DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.65b

Okay, do us a favor. Open pspupdates on a new tab, and then go type the name of DEVHOOK Launcher/VSHEX Mod's developer on the search box. You'll see that Chunglam's been very busy. That's how many updates in how many days?

The guy just keeps updating, and updating, and updating, and updating, and updating... Anyway, we'll skip to the important things you guys would want to know, like, er, what's new in this version.

Changes for Version 1.65b

Added font5x10.LATIN1, font6x12.LATIN1, font10x10.GB and font10x10.BIG5 - Chunglam says that the quality isn't very good though, since they were generated from TrueType font.
The menus of launcher and vshexmod can now be in SJIS, GB, BIG5 and LATIN1 encoding format. Chunglam asks that you specify encoding format in your language file.
Updated Chinese name macro "names.gb"(GB) by angelspsp(CNGBA) / eavlvoe (MaxC). Added Chinese name macro "names.sjis"(SJIS) by friend from Taiwan.
Added Simplified Chinese language file by CrUmp Zhao. Added Polish language file by derdzik. Added Portuguese Brazil language and help file by Pender666.
Changed background image contributed by tv8 and Whiplord.
Added firmware 2.00 config text files.

What's new with the Launcher?

You can now remove "ms0:/dh/kd/devhook046.prx" to prevent launcher prompt you "Switch Devhook" menu. Chunglam says that this is a little something for all your Devhook 0.45 fans out there.
Re-added firmware 2.00 selection.

Notes for Vshexmod 1.25b

Auto load name macro (names.*) if encoding format is specified in language file otherwise load "macro.txt"
List only compatible fonts if encoding format is specified in language file.
Added loading cover bitmap "cover0.bmp" in root of ISO/CSO image.

Great work Chunglam! Anyway, at the rate Chunglam is updating we think it's safe for you guys to keep posting your inputs on how he could improve his amazing app on the comments. Oops sorry, it seems that you guys have already been doing that. Silly me.

I, as well as many others, have tried to use this Devhook on a number of occassions (about once per update release) and I have never been able to get it to run successfully. I can get the Devhook menu running but when I try to load the 1.5 firmware it just won't go. So I innevitably end up goign back to the 2.71 devhook that was released when DA's HenC was released. That works fine.

just look at the mod work this guy has done it's all been to the devhook launcher interface doing small hacks adding fonts and integrating features ect... its not adding new previously unseen FW that has not yet been hacked yet.

yes stuff for 2.71 is being pimped because someone has already done the hard work and hacked the FW. complaining in release threads for mods of software you cant even run on your FW is not going to make a blind bit of difference to when people get around to hacking/releasing a 2.8FW for devhook

to all the pple that pestering about 2.8 , why ya complaining? they get there when they get there, and at the same time, why did you update to 2.8 in the first place, YOU ---------> "oh cause its greater, and better stuff and internet " (whatever) knowing u aint using it (WEB, WiFi against others, etc)

Now your showing off to yo buddies saying ------> "look at my 2.8 its awesome, look at all these updates they made" *BIG SMILE*,

you know I bought original Half-Life 1 when it was priced $10 instead of 40-50..

so this is what firms should thinking about..

and not piracy..

and I didn't even mentioned that many UMD games sux real baaad..

and at last that Sony forcing you to update if you want to play 1 level demos is even more disgusting.. since demo games don't even need updates.. ***** that..

Does anybody knows if this devhock works on a TA082 wich emultates 1.5 form 2.71 with hen C??? I'm afraid to try it because in some of the posts says that is for custom 2.71 and also that writes something on the flash_0... so...

im did not specify before im on a ta-082 2.71 fw and what i was saying is i dont think the vshex mod works on emulated 1.5 fw still testing older specify moded by chunglam

after much testing of all the variables it turns out to be

#vsh extender

ms0:/dh/kd/vshexmod.prx

for it to work perfectly, change it to

#vsh extender

ms0:/dh/kd/vshex.prx

and to not be hassled delete devhook046.prx

and devhook045.prx thanks hope this helps some one

I have my boxarts saved as 100x172 bmp files with the same name as the ISO's I've got (eg. LegoStarWars2.cso and LegoStarWars2.bmp), but no matter where I put the bmp's they don't show up.

What am I doing ass-ways?

Okay, it seems like you don't know, but the fu**ing 2.8/2.81 FWs have been FULLY decrypted. So there's nothing stoping anyone, besides Sony being stupid and getting all over Booster, scaring everyone from continuing progress...

I have a 1.5 and install all files from this. I download the 2.71 eboot and use PBP unpacker to extract the psar file and put it on my memory stick. I then run FW installer (included in this download) and it seems to install 2.71 fine, but when I try to start 2.71, it just freezes on black screen then eventually turns itself off. What am I doing wrong??

reboot.bin that is and well i acn emulate 1.5 fine just not with vshexmod. unless you are talking about having reboot.bin in ms0:/dh/kd/ as well as
