So, who here owns a PSP? How many of you are currently using anything made by the original Dark_Alex? How many of you are using
2.71 Custom Firmware SE-B, which he made as well? Well, for those enterprising members of the homebrew scene, Cpajuste's come up with a rather useful module for your PSP, if you know how to use it, that is.Yes, we're sounding ominous, but it's mostly just to warn the uninitiated to be careful with adding new programs onto their PSP. Cpajuste's created the Dark_Alex SE-B Overclocking Module 01, which is aptly named simply because he's only been able to test it on the Custom Firmware SE-B versions. In this case, it enables games to run at 333 Mhz.
To better explain the risks involved with an overclocking mod, let's take a page from his own notes:
So here it is, a module is flashed to flash0 (oc.prx) and a "pspbtcnf_game.txt" file is updated to take care of this.
Only UMD or ISO games should use this module since it's launched with the 2.71 firmwares files, homebrews that use 1.50 modules should not use it.
Anyway it's really working, I've compiled the module to run games at 333 Mhz and it was damn slow.
I will also try to add CPU speed switching in the future.
- To install, copy the content of the PSP_ROOT folder to your memory stick then launch as usual.
- TWO FILES ARE COPIED TO THE FLASH USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
- XMB will remain at 222 Mhz
- Compatible with SE-B and SE-B' (SEB2)
- All is automatic, no possibility to switch games back to 222 Mhz (exept if you remove seb with the recovery).
- WIFI IS BROKEN FOR NOW, NO ONLINE PLAY.
If you've got the know-how to master installation of the module, and aren't afraid of any potential bricking, then why not give it a try? Just note that we won't be responsible for any bricked PSPs, so make sure you know what you're doing beforehand. Boy, is the homebrew scene a scary place for folks without technical knowledge. Enjoy the mod, and remember that Halloween is coming up, so don't spook us with tales of PSPs coming back from the brick, alright?

As much as I might be tempted, no wifi will prevent me from doing it. I really hope that dark alex puts out the C addition and adds the 222/333 switch. Its the only thing thats missing from the nearly perfect B addition.

with this mod , one would lose the ability to play any games online.. Nope thats just not cool. Send this one back to the shop for some tuning...

I not even going to try. I not want overclock that much and yeah um no WIFI multiplayer? lol I not even going to touch this.
Im not dissing Da or his skills. but this is clearly unfinished, and honestly unworthy of a release. 33 mhz? and no wify ? what justifys this app's existance ? what reason would someone have to release such a thing ?
Why not just use the 2.71 edition of devhook(it's like 300kb) and under firmware put it at 2.71(flash) and 222mhz and use select+start to change it to 333?
if this means that it loses your ability to use wifi then i wouldnt use this for all the pudding in the world

Dark_Alex, just fix the switch thing first. It's more major than the Wi-Fi.
I don't get it, whats the advantage to having games run at 333mhz? Arent games optimzed to run at 222mhz, and if so won't overclocking just lead to games running really fast. Or can it be that using this smooths the frame rate in games more, im assuming its this.

It definitely does NOT run it at 33 mhz, i compared it side by side with another psp at 222 mhz, both were running burnout, a game that has quite a bit of slowdown at 222 mhz. With this new module, there was absolutely no slowdown.
33 Mhz is a typo on the front page for starters, and second read the post DAX didn't make this Cpajuste did. Not everyone cares if they lose wi-fi (I care though) cause some don't have the ability to ie: no router Just remember it's not always about you, it's about the community as a whole (I guess this means I'm on a one man mission to stop the hate). Yes, first posts are stupid, especially when youre not first.

this is so ***** this thing it steals battery life, i cant play online anymore, its not that fast,...well, its only good, that i have a second psp with another custom firmware xD
I had 1.50 and i updated to 2.71 se-b. How can i get it down. (without using the downgrader...
It's not hard to just open devhook and change the clockspeed to 333!! Just press Home+Select!! And just put it back down to 222 to use wifi! Jeez!!
I just tried it. This crap didn't even let me load my iso's. Just pure crap. I had to go in recovery mode and go back to 1.50 then Se-a and Se-b then Se-b2 This mod sucks. I have no idea why make such a thing with no wifi and that it doesn't work. Waste of time!!!!!!! With this said I hope it will prevent someone from doing a mistake. DO NOT USE THIS!! i downgrade my psp and upgrade again, and i still cant play isos

OK, so this MOD is basically useless as it stands, but it does have one good thing... it proves it is possible to load external PRXs. Now, if the author thought to make it check the memory stick to load the PRX rather than flash, then people could load up whatever they wanted by renaming it to oc.prx. on the memoery stick. Better still, maybe he could make it load up slot1.prx, slot2.prx (up to slot5.prx) and provide some dummy ones that currently do nothing, just for people to replace with useful things like taking screenshots, overclockers (that actually work, or can be turned off by simply removing them) etc. Things will get better. the first attempt is always the hardest.
ive tried all ways and when i try to run my isos it gives me error, so isos are dead for me? what i need to do? use devhook?
i not like people who not know how use english?
