FastPower was created by Test30 - Image 1Homebrew developer Test30 dropped by the QJ.NET PSP Forums recently and released a new plugin called FastPower. Basically, the purpose of this is to allow users to turn off their PlayStation Portable units or put it in standby mode with just one button press.

The program was created with the help of another coder vodkkaa. According to Test30, PSP owners can also activate FastPower while playing a game. Anyway, this is just the first release, and the coder mentioned that new features will be added in the next releases such as new button combinations.

FastPower v0.1 was tested with FW 3.40 OE-A but also works with FW 3.10, 3.30, and 3.40.

The applications comes with a Readme file so please be sure to read through that first. It has important information concerning instructions and other pertinent details.

» Interesting

I see that this could be useful but for those without any damage to their PSP I don't understand the use.

if your this lazy to not reach to the side of your psp and flick the power switch then you should be in rehab.

» umh

» Great idea

I do admit, I like this, Sometimes I think i turn it off, and its really still in standbye (usally this only happens when im in a hurry) and then all the battery is gone. Also the zsnes emu, if you try to turn it off when i game is running, it takes a super long time. this little addon would be GREAT for turning off the psp fast there now, and also like one said, the fact that when it locks up, we should be able to turn it off super fast now. great idea!

» think please

When you flick the power switch, the PSP doesn't power off.

For power off, you need to flick this power switch more than 5~7 seconds.

» durrr.

putting the psp in standby doesnt use your battery at all

by Molster - 2007-06-11 11:38
» learn before you speak

Yes it does, I have left it on standby for a day (not knowing it was on standby) and when i go back to it, the battery was dead. so learn before you speak.

» Has spoken

the cache keeps the processor and bus running at a really low voltage, you're battery will die if you leave it on sleep for more than 2 days

» This is useful

My origional PSP's power switch not only feels like it is going to break any day, but it became so loose I stopped using it all to gether and started using my backup PSP. The power switch on the PSP is sadly a piece of crap and all of you who are posting here basically admitting to any lack of concern about your PSP and its cheap power switch by calling concerned people lazy will be sorry a few years from now when every time to turn your PSP on or off you have to treat it like it is made of glass.

Thank you for this...now if only we had a power on prx...
