Over on the QJ.NET PSP Development forums, PSP homebrew developer a_noob has released version 1 of EffectsMB, a plugin that lets you customize the look of your PSP even further.

EffectsMB basically lets you choose from a bunch of psychedelic color effects for your PSP's XMB. Once you've installed the plugin, you can switch between effects via the left and right triggers.

There are 31 effects in all. Here's a sample of the color effects you can achieve with EffectsMB:

wow

Big surprise, it don't work. Lemme guess, you didn't code it to be compatible with 5.00 m33 did you? I knew it was too good to be true.

...

I still fail to see how these qualify as 'psychadelic'.
by FREAKED - 2008-11-29 18:25:18
?

worked fine on my 5.00 m33-2 but it turns everything colors pictures and all ... that doesnt seem to useful when all my pics have a colored tint
by Bl00dyMurd3r - 2008-11-29 18:30:56

by MitchenX - 2008-11-29 18:31:21

ahggh

How do you use this damn thing??
by TakeYoMoney - 2008-11-29 20:38:39
How To Install

Installation: 1) Copy EffectsMB.prx from this folder to ms0:/seplugins. 2) Open VSH.txt and add this line to it ms0:/seplugins/EffectsMB.prx and save. (If you dont have VSH.txt create one and put it in the folder ms0:/seplugins) 3) Disconnet PSP from Computer and completely SHUT OFF your psp. 4) Turn on PSP while holding R Trigger to boot into recovery mode. 5) Scroll to Plugins and click X 6) Scroll down onto EffectsMB and click X to enable it (Make sure that it says enabled) 7) Exit recovery mode. Usage: 1) Follow Installation. 2) While in XMB use right and left triggers to toggle effects (All the way to the left = No effect.) It can't get any easier than this. I explains it with detail there is no other way. LOL :)

....

I know, when i was revising it, i thought i made it completely noob proof, but i guess Bl00dyMurd3r proved me wrong....

No psychedelic please

Poster/Mod can you please rephrase this post. I do not intend for this plugin to synthesize Acid trips, or other influenced visions, but rather just Effects that can be applied to the XMB, hence the Name. Thank you. Sincerely A_Noob

by majorbb100 - 2008-11-30 10:25:13
seems pointless

this is pointless, cxmb themes are way better than using this, and from the above comments it turns everything including pictures "psychedelic" which no one wants.
by Bl00dyMurd3r - 2008-11-30 10:49:32
i know

but it says use right and left triggers and it doesn't work on my 5.00 m33-3 slim :(
by SGT4EVA - 2008-11-30 10:52:52
WOW....

seriously? dude you can use this plugin ANYWHERE on the psp... can you use cxmb in game? no not possible, this you can. You can even use this on top of Cxmb, its just another customizing tool for psp that happens to be freaking awesome... Plus it looks amazing, just try it.
by M-Lin - 2008-11-30 12:06:52
try it

I thought it seemed pointless too - and it is - But it looks really cool! Particularly when looking at pictures of naked women
by Nezumi - 2008-11-30 13:24:32
The colours Duke, the colours!

A change of colours, or bright colours, hell, if you run a video filter through your graphics card and invert colours, those are psychedelic.
by majorbb100 - 2008-11-30 16:55:46
dude

dude who would want to use this in a dam game, its retarded. it doesnt even look good.
by RocSqualie - 2008-12-01 09:49:37
@majorbb100

well if it's "retarded", make a fuc**ng plugin that puts shame on this one. oh wait.... you CAN'T. don't go bashing other peoples contributions when you can't show anything yourself!
by RocSqualie - 2008-12-01 09:54:56
Oh the irony of this one....

how can ''museums'' become drug lords, smart one? hmmm????? last time i checked, museums were places and drug lords were people. maybe i missed the memo or something o_O
by GLO13AL_T3RROR - 2008-12-01 12:39:26
***** off

if you can't make any plugins *****up...before saying retarded think what did you make for this homebrew scene?..None so ***** off
by Aphex85 - 2008-12-02 06:11:56
Nezumi.....

you wanna show some *****ing respect *****. it's his plug-in. if he doesn't want it to be called a 'psychedelic plug-in' then thats his call. And what the ***** does a museum have to do with acid. bloody kids.....
