Custom Firmware Extender v1.8.1 |
Ó
QJ.NET PSP Development forums member Cpasjuste has released a new version of Custom Firmware Extender. Pretty fast, considering version 1.8 was released only a couple of days ago. For the uninitiated, Custom Firmware Extender is a set of plugins for custom firmware 3.71M33.It adds some extra options for your PlayStation Portable such as letting you make in-game videos with the help of TyRaNiD's remotejoy app and enabling USB Mass Storage at startup. For this version, 1.8.1, Cpasjuste has added the following changes:
- Fixed a bug in usbhost iso redirection, now normal mode (umd inserted) is working great. No need to change anything in recovery, if you want more compatibility, just put an umd in the drive before using usbhost iso redirection, else do not put any umd. (thanks psp.padawan for our sharing)
- Fixed a few bugs regarding usb mass storage. (thanks madridi4ever for all the reports)

Despite having followed the directions on the READ.ME file, I still can't get these plugins to work. I'm running CFW 3.71 M33, and I've copied the folder "seplugins" to the root of my memory stick. But for the life of me, I can't get these plugins working. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me out?
did u add entries for them? in SEPlugins create two text files called VSH.txt and Game.txt. In vsh.txt type
ms0:/seplugins/cfe_vsh.prx
and in game.txt type
ms0:/seplugins/cfe_game.prx
Then go into recovery mode and enable them through the plugins menu.
Forgive my ignorance. How do I enter "recovery mode"?
Hold R (right shoulder button) during startup from a full power down (powered off, not sleep mode). After that, select Plugins from the menu, turn cfe_vsh.prx and cfe_game.prx, and exit Recovery and it will start the plugin on startup.
Thank you very much! It works now.
How do you do this? I do it all the way it says to:
"
* To use usbhost iso streaming : after executing usbhostfs_pc on the computer,
type "Note + L" on the psp. Note that you must create a folder ISO where you launch usbhostfs_pc
and put your isos inside."
However, when I do it, I get this message:
"Could not get remote ISO list"
What am I doing wrong now?
I've installed this and am finding it very useful. I also have the antiupdate plugin installed, which makes the update icon under the game menu disappear. One thing I have noticed is that after I installed Custom Firmware Extender, the Update Icon under the Game menu reappeared even though AntiUpdate.prx is still enabled when I checked on it under the registry menu. Any ideas on how I could get both of these to work at the same time?
try reinstalling the drivers. thats what i did and now it works (except that it wont boot the dang isos !!!)
does any1 no how to get the d*** iso host to work? plz help it doesnt work with umd in or out
You need to have some drivers installed on your computer before the CFE will stream ISOs. Go here to download the drivers:
