Custom PSP themes: Skull Waves, Full Grunge Set, and KDE Buuf |
For today's special, we're announcing not one, not two, but three Custom PlayStation Portable (PSP) XMB themes for your customizing pleasure. Identifying them from left to right (see screenshots above): SchmilK's "Skull Wave" xmbWave theme, Dantheman29's "Full Grunge Set", and PSPCulture's "KDE Buff" custom themes.
Going into more detail, SchmilK's xmbWave theme above is actually a revised version of his original Skull Wave edit - this particular wave animation is patterned after the Punisher's skull, with future updates possibly including a Gears of War wave theme - any room for a flame theme there (Johnny Blaze approves)? The developers would also like to give credit to whomever made the battery, volume, and icons. This wave theme was tested using PSP custom firmware 3.03 OE-C.
The second theme comes in from homebrew developer Dantheman29, and as the homebrew application's name implies, is a Grunge theme for your PSP's XMB browser. We like the gritty (dare we say macho?) looks it gives our interface, although it does remind us of the Resistance: Fall of Man toolbar. Then again, it's just us. The pack contains the XMB, font, and battery icons.
The third Custom PSP theme is by PSPCulture, who just recently released the Duranium PSP theme. The KDE Buuf theme carries some bright, easy-to-spot icons for your usage, and on a strange note, uses a Sega Dreamcast controller icon for its Games menu. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but we thought it looked cute. Fonts based on (with permission) Innercy.
The full installation instructions and other important notes await in the bundle READMEs. We also encourage the readers to drop off over each custom theme's development thread over at the QJ.NET Forums in case they're looking for more details and updates. Enjoy your download!

Comments [refresh]
qj is *****ing gay for putting up custom themes, what the ***** happen to all the actual updates. it was so much better when it was psphackers.com
another bunch of themes.. if QJ goes around posting every xmb theme ever released on the main page, my psp wont look unique anymore
there should be a section in the forums for posting them ratehr than on front page.
but not much is happening with actual updates lately so......?
DA is on vacation i heard.
i guess qj arent hypercritical after all they took down the weed custom xbm
Shut up moaning xmb themes rule and i love having the best of them posted
skull wave....he`s use my idea and project with resize .tga ... *****
these themes arnt news so dont *****en put them on the front page
You think before you post?
If you don't like the custom XMB's posted here, then don't click the links... Harder than that? I think not.
to bad u suck and he doesnt i guess hes just better then u at everything...
Yeah, even if you don't click the link it still appears on the front page. Use common sense genius, and think before you try sounding smart.
So you think I'm trying to sound smart? That proves exactly how smart YOU are...
Well... You see them at the front page... So what? Someone dies? No... Someone gets hurt? No...
If you are so against it, go ahead and make a site yourself... Do it better than qj and you get my respect (not like you WANT my respect or anything, lol)
Anyway, let's not sound like two 12 years old girls now... Just accept it, there are people who appriciates qj (a PUBLIC site) for posting these themes. You aren't alone in this world :)
who made the black battery icon?
does this work on 3.10 oe-a???????????????????????????????????????
Lol @ Dreamcast controller. I looove those icons. Nice work.
Skull waves are only opening_plugin and system_plugin_b g...and tested on 3.03oec ..From what i can tell, people have put text messages in the waves like PSP3D text was done which is what started me working on this...check the forum page for more designs and how to do it with example .jpg ot show squishing.
