Custom Firmware 3.95 GEN released - Image 1The clock has finally struck midnight and developers behind the much awaited custom firmware 3.95 GEN have finally delivered on their promise to make this latest CFW available to the public.

As previously mentioned, CFW 3.95 GEN will be fully compatible with the PSP Fat models. Also, the VSHMENU from Popsloader, most of the functions of IRShell, and the CXMB were tested on the new CFW with limited success.

Here's the breakdown of CFW 3.95 GEN's changelog:
  • General
    • Kernel updated to 3.95 (new nids, patches etc.)
  • Recovery
    • Option added in recovery to choose between VSHMenu and in-XMB recovery.
    • Option added in recovery to choose between Sony, GEN and M33 network update modes
  • XMB
    • Access vshmenu/recovery with the SELECT button.
    • Network Update icon can download directly from the GEN server (adjustable)
We remind the readers that you will need to have a PSP running on at least CFW 3.71 M33 to get 3.95 GEN working on your handheld. As always, don't forget to check out the Readme.txt file included in the file bundle for more information on how to install CFW 3.95 GEN. You can also view additional details on its different functions there.

Is there something wrong?

I've been waiting for a little while for the download to start firing up (Like 20 mins) Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it because it's new?
by sergeidragunov - 2008-06-01 06:44:18
YEAH!

TIME TO UPGRADE! HEHE!
by akadewboy - 2008-06-01 06:47:53
The download is quite large...

Why is the download 25 MB??? Is Sony's 3.95 official update included in it or something?

by Buzbegone - 2008-06-01 07:58:11
Wtf?

It doesn't even work for me I start up the update and it freezes at the PSP loading screen Guess I got lucky with what finding out that the PS1 games and homwbrew don't work Btw, It's gonna be a while before 4.00CFW comes out Sony hasn't even announced it yet (It Still doesn't mean that they're not doing it) It bet that DaX is making his own CFW right now
by K33PY - 2008-06-01 08:04:10
yep it's really crap lol

no homebrew loading at all on my psp. Anybody got and homebrew to work ?
by K33PY - 2008-06-01 08:08:03
ooops

I had 3.95 kernal on lol turned it to 1.50 and guess what still not working. Now where did I put pandora lol
by skoomaeater - 2008-06-01 08:11:23
Works for me

I've tried almost every PS1 game, homebrew, and UMD's (backup and disk) that I own, and it works for me. Good Job Guys!
by K33PY - 2008-06-01 08:13:26
what psp you got

Have you got the slim or phat psp ?
by omegaridley - 2008-06-01 08:17:36
idk...

ive got 3.90 m33-3 This custom firmwares seems to be a good one, and i am considering downloading it, but at the same time, im not.... if anyone thinks i should download this, well, tell me if this CFW is good...
by Dr1ver - 2008-06-01 08:20:28
arrr

so thats what the wait was for the gen update servers
by sage3k - 2008-06-01 08:23:49
So far So good

I just updated my Old PSP Phat and it's working with no issues. CTF's aren't working though. And so far all homebrew that I have attempted to play isn't loading past the boot screen. Maybe an update soon?
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 08:23:59
*sigh*

I hate detractors... Do you people actually think before you speak? 1 - 3.xx Homebrew is working fine! 1.50 Homebrew doesn't work due to the lack of the 1.50 subset... Let's see if the GEN team releases it... 2 - PS1 Emulation works fine through the popsloader... Did you even think that is why it comes included? 3.95 pops does not seem to be working though but I'm guessing they'll fix that... 3 - Plugins seems to function too... I even got rid of the an issue firmware 3.90 m33 used to give me... 4 - The memory stick issues in GAME are gone... Or at least seem to be... I have no lag at all I'd rate this as a 8/10 release because the most interesting features (3.95pops and 1.50 subset) are not available yet... Still its a very good firmware
by niehaus - 2008-06-01 08:33:01
PSP bricked?

I played an ISO (made of Original UMD), after quiting the game a black screen appears ;( took the battery, plugged it in again but nothing but a black screen appears. putting the eboot of the 3.95 GEN update to /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY doesnt work? DO i have to use pandora?
by diasam - 2008-06-01 08:35:54
Working fine

Loaded ISOs, 3.xx Homebrews and PSX Games without errors on PSP Slim.
by Triompf - 2008-06-01 08:36:57
Great job

He did a great job but i stick on 3.90 m33-3
by diasam - 2008-06-01 08:39:29
Fixed Font Issues

This update also fixed the trouble I was having with 3.90 M33-3. With M33 it couldn't recognize files that were in other languages even though the fonts were there (ex. files with Japanese names). This update fixed it and is working perfectly.
by skoomaeater - 2008-06-01 08:39:47
Finally

Finally, someone with some understanding and common sense. And to all you people insulting this, saying it is crap, this is a great release, and trust me, you aren't hurting anyone's feelings by not updating. I'm currently enjoying the sleep function only in 3.93+ in the internet radio player +)
by sage3k - 2008-06-01 08:40:43
**DOUBLE SIGH**

1 - 3.xx Homebrew is working fine! INCORRECT. 2 - PS1 Emulation works fine through the popsloader... NOT, they all boot to a black screen with the optional POP's versions. when one is selected the system freezes. 4 - The memory stick issues in GAME are gone... THIS i can agree on. I have a 16 Gig ms and it's lighting fast. The 3.95Pops and 150subset would be great. but I don't think it will be any time soon. I agree it's pretty solid. 8/10!
by skoomaeater - 2008-06-01 08:42:08
Sounds like a bad flash

I would probably go ahead and Pandbatt it. At can't really lose much +/
by The Patriot - 2008-06-01 08:42:43
Tight...But I Can Wait :)

No Disrespect to the creators of this latest firmware but just as I am with dax I'ma update when they fix all the issues but good job for the most part! :) I hope to use this FW as i want to try it for myself but for right now I'll just stay on 3.90 M33 :) Thanks again and I hope to see some good updates from you guys! :)
by BIH - 2008-06-01 08:44:51
Working great....

Installed a few mints ago works like a charm.... Like the new recovery menu...deffinetly one of the better custom fws not made by DAX... And for the wingers out there ...how about you STFU? learn to code and make your own custom fw to suit you.... You people dont realise that the developers arnt asking for money to make these for us. Also get over the "OMFG DAX DIDNT MAKE THIS, ITS GOTTA SUCK" while Dark Alex is a great dev and i thank him for all his work..there are other great devs too out there and because of you most devs dont want to even release something like this becuase they know idiots will shoot it down, because its not made by Dark Alex.
by BIH - 2008-06-01 08:48:33
Video Install

Sorry for the crap camera uity the best thing i have at the mo but its watchable.... /watch?v+mHyiWXYCz_I replace the + with a +
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 08:49:48
***TRIPLE SIGH*** XD

pops loader works fine for me... I've been testing various game (Castlevania, Brave Fencer Musashi, GTA I + II, and other) and they work like charms... so does all the homebrew 3.xx i've tested... Though right now I only have the fabulous PSPPDA
by sage3k - 2008-06-01 08:50:05
Agreed...

I just found a fix for the POPs issue I had. I changed the Popsloader files for the ones on the Dax site. All Pops are now working great. Great job Team GEN. and funny I am working on my own CFW.. but im not as good as any of the coders from the past. More work and Q/A time for me!!
by sage3k - 2008-06-01 08:54:26
***TRIPLE SIGH*** XD HA!

Nice.. I changed the pops files from the download and they are now working great. The PDA works great as well. Guess I'm good 2 go now!
by Ivory_soul - 2008-06-01 08:59:52
Idiots...

This is why you wait before updating. You just screw yourself and I don't feel sorry for any of you. From what I've seen homebrew doesn't seem to work so I'm holding off until and update it released to fix this. I may even wait for DAX's CFW.
by mohammad7410 - 2008-06-01 09:00:59
Without OFW

I've uploaded the file without Sony's original firmware to make file size a lot less, but you have to download original firmware, here's the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/119339714/3.95_GEN.zip.html here is OFW link: http://du01.psp.update.playstation.org/update/psp/image/us/2008_0408_32720ecf54e656c401ffc92d33fe62d9/EBOOT.PBP

psssssplover

do you at least have a CFW installed? My guess is that you must me on an official FW by Sony... note to 3.93 CFW users: i've been getting reports that the 3.95 GEN installer DOES NOT work on 3.93 CFW...
by psssssplover - 2008-06-01 09:40:00
no

no i have the official fw of sony 3.95 n i downloaded it the put the update into my game folder. i disconeted my psp n went to play it. it showed up n i pressed x for it to start. the it said this game could not be played.
by skoomaeater - 2008-06-01 09:46:17
Both

Both
by skoomaeater - 2008-06-01 09:51:28
That's your problem

You can't install this from any OFW. You need to have a custom firmware installed. If you have friends with custom PSP's they can help you, otherwise you'll need to have someone trustworthy from the list of unbrickers to do it for you. My guess is that you probably won't, so you are pretty much SOL
by psssssplover - 2008-06-01 09:53:11
damn

n there is no other way
by roddollente - 2008-06-01 09:54:33
hmmm..

i can't get my ironman ctf to work. maybe because it's for 3.90 m33? and, ps1 games dont work for me. i tried pressing R button but it doesn't show popsloader, instead, it goes right to the Playtation logo. then the screen goes black. tried it with a couple of games (tactics ogre, castlevania, tekken 3, etc.) but didn't work for me. i tried both popsloader.prx from dax and gen, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. time to play lego indiana jones :)
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 09:58:35
pandora way

only if your friends make you a pandora downgrade... no other way i'm afraid
by roddollente - 2008-06-01 10:00:16
also

homebrews work. :)
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 10:01:06
plugin issue is back

okay... now i'm confused... xD my plugin issue from 3.90m33 is back... if i activate certain plugins the plugin works but the controls in-game do not... anyone has this issue? and for the haters, this also happened in 3.90m33-3 so no its not a 3.95GEN issue
by psssssplover - 2008-06-01 10:01:20
pandora

none of my friends have a pandora battery. where can i buy one
by niehaus - 2008-06-01 10:06:19
successfully unbricked

yes it worked using Pandora CMD tool
by roddollente - 2008-06-01 10:12:34
replace the + with a +?

maybe the + with an +
by roddollente - 2008-06-01 10:15:11
huh?

it doesnt put in the equal sign. lol. replace the plus sign with the equal sign.
by c74gta4smash - 2008-06-01 10:19:29
So *****ing true people

You don't just rush to the first thing. Look at how *****ty cfw 3.93 is. I doubt anyones using it. You have to wait for bug reports and some reviews before you ***** with the flash and give your self limitations. Look before you leap. and you wont have to talk about how *****ty of a deal you got.
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 10:33:43
What the f**k?

lol
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 10:41:28
Hey as*hole, how do I know if it is a bricker you just linked us to?

- Not that I give a flying f*ck anywho.
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 10:47:18
I only use my PSP for PSP games, music, videos,

and maybe pictures for text files converted to bmp. WE DON'T NEED ANY FIRMWARE ABOVE OR BELOW 3.90 UNTIL A CAPCOM, SQUEENIX, OR OTHER BIG COMPANY'S GAME REQUIRE IT! YEAH, WOO.
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 10:49:00
By the way

is there a mass disliking of comments going on around here or what? lmfao
by kevin1003 - 2008-06-01 10:51:28
fatmsmod

it still seems to have ms loading problems. use dax's patch to load 3.71 fatmsmod. tested and is also working on 3.95 gen
by StingBlah - 2008-06-01 10:58:33
what is the point of updating to this?

will someone tell me why I should update to this from 3.90 m33?
by gr8tlegend - 2008-06-01 11:04:54
it happened again

I tried to play my psone game ran pop's loader selected one at random pop's for 3.71 or maybe it 3.72 in any case now my psone game does not want to function .....HELP
by SkipperWarlock - 2008-06-01 11:05:35
WOOT

Gratz on the release! Can't wait to test it out, and hope they release a 1.50 subset and 3.95 POPS.
by josefool213 - 2008-06-01 11:12:19
problem

i just upgraded and i can't get my themes to work on it. can someone help me
by iamback(unregistered) - 2008-06-01 11:37:56
sweet

This firmware looks to be quite spiffy. I especially like how it all modulates together well with the OFW and the m33 firmware updates. Thus, with this, it appears as though you can switch to any firmware you want at will. I'm still waiting for the day where the dark alex will be able to make a firmware that can run on ANY PSP, straight out eboot format (I know all about pandora and time machine; I mean one where you can download an eboot, and let it run. That'd make homebrew totally universally available to anyone with a PC). Anyhow, I think I'll try it out on the PSP Slim that I won from www.swatcash.com/admin They are really spiffy, and have even made a new game where you get paid for just playing a simplistic "battleship" style game. Erm, lol. I think I went slightly off topic there. Anyhow, I look forward to 4.00 Gen :)
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 11:43:29
hmmmm

support for themes seems to be broken... also the fatmsmod issue is nonexistant for me and i didn't have to use the patch...
by degenrise - 2008-06-01 12:07:09
Interesting....

I am trying 3.95 GEN and the things the said would work, work and the things they said may have issues, have issues. The only wierd thing is I cant go into usb mode from recovery. Not the flash modes but the regular usb. Maybe I missed that comment? Not sure. I do however hope they make a fix for cxmb.
by Hekynn - 2008-06-01 12:12:23
hmmm

Jeeez what about 4.0? man cant wait for 4.0 :)
by Rabies - 2008-06-01 12:28:21
whats the BIIIIGGG thing!

I'm not moved by what i saw. downgrade back to 3.90 M33-3. plugin issue, yes.......but recovery is well done......beyond that its #UCKRY.
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 12:42:22
whats the SMAAALLL thing!

why is it "#UCKRY"? it works as well as any DAX firmware and has some of the same bugs, and some fixed (like the msfatmod one) only thing missing is as i said before native 3.95 pops and 1.50 subset... What did you expect? You're psp turning into a psp toaster? If you have nothing to talk about then just don't... Its utterly not needed... On the pspgen.com forums MaXiCieN said that a fix for themes support is coming...
by niehaus - 2008-06-01 12:46:26
3.93->3.95 Test Indiana Jones under 395 as ISO->bricked PSP

Perhaps this can help the developers to improve their CFW ;) Upgraded from 3.93 to 3.95, then I tested Lego Indiana Jones(ISO) under 3.95 GEN After quitting the game I had a black screen. after turning fully off an on:still black. This bricked my PSP. Got it running again with Pandora ;) Any idea why this happened?
by degenrise - 2008-06-01 12:59:05
snes emulator probs

I have also found that the snes emulator is not working. It gets to the rom selection fine. When I try to load a rom it freezes. There obviously are still some bugs. I do however feel that they will fix the problems though.
by KyyubiDX - 2008-06-01 13:06:47
hmmmmmm - part 2

well I've had no problems whatsoever up till now with games... so nope... no idea why your psp got bricked... sorry... as for the emulator problem... i haven't tested any... maybe i should just for kicks :P as for the plugin issue well i just found out the reason :P seems like cwcheat locks up the keyboard for some reason... must be misconfiguration
by frostbitehunter - 2008-06-01 13:09:33
3.95 buggy

cxmb didnt work.didnt test the others but i like the option of custom themes and it just froze trying to restart in cxmb mode so what did i do.i tried to reflash to 3.71 m33,i was selected on the gen server option still though so of course i was frozen.luckily my mss also has the setup to go to ofw so i did that and fixed self.now i gotta repandorize to 3.71 m33 and update again but meh.so if you find this to be an issue, now ya know how to fix it.assuming you got the totalnewbi setup files just press o upgrade to ofw 3.95 then pandorize back to fix errors

PSPTube

The Latest PSPTube Doesn't Work On This Firmware Which Sucks.. I'm Downgrading.. BTW can someone help every time i exit skype or select the camera my psp crashes any help?
by fourmyfriends - 2008-06-01 14:23:09
Works Beautifully

Just remember to check your settings everybody. Go to your recovery menu, make sure you region emulation didn't get switched, mine did, it ended up on Europe instead of US somehow. Also my no-umd was on normal instead of m33, network updates where set to sony. I moved all my setting back to the way I like them, and everything works wonderfully. Also love to see the option to make a pandora battery in the recovery by default. got vice city cso running with cheatdevice plugin no problems. load time seems faster on it. Stakker loaded with no problems, internet is fine, MP3 is fine, I dont see any problems, but i haven't tried any psx games yet, to lazy to load one on the memory stick. Innovative in it's own right, functional, overall I'm very impressed 9/10
by Metal Jody - 2008-06-01 15:48:16
too many problems I hear about 3.95 GEN

I don't think I'll update to this one. I read that PSPtube doesn't work and camera icon crashes it. this is an absolute "no" for me. sticking with 3.90 M33-3 ^_^
by J2Jack - 2008-06-01 16:07:59
Wow

It did get released Shit!
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 16:12:07
Yep, I was right. *****s.

"dey be drinkin dat haterade"
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 16:14:26
Yeah lol

its dooms day. *cue star rape*
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 16:21:07
I see we are on the same line of thought.

Perhaps its fun making custom firmwares? err anyways, hmmmm, a reason to upgrade to 3.95 GEN..hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... .. ...nope, nothing comes up. No reason at all to use/upgrade to 3.95 GEN. Correct me if I missed something, don't just be a lazy as* star thief. LOL
by UltimaArmorX - 2008-06-01 16:32:10
Yay 4.0, 10 times faster than 3.0, right?

4.0 is gonna be the bomb. I can't wait to play rune scape on my PSP with flash 9 in my browser, and maybe bar bq some fat steaks while my wife plays the next tetris (ps2 emulator) all while having SonyTorrent download 5 different anime which I paid a total of 20 dollars for. I can't f*cling wait! /sarcasm

help

if this is an update for 3.95 why do i need a cfw to use it. i have 3.95 ofw so if someone can help me to get it working
by sergeidragunov - 2008-06-01 17:56:59
hmm. 395 gen is indeed crappy

psp classic ver. 3.93 w/ 150 subset upgrade to 3.95 gen plugins working on my psp --vshmenu.prx --music.prx[GAME] --screenshotbmp.prx[GAME] these are ok to enable and the psp wont freeze at start up. plugins not working on my psp --cxmb.prx --joysens.prx whenever i try to enable these plugins and then exit recovery menu, my psp will freeze and turn off just before the start-up screen. however, if i disable these plugins---everything works smoothly. on 393 w/ 150 subset --when quitting a game(ISO) its fast to return to home menu on 395 gen --when quitting a game(ISO) its a little slow to return to home menu. anybody else notice this?!
by Wally12 - 2008-06-01 18:27:33
Should I upgrade and if so, why?

I have fat PSP running M33 CFW 3.71. Is this CFW made by M33? Also, should I upgrade my PSP, and why?
by GH[ ]ST - 2008-06-01 18:44:24
I do think so...

I think so! I love the new Recovery features but the only down fall of it was that stupid pink text looks so out of place [Not that it matters].I haven't found anything to be wrong with it so far but I haven't tried 1.50 games on it yet.But really with all the older games and apps going to 3.xx versions...does it really need that 1.50 add-on?

when upgrading,,,

pls.. when upgrading,, disable all your plugins in the recovery menu... there are times that your psp will be brick,,, and always make your nand-dump.. using nand manager .. here is the link... http://www.geocities.jp/minerva4096/bin/NandManager_v0.51.zip

I dont like it much.....

I have given 3.95 a fair trial and at this point, have decided to go back to the reliable 3.90 m33. 3.95 gen is to buggy and not worth missing out on the things that are compatible with the m33 cfw. I hope they keep up the work and get it less buggy. When that happens, I will give it another shot.

Help with pop's

I used the pop's loader on this firmware and just like my previous firmwares when I selected a pop's from the popsloader I got a black screen it does not proceed to the game. I need help.
by digicron - 2008-06-01 19:33:29
tough cookies

you need a CFW to upgrade to this CFW because you cannot go to a CFW from an OFW . as other people have said to you before, you need someone with a Pandora batt so you can go back to 1.50 then upgrade to the CFW of your choice. you are basically screwed if you dont know anyone with a pandora batt. sony is not going to just allow you to put on a CFW with ease.

My 2 cents

Hi All, New here but not new to the site or PSP CFW. Just thought I'd post my upgradde experience to 3.95 GEN. They added the iso video mount back! Sweet! - Got some work to do. Cutoms gameboot and flash0 customizations (background and wave) are gone. Time machine no longer works to boot slim in to 1.50 mode. I'm guessing this is due to firmware change. This happened on my fat as well when I reverted 3.93 GEN back to 3.90 m33-3. I'm going to update my fat to 3.95GEN, restore my flash0 updates, reinstall timemachine, then test 1.50 homebrew and PS1 games and I will report back when done. UPDATE - OK, I've successfully restored my slims flash0 customizations and fixed timemachine - I have a memstick with all the TM files on it so I simply needed to re-run the setup under 1.50 for the slim. Now to upgrade the fat. Fat is completed pretty much the same as the slim except I did not have to re-install timemachine. BONUS! Not going to test every homebrew and iso/cso and PS1 game right now. Thus far, looks like all 3.90 M33-3 functionality is retained plus some GEN additions to the recovery as well as being able to configure either VSH or Recovery menus when you press select which is cool. And anything CFW 3.95 offers on top of it. So thumbs up so far - And I like the ability to switch the network update to NONE, Sony, M33 or GEN. I think that was really kewl of them. I've tested PS1 games and they work fine without enabling poploader prx. Also the 1.50 issue doesn't apply to me since I use timemachine which works fine as you can see from my previos statements on the topic. So all homebrew (1.50 via timemachine) seems to be working without issue. I tend not to use many pugins if any. Tomrrow I'll test pikey on my fat, that's a biggy for me. I've heard cxmb doesn't work but i don't use it. Perhaps over the next day or so they'll be more info on it. Maybe a work around or something. That's it for now. Yes, I'm a hige fan of 3.90 m33 and I tried 3.93 GEN - I ended up reverting my fat to 3.90 m33-3 and leaving my slim on 3.93 GEN. So far as I use my PSP - no issues at all to report and I've put them both on 3.95 GEN. I also seemlessly share mem sticks between them, real ones and fake ones. -Sinphaltimus

Idiot...

We have a cool thing called PANDORA. So what if people want to update, the human nature is like that, CURIOUS. I didn't update, but that's because I don't have a Pandora currently and there aren't many themes that work with 3.95 GEN.
by JaXeRiR - 2008-06-01 23:23:00
...

You need a thing called Pandora's Battery to get custom firmware...
by gr8tlegend - 2008-06-01 23:36:23
ok....but still

Thats all gr8 I don't doubt that it may work on some peoples psp's but it's not working on mine. all I want is my psone functionality back. everything worked fine until about 2 upgrades ago . like right around 3.90 is when I lost it. idk what happened . maybe I just have crappy psone version's i had to get new ones because my hard drive got wiped. It might have been the pop's loader 2 . right when I was experimenting with that is right when it stopped working . if anyone can help me with this problem I'm listening...
by Bolec - 2008-06-02 01:48:58
everything works for me

so I think you just have a crappy PSP :D
by exile - 2008-06-02 04:15:51
meh

i just hope they bring out an update very, very soon that make the /psp/game/recovery/eboot work, because unlike most people i dnt have the luxury of a pandora battary.
by Sinphaltimus - 2008-06-02 07:36:55
Have you tried?

Disabling popsloader.prx? I would wipe your memstick and start again from scratch. Something on your memstick probably isn't right. Also try formatting flash0 via recovery.

HEX

check it using hex editor, it's not a bricker, but I wish it was, the CFW crashed my slim psp 2 times in the xmb, returning to 3.90M33-3
by josefool213 - 2008-06-02 09:43:12
hate it

ever since i got this, my psp is messed up. if turn it off and try to turn it on again it doesnt go on. the green light turns on but nothing happens. i have to connect my charger and take the battery for it to turn on properly.
by niehaus - 2008-06-02 09:48:43
NO PROBLEM!!! REALLY

U Can make a pandora battery from Recovery menu in 395 GEN, the Pandora Memstick can easily be created by using Pandora CMD. ICQ me (50063647) if u got problems^^ Note: Pandora CMD will make a 3.80m33 Pandora memstick, notcapable to UNpandora your battery So, u'll have to run in wired-power only (w/o the battery) !AFTER u got to 3.80m33! Pandora-ed battery makes problems after restart So u need corly's tool(3.80m33 compatible) to UNpandaro your battery to normal mode. no big thing: the program just alters the serial number of your battery(which, with pandorized serial, makes ur psp able to boot from pandorized memstick, instead of the bricked or semi bricked psp internal memory/system)!
by niehaus - 2008-06-02 10:08:52
yeah

this release is nice but still buggy try pandora
by gr8tlegend - 2008-06-02 10:41:40
I haven't tried that yet

I haven't tried that yet. believe it or not even though I've been upgrading and downgrading since I got my psp I have never maunally flashed my psp like that. I thought it was a firmware issue because it does the same thing on my dad's fat psp. when I disable the prx the game doesn't work at all . but what am I saying it doesn't work now anyway I will use the flash 0 and report back.
by niehaus - 2008-06-02 11:41:53

Ignore any jerks, there are some. And I don't mean to plug a website here but yooze guys at QJ must know the site. We practically worship this place. I send folks here all the time. So I hope no one minds at all.

Under the microscope

I flashed my dad's phat and launched tomba it worked without pop's on 3.90 however final fantasy 7 did not. it turns out that the copy only had key's for disk 3 and the reason it might be freezing is because I copied that key to disk one and two . maybe i'm not sure how the "keys" work....but still no psone game on my 3.95 gen and pop's doesn't not work it freezes when I select a pop's???

recovery menu question

i hvnt downloaded this yet. thinking of upgrading to this. can u pandorise or unpandorise psp battery in the recovery menu? just needed to know before upgrading. thnks

Wait for official M33 firmware. Avoid GEN.

I agree with many people on this thread. There is nothing really appealing about the new 3.95 GEN firmware. Also, if you update, you lost a lot of functionality of 3.90 M33-3. I was unable to use: - CXMB (which is obvious) - Snes9xtyl (Freezes PSP when loading a game) In other words, you lose some cool features that you can have with M33 and some homebrew doesn't work. Don't make the same mistake I made and upgrade just because it's "new." I eventually downgraded using DAX universal unbricker\downgrader. So I recommend waiting for the next official M33 firmware than going with GEN. Why try to upgrade something that is awesome as is?

PSP tube

someone who try psptube in this CFW, is it work bcoz myn wont work
by Sinphaltimus - 2008-06-05 05:01:38
Cxmb -

This seems to be an issue for all - the pluggin needs to be rewritten - as for Snes9xtyl, I'm running Snes9xtylme 0.4.2 without any issues. It might be because I am running timemachine and booting in to 1.50 to run it. The main reason I installed 3.95 GEN is because I I want to access the fill recovery menu and all the new features in it from XMB without the use of a plugin. AND, I want the mount video iso feature (which was missing from 3.93 GEN). I enjoy being one of the first to adopt something new and test it and see how it is. Since I have no known issues, I am sticking with it. However, if I found just one limitation in my personal use I would drop it in a heart beat and go back to 3.90 M33 since I didn't have any known issues with that either. To each their own.
