Sounds fantastic

This really sounds like an amazing program, an all-in-one file browser. I'm guessing this won't work with FW 2.6 since it uses wifi..? If this could somehow be merged with the eloader so you could run homebrew or access your psp files, it would be the perfect combination.

-sigh-

another fileassistant program that I probably wont be able to use with my microdrive in the Neo 2in1.. but it sure looks nice in the screenshot.

Why

Why dosnt file assistant work on larger volumes? FA++ simple reformats my 2gig volume, which isnt in the description, so i think its a bug, that should be mentioned somewhere...

A nice Program

I used to use this ALOT in my 1.50 days. Now I'm a 2.0 user wondering how much this program has improved.

FA++

Cory1492: FA++ was actually one of the first, and still is one of the best Homebrew apps out. It's not 'another' -- everything else was bassed on this ;)

does it all!!!

this is one of the greatest apps 4 the psp i have seen yet, it can... - brows your memory stick, bois, and UMD - it can play movie files (not just the mp4 crap) - it can view images from bmp to png - it can play sound files lots of them!!! even ones that came out of atari and nintendo roms - it can connect to your computer throught usb while still active - you can make directorys and delete them - select and make your own skins - view txt files - PLAYS .SWF files (much better then his(71M) last realese) - very easy to use oh and while in it press start then view the credits, when in the credits press start and 'x' to do cool stuff, nice reflections, physics, 3d, and camera movement.

Improved 2GB compatibility !

FA 1.0 does not boot on my sony 2gb stick, this version does work! Thumbs up! I was using FA 0.9 on my 2gb ms, and FA 1.0 on my 1gb ms.

Hope it's good

My PSP's LCD, buttons, and speakers broke, for the third time... But when I get it fixed I'll try this out. Love FA++!!!!! I couldn't use any other File Browsers because of the amazing music enhancements (like 3D sound)

datel drive or firmware

this thing doesnt run on my psp from the latest eboot loader. is this coz im on fw2.6 or coz i have a datel 4gig drive? (i know i could try and take the drive out and use a 1gig stick instead, but the drive becomes less tight every time i do that and i dont want it falling out randomly)

The LCD-broken Anonymous Coward says:

It's because you have 2.6. And it probably doesn't work with Datel anyways.

The best thing to happen to the scene in a long time. File Assistant was already great, but this makes it way up their with the really big programs :D

2 cents

I think this app is a jack of all trades, but master at none. It works pretty well as a file manager, but crashed when I played an mp3, and was choppy during video playback.

Hmmm...tough decision...

I can not decide whether to vote for File Assistant or PSP OSS. On one hand, file assistant has been the first program to accomplish a variety of things on the PSP, making it a far greater programming achievement by far, on the other hand I love PSP OSS's aesthetics and interface. But then, PSP OSS uses ideas and some code from File Assistant in order to accomplish a portion of its functions. But then, PSP OSS provides an easier interface for launching homebrew that seems to even work better than the 1.5 firmware's XMB. Of course, File Assistant makes browsing and deleting files as well as moving and copying small files easy. But then, it does not have nearly as much potential to replace the firmware's XMB menu system as PSP OSS. On the other hand...AAAAARGH! Why don't I just flip a coin?! Seriously, both File Assistant and PSP OSS deserve to win the neoflash coding contest since both programs can be quite useful and remained the best at what they do. I have not found any of the other OS or file browsing programs to be nearly as appealing and useful. Congratulations to the developers of both of these programs, they both deserve to win. On an unrelated note, I encountered problems while attempting to copy larger files (somewhere around 8MB) despite having way more than the required amount of space available on my memory stick while using the last version of File Assistant, has anybody else been encountering a similar problem? Has this issue been addressed in the Neoflash contest version of File Assistant?
