PlayStation Portable, UMD logo - Image 1PSP Nikos just dropped us a line the other day to tell us about a recently concluded work. As some of you may have guessed, it's the latest update to the thoroughly compiled Custom PSP Theme Pack series.

Unlike previous custom packs, however, this one does away with its traditional number and letter scheme - PSP Nikos will now be naming these packs according to their monthly release. Here is a list of content to be found in Custom PSP Theme Pack: March 7 Edition:
  • New PSP Background Finisher/Finalizer
  • New ready-made custom PSP theme styles including: The Black White XMB, The Orange White XMB, The Red Silver XMB, The Black Yellow XMB, Black 32 Encore 4 XMB, Blocki XMB Theme, Blue Vista Orbs, Red Vista Orbs, Zelda XMB Theme, Dark Theme, New VISTA XMB, Gears of War XMB, POPSTATION Portable
  • Flash Agent F5 [now with wifi transfer]
  • X-Flash source code
  • New RCO Editor 1.10
  • tgaWave Creative Studio v1.10 [edit bootwaves and normal XMB waves]
  • Also the 'updates.txt' has been tidied up!
The pack comes in at a whopping 56 MB of space. This pack will solve most of your PSP customization concerns in terms of themes and applications - just remember to view the file README(s) and updates list to minimize PSP bricking incidents due to mishandled apps.

Kudos to PSP Nikos and PSP Viper for this major upgrade, and they, in turn, are giving a big thanks to all the PSP programmers and theme makers out there!

» Hey Guys!!!

To ALL of the PSP Programmers and PSP Theme Makers:

On behalf of myself and PSP VIPER Thanks for all of your efforts and we do appreciate them!

Sorry if this post sounds like we are Homebrew Developers BUT we are not!

We are just PSP Pack Makers! I have asked Qj.net to change this!

Sorry if we offended any one!

Thanks

» Question

What firmware version is this compatible with? I have the 3.10oe and seems like there isnt anyone out there that has released anything for this version that can help you change your theme. I just dont want to downgrade to 3.03 just so I can use a theme.

by WTF - 2007-03-09 07:14
» WTF

TO PSP NIKOS [the real one]!

wat da hell!

This guy is actually messed up

I love these packs!

Keep it up

by PSP NIKOS - 2007-03-09 07:30
» It isn't an application!

This is a pack that has all of the best things used to modify a psp!

Only changing the icons [topmenu_plugin .rco] will brick/semi-brick the PSP!

Everything else should work!

Also PLEASE BACK UP YOUR FILES!

by Shimrra - 2007-03-09 07:36
» Thats great

Awesome i am definitely going to try this. You ROCK :)

by pj1115 - 2007-03-09 07:38
» Vista...

Which Vista theme is included? I hope it isn't mine, I asked to have that removed a while ago because of an argument with the author of some components.

If it is, could you not include it in any releases?

by PSP NIKOS - 2007-03-09 07:41
» Don't know

Give me a link to yours cos i don't know what one it is?

» SH*T

Sorry it is that one!

I will remove it in the next pack!

by pj1115 - 2007-03-09 07:59
» Cheers

That's okay, it's just I asked to have it removed in the comments and QJ didn't do it.

PSPCulture started a row over me using his work in a COMPILATION theme, even though I credited him in both the readme and the news post.

by mohaas05 - 2007-03-09 08:21
» thats because

3.10's flash is too full to be able to mod everything. Right now 3.03 is the best option. Plus anyways you could get a POPS plugin for 3.03

by CertifieDorK - 2007-03-09 08:25
» ...

These idiots should get any credit for this. They put some themes into a rar. congrats. My little sister can do that.

At least she can spell things right, and not have multiples of the same things over and over again.

I've only downloaded this to see what was in it, I all ready have 90% of this from the other packs. This is getting ridiculous...

by me - 2007-03-09 09:14
» cool

i think screenshots are in order and for the boot sounds i think there should be an mp3 of the sounds, cuz its a pain in the ass to go into recovery mode 8 times just to find a sound you like, or a background or icons or something...

just my two cents

by PSP NIKOS - 2007-03-09 09:24
» mp3

if i added the mp3 files as well the pack would be even bigger!

by PaNNaP - 2007-03-09 09:24
» ?

does he mean potstation, not "popstation"?

by Bobtentpeg - 2007-03-09 09:34
» Sweet man

GREAT JOB

by MickMog - 2007-03-09 10:43
» 90% compatible

from what i gather (and i have psp on both versions3.03 OE + 3.10 OE) only topmenu_plugin.rco cant be messed with(icons)

all other rco + prx are cool....

backit up comes to mind tho

by Darkwolf - 2007-03-09 10:48
» nice

its always handy to have a pack full of custom themes ready to show freinds.

cheers dude

by MitchenX - 2007-03-09 15:57
» well ya know...

I also already have most of these themes already, but what's the point in whining about it? Geez can't ya just be happy with all this awesomeness??? When I make my super awesome mega-theme i'm not even gonna share it... cause ungrateful spoiled brats will just complain boo hoo... whatever. I'm lovin this theme pack tho. ;)

by PimpMaster - 2007-03-09 19:16
» Thanks!

Thanks man. This is cool. Why would this offend someone, though?

by to "mohaas05" - 2007-03-10 03:19
» no

wrong. its not cuz there is too little flash space left. it fits in the flash

by oh - 2007-03-10 03:20

» do me a favor nikos

i love the packs but i get sick of unzipping and organizing to my liking every single time one is released. Could you please make two separate packs, one with the full package, and one with only the new things. Thanks, keep it up

by PSP NIKOS - 2007-03-13 19:40
» Gotcha

My new pack wil only consist of the updates!
