Custom XMB Plugin v1.02 |
Ó
Homebrew developer poisonhzkj has released an update for the Custom XMB (CXMB) plugin. In case some of you missed our earlier post on this piece of homebrew, CXMB lets PSP users use custom RCOs from the PSP's memory stick instead of its flash0.CXMB is made for custom firmware 3.40 OE. The download doesn't include a readme file, so here are the installation instructions from poisonhzkj's site: To use CXMB, you must activate it as the first plugin in vsh.txt. You can also choose to flash it to flash0:/kn and add /kd/cxmb.prx after /kd/vshctrl.prx in flash0:/kn/pspbtcnf.txt.
Flashing it will also eradicate chances of getting a blue screen of death if you accidentally shut down your PSP in game mode and start it up without having the memory stick inserted. Please remember to be very careful when you flash your PSP so that you don't get it bricked.
If you choose not to flash it and run into this problem, you can shut down your PSP, insert your memory stick and reboot. You can also just press the Circle button to fix your registry.
The download below also contains the Calabi Spheres XMB icon theme. For usage instructions, we recommend clicking on the "via" link below for poisonhzkj's site. You should also check out |-Anubis-|'s thread on QJ.NET's PSP Development forums for more info on CXMB.

Amazing plugin, can't wait for it to be integrated into SCEP
its amazing.
really nice keep on the good work :D
I'm waiting for the first idiot to ask, "Is this compatible with 3.03 OE-A? I'm an idiot."
This can let you have two themes at once and switch easily when you start up! Nice stuff!
i'm using it flawlesley on 3.03 OE. and they neglected to mention what the update did.
Thanks a lot bro....been waiting ever since for this !!! U Rock !! Can you gimme some list of very awesome looking themes ? And where to get them ?
Great app but it causes the browser to lock up and then psp shuts off when loading certain sites. Disabled all other plugins and did fresh install of 3.40 oe-a and problem still persists. Hopefully will be fixed on next version.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I though this plugin is flashless? Is it safe to use?
I thought it was flashless also, but after trying it out, then removing the plugin, all my fonts were still pointing to the memory stick. This plugin definitely modifies something in the flash.
