@RaiderX

Dude. im not a n00b, I said that my PSP wont recognize my memory stick after that, even my pc cant recognize my MS when I put it on an external card reader...

How I can format a MS when the PSP/PC cant recognize the MS??? DOH!!!

Anyone knows what can I do???

BTW, as an advertise, pls dont try to run .mov files with this app, ur MS can die as mine =/

by Kimbaroth - 2005-11-04 20:18

Well, Im gonna post in "Spanish" what happened just before my Memory Stick died, Ill appreciate if anyone can translate this to english, that way the creators of this app can work on it and prevent future errors.

Well, lets start =)

[/SPANISH ON]

Aquí les dejo una screenshot para que entiendan lo que he dicho un poco mejor: http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6981/wtf1uf.jpg

Here is an screenshot showing what is happening to my MS, i hope this can help: http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6981/wtf1uf.jpg

(BTW, Im running Windows XP on my comp)

Remeeeember, I CANT format my MS via PSP cus when I try to do that, the next message appears: "There is no Memory Stick inserted."

Please, help me!!!^^

Peace!!!

guy above me, your ms is screwed. The reason it is screwed is because this(im leaning towards)...You went to play a .mov video....your psp crashed....your first instinc is to take out the ms to see if it will exit the video....little did you know it was being read at that very moment, hence your ms is now bricked(same thing happened to me a long time ago)....and dont blame this program...

by Loonix - 2005-11-04 21:42

A memstick can be bricked by ejecting it while its being READ???
Thats hard!
I hope this is a case for the warenty exchange.

by soadnation - 2005-11-05 03:07

does this work on the 2.0 eboot laoder? i would downgrade but i left my charger at my house

by Loonix - 2005-11-05 04:00

According to their forum:
No, it wont. No it will probably never run on 2.0 firmware. Unless something unexpected happens ;)

by Kimbaroth - 2005-11-05 05:05

@Popson

mm no, I never ejected my MS when it was being read.

After the PSP crashed, I turned it off TOTALLY and took the MS out.

holy sh*t nice update

by nightrose - 2005-11-05 09:45

For anyone trying to help Kimbaroth, here's a translation:

I downloaded File Assistant 1.0, put it in the right directory, ran the program on my PSP (USA 1.5 non-downgraded) and up until then it was fine. I could navigate the Memory Stick without problems, viewed a few photos, changed the program skin to OSX and then I exited the program, synchornized the PSP with my PC via USB and put on some trailers for the "Dungeons & Dragons Online" video game - these were in .MOV format. Up through this, it was all perfect, but when I returned to File Assistant and tried to play them, the PSP went into something like a debug screen with lots of error messages. The screen kept flashing black and white, black and white, and like I said, lots of numbers and error messages appeared at the bottom until the PSP crashed completely. I restarted it and at the instant that I rebooted it I tried to access my applications on the Memory Stick but OH SURPRISE, the PSP couldn't detect any MS. After this I tried to go into USB mode and access the MS by way of my PC but it couldn't see it either. The PC detected the storage device but when I tried to access it it told me to "please insert a disk in the unit." In other words, the PC does not detect the card either. I also tried to format the MS with a program for formatting USB devices but it didn't work. I also tried to access the MS with Partition Magic and with the Disk Management tool that's integrated into Winows XP, but they didn't detect anything either.

Here is an screenshot showing what is happening to my MS, i hope this can help: http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/6981/wtf1uf.jpg

Anyone can help me to revive my now dead MS??? ; ;

nice improvemnts, great work!

by Aryn The Cat - 2005-11-05 17:55

This program is pretty good so far, and seems to get much better with each update. Congratulations to the person(s) who created and developed this program for creating such a beautiful piece of work.

ok, now that I am done gushing and sucking up, I would like to request that the ability to play flash games is somehow implemented (with the ability to map buttons on the psp to keypresses and mouse emulation) in the near future, this is one of the few features I am waiting for either sony or homebrew developers to add to psp systems. Also, perhaps adding more features will be a bad idea until the existing features are perfected, many programs go from being very functional to becoming a bloated and buggy waste of space by not perfecting the features they originally have and focusing on being a jack of all trades and I would hate to see such a nice program go to waste in that manner.

by The General - 2005-11-05 18:02

very cool....

by PuyoDead - 2005-11-05 18:39

I've been using this since it started, and it's been great watching all the features get added and improved. But, here's a few things I've noticed.

Large pictures (jpg, for one) will crash FA++. This has always happened, and still does in 1.0.

The NSF playback is a very cool idea (I was damned happy to see that in the changelog), but it needs a bit of work. For one, it plays at about half speed. Second, you can only listen to the first track (since NSF files are like playlists). Other than that, they seem fine.

Copying large files also crashes FA++.
