CWCheat v0.1.6 |
Ó
So you're in the third playthrough of some random game. You check your stats, your ammo and your enemy. You duck to avoid an incoming projectile, and just when you're about to aim, your opponent lunges at you, sending your character to its imminent death: for the fifth time.
Now, I'm all for challenging games and all, but sometimes games can be so difficult, it's frustrating. After all, you just want to see what happens in the end, but you can't even go to the second level because of some boss that's making you repeat the first phase because he keeps killing you (okay, I can be a total newbie sometimes, but that's another story...).
So for people like me, weltall's homebrew app, CWCheat is a godsend. The name pretty much speaks for itself, but if you want the word by word description from the readme, here it is:
This is a prx which works under devhook and can cheat every devhook-compatible game under firmware emulation. This works through raw-relative cheat codes like action replay, codebreaker, gameshark, xploder, etc. Other than this, it has support to other function which are useful for cheat finder and normal users (like battery, cpu/bus clock, devhook version, ms free/total space information).
We got the latest version here, which was bumped up to v0.1.6. It also includes the latest version of screenshotbmp.prx, so better check that out as well. Anyway, the changelog's a bit long, and includes new cheat search functions and screenshot support among others:

this CWCHEAT r0x!!!!
I second that :) Although I hope that the "enable remap" cause game to freeze stop in this version..because version 1.5 did in yugioh gx :/
it was a buffer overflow exploited by some game name in the database which made the code which enables remapsp being executed. now it's fixed.
please how can i apply cheats when i hold select it's shows the menu but i cant apply cheats and when i press on manual cheat apply nothing happend thanks
I know it is sort of early for him to recode but wat about 2.71 SE-A/B? I mean, i would love to be able to use this without annoying devhook. BTW, for you peoples that don't know, 2.71 SE-B rocks the pants off of devhook.
The only reason why I still have DevHook on my PSP is to use CWcheat, is there any possiblity of this being ported to 2.71 SE?
devhook is still able to do way more than any normal/custom firmware. But i dont see why i wouldnt update with 2.71 SE C. No umd? Thats SO next gen....for pirates.
I've just updated to 271_SEB2, I've manage to get devhook to work along with cwcheat. ONE problem! I don't know how to disable the cheats I dont' want, all my char in blade dancer are all maxed out LOL!!!
You don't need to wait for SE-C for "no umd". It's already in the SE-B.
first select some cheats emg! 2.71 SE Doesn't have usable prx support. before init i can't load anything complex! plus if i need to put something i have to reflash every time: annoying :S so it can't be ported to 2.71se till dark alex makes prx works after init (cwcheat must be loaded among the latest prx in the boot process). sirlude press /_ two times or open the db and search for _C1 and replace with _C0
Nice, love using both CWCheat and CheatMaster at the same time. CM still seems fast and cleaner for actual code hacking, but CW blows it out the water for USING codes. hey weltall, you ever gonna make a Memory Editor? CM has one and its the ONLY way to make most advanced codes, using ONLY the cheat device and not memory dumps on pc that is.
why does it frezze when i try to play socom on 2.71 dev_hook?
as soon as i installed this, devhook didn't load eternia no more
I see then, thanks for the response, guess I'll have to wait a bit then.
sorry but i can't reproduce this socom EU works fine
don't say screw this help developers fix it: we aren't pelican gameshark and so on so just help fix the problems! anyway for tales of eternia eu works just fine there. so tell more details what you have installed, if you have got a new db than the included one, your options, were did you install cwcheat (vsh installation is discouraged altough it works just fine) and other things
I have got the same problem as mentioned by emg above: the menu of cwcheat appears when I press SELECT and I can use teh available options and change the settings ... but the menu item "select cheats" is not showing (I checked with several games that *are* listed in the database) and pressing X on "manual cheat" does not do anything. Any ideas where this problem might come from?
