upgrading to FM 2.70.

Excellent !!
Tt works on 2.5, but it crash when i try to go in the credit menu, and i've to reboot the PSP to quit.
"i dont know how to load homebrew with it. help anyone?"
Try navigating to the EBOOT.pbp of the game you wish to load, and press X.
can anyone get swf files to work perfectly?
ya i tried that but it brings up file options and the options are delete and rename
Sorry, it appears that it can't run homebrew. It was taken out in order for it to load on 2.0+ - Sorry for the mistake!
thats alright, thats why we have eloader
The flash player sucks ass.
It loads halfway, then my PSP shuts down automatically
Credits screen does cause a lockup, but other than that seems to work fine. Nice prog.
Couldn't get it to play an avi file but it looks very good anyway!
I'm the first to admit that the Flash player isn't the best, loading times are long, compatibility is also somewhat questionable, but at least you get to play your homebrew still and enjoy some SWF files!
Check out http://www.easy-monkey.co.uk/SWF/ for a couple of example files that are tested and working, harecut.swf being the most compatible.
Enjoy the update...
Cheers,
71M
It works great exept for pushing select doesnt reboot on mine and dosnt support exit function.Anyway its a great prog. keep up the good work .Thx.
y cant i watch my avi video of naruto?
If anyone has any comments/suggestions please visit our forums and post there.
We'll try our best to update and fix the problems that you guys are finding.
Cheers,
71M
I load up eloader but the file assistant does not show on the menu. What am I doing wrong?
Confirmed working on 2.6+eMenu 0.1 Final.
However, I can tell you that at least Madness Combat crashes the flash player. Have not tested mp3s/etc.
MAN A DAY LATE FOR ALL THE NEW 2.7 USERS WHO COULD OF STAYED AT 2.6 AND STILL HAVE FLASH!
THAT'S RIGHT!!! THE ONLY HOMEBREW CURRENTLY KNOWN THAT PLAYS MP3'S FROM ANY LOCATION ON MEMORY STICK!!! MOST OTHER PLAYERS REQUIRE IT TO BE IN "MUSIC" FOLDER, WHICH WAS POINTLESS JUST USE BUILT IN ONE. GREAT JOB, AWESOME PROG!!
the only disapointment is its read only in bios
love the program, but this update is only for 2.0+
i was using fileassistant 0.04 and i loved the way you can make directory and move files to another directory or copy files to another directory
i cant do that with this version so i stick with the 0.04
is there a chance the move and copy commands will come in this version?
i like move gta saved games to another map so the psp start up at eloader. and when i wanted to play gta i put the gta saved game back into the saved game directory
besides that i really love this applications and beside zx81,s ftp program is this (0.04) the only thing i use for file administration
keep up the good work
it wont let me download it from this site or the official one. could someone upload the file for me somewhere
Im using it on my 1.5, and the flash doesnt work at all. It loads to about 80% and freezes. Sometimes it shuts off. Hopefully theyll find a way to improve the falsh player in future releases
hello i have the same i cant also download on this website
luckly for you ive put it online heres the link
http://www.megaupload.com/nl/?d=HUYNN9R9
when on that site you need to wait 40 seconds before you can download, oh and the download button is sometimes covered by a advertisal ad
greetings
is the ISOs working here?????????somebody must try??????
cant dowload this thing and not from megaupload either
This is great! It looks very very nice, much better than the old 0.04 fileassistant I was using before.
Is there any way to hide the GUI when playing music, so that the visualizer is full screen?
but when u try and view flash files its pretty bad the screen splits in 4 and theres no sound

When I play more than a specific amount of mp3s it chrashes :/. Also like someone else reported it doesn't reboot and i cant turn it off. But still a great app :D.
the cpc emu has zip file support, could that be integrated into a future release of FileAssistant?
how do I decompress the .rar file
get winrar (rarlabs.com I think)
i dont know how anyof this works if any one would e kind enough to tell be in simple terms how i can use this program i will be more then thankfull!!!!!
