CWCheat - Image 1 Good news for fans of CWCheat. PSP homebrew coder weltall has just informed us via email and dropped by our forums to announce the next release of CWCheat, version 0.1.9 Rev A.

In case you're unfamiliar with the application, it's a cheat app - as the name suggests - for POPS and PSP. The dev did as promised and focused this release's changes toward fixes and optimization (it was announced that versions 0.1.9 to 0.2.0 are centered on optimization and fixes). Weltall gave a brief description of the changes:

With this version you will now have a prx specially made for irshell which starts in homebrew mode and let you load the game id and database when you have started your game by pressing L+SELECT in the cwcheat menu.

Other than this there are a lot of optimizations which let the prx reduce it's size by 1370bytes and the goto function is more complete, being able to accept also not "showed bytes" alligned adresses (it changes the x position of the cursor according to the adress you enter)

Here's the full changelog:
  • [ALL] fixed a little glitch about brightness changing at boot up even with brightness control disabled if the default brightness level on the config was != 0
  • [ALL] made various optimizations which made the prx go down of 1370 bytes
  • [IRSHELL] added a special prx crafted for iRShell. It will load in homebrew mode and you are able to switch to game mode by pressing L TRIGGER + SELECT on the main menu. This will load the gameid and the database. When you go out from the game iRShell will reset so even prx will be reloaded, making cwcheat restarting in homebrew mode.
  • [LITE] added a lite version of the build for IRSHELL
  • [LITE] lite prxs were moved to a LITE subfolder in the package to avoid having a lot of prx on the archive root directory
  • [ALL] now the cursor is positioned according to the inputted address in the goto dialog even if not aligned with the shown bytes per line
  • [ALL] the goto address shown when you open it takes in consideration were you put the cursor
Anyway, please check out the readme included in the download. If you have any questions, you can ask away at our forums, or by posting a comment below. Enjoy!

Is there a tutorial for this utility. I tried to use it once but failed to see how to effectively utilize it. Is there a cheat utility that automates and catalogs the published cheats. EX up, down, left, right, left, right, triangle, circle, triangle, circle, up, down ... That sort of thing?

» Don't cheat in online games.

Cheating in online games ruins it for everybody, its ok for single player modes, there is a plugin to cheat for multiplayer on the psp but I'm not posting it here. and cwcheat does not work properly for online games. I hope it stays this way.

» Brave Story.

Brave Story is a one off that is unwilling to cooperate when cheating. Some wont have the problem while others (including me) will suffer for no reason.

Don't use that game to test if this works or not...

not to mention its illegal

» crash

Turns out that if you enter the cheat menu, press the up button to select the return to game option, and exit it crashes the game. doing anything else in the cheat menu then exiting seems to work fine.

» try it out

Hello cheaters, anyone still don't get cwcheat0.19rev_a to work with irshell 3.6/3.61 should try this out :

- put your *individual cheat.db file to sepluginscwchea t folder on memstick

- put cwcheat-IRSHELL.prx from LITE folder to seplugins folder on memstick

- edit textfile game with ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat-IRSHELL.prx and put it to the same folder

- reboot psp by holding down right trigger

- enable the plugin (to be sure it IS enabled click on it although it is shown as enabled)

- u might disable irsfw30x.prx and start irshell manually if u experience psp freeze

- after the game is loaded press and hold SELECT button to open cwcheat menu

- in the menu set "Reload Cheat Database" t0 0 (default) till 255,

depends which game u use, then press x, now go select cheat

* edit the cheat file with a editor (i use cwcheat database editor), rename the game id always to HOMEBREW, save as cheat, cheat1, cheat2, ..., cheat255 for each game.

i try t make a filelist (1=gamea, 2=gameb...), copy it to memstick, so i can check it via irshell, then i would know what number belongs to which game

avoid nethost mode for cheat purpose

maybe it is pedestrian, but i can't to get it to work else with cwcheahblite.prx, cwcheatlite.prx
