eyePSP demo - control your PSP with a laser |
Listed in: Homebrew Applications, Homebrew Demos Tags: califrag, psp homebrews, Webcam
Ó
With the help of a Chotto Shot or GoCam, eyePSP can read movements of a projected laser pointer and allow the PSP screen to display what's going on. There's only a demo as of now, but it would be pretty cool to have games controlled by the laser's movements.
You can find eyePSP in action by watching the video below, or try it out yourself by grabbing the demo. Might as well visit the thread where califrag made the release, because discussions of eyePSP's future can be found there.

but. yes, great point. We could eventually make a portable wii of sorts. But hey, I was wondering this: what if we made a simple add-on for the PSP that'd take the yellow video in wire that most electronics use? That way, we'd have a portable TV of sorts for our video games! I mean think about it: if we can do TV out, why not Line-in?
Then, we can take our Wii or GameCube, or even PS3 anywhere with us, and as long as there's just one power outlet, we'd be able to play our consoles anywhere! Of course, the add on would naturally need to come with a PSP mount stand (so that if you're playing with friends, everyone can see). Also, for long periods of time, you'd need to bring the psp charger, but hey, that'd be really cool, and I promise that EVERYONE would want one! I mean think about it: everything'd be portable. DVD players, Xboxes, Wiis, even Tivos
All you'd do is drop your console in a bookbag, and put the PSP in your pocket, and you're an instant video gamer magnet

Not to mention that it would require opening your PSP and probably soldering a few things.
Better off to just get a portable dvd player with a video in port. They're cheaper and have a larger screen.
