Homebrew - Psardumper with psp 3000 modules decryption - Image 1Here's some more news from the PSP-3000 hacking front. Not from Datel this time though, but from the man himself, Dark AleX.

It's a new Psardumper for the PSP Phat and Slim, but will allow the decryption of the PSP-3000's PRXs. Repeat, this is not for the PSP-3000. If that didn't get through to you, here's the word from DAX:

Firstly, to avoid misunderstanding: This program is NOT for psp 3000. It is for psp1000/2000, but it allows the decryption of psp 3000 prx's for researching purposes.

Modules specifically of psp 3000 usually end with 03g. From the files, it seems that umdcache is handled differently in psp 3000, and that psp 3000 comes with a new wireless chip.

A big thanks go out to Razero for the quick tip!

Where there any screen differences between the phat and slim (other than the extra brightness mode)? Were they identical in terms of contrast and color gamut?

Noticed the store shelves around here are running very light on remaining PSP-2000 stock, and I'd like to have a long-term backup for my tried and trusty phat just in case the Datel/3000 thing is a hoax.

people are making too big a deal about the scanlines. and no, the new 3000 has a VASTLY larger color gamut, much richer deeper colors, as well as a MUCH faster refresh rate. (3ms i believe, might be 5)

spankmaster,

That wasn't the question, I know the 3000 LCD is superior.

I was asking about any LCD difference between the 1000 and 2000, phat vs slim.
