becus25 has released yet another version of his alternative custom firmware. Now known as Custom Firmware 1.62 IE-C Update 2, the updates in this one allow for quick access to Devhook and enabling or disabling the network update function.Here's becus25's changelog for this version:
- When you press WLAN Up, the PSP load Devhook (like autoboot) to start a emulation of one firmware. (put some version of DeviceHook [eboot.pbp] on pspsystem with the name of devhookforsystem.pbp)
- · Added section "Hacks" on recovery menu
- From this section you can do this :
- Enable NETWORK UPDATE
- Disable NETWORK UPDATE

before you all start criticizing this custom firmware, consider this. Without a doubt, Dark Alex's firmware is a preferred choice over this, but since DAX is involved in other projects, its seems now he is only making releases after official firmware updates, which is fine for me. But since becus25 is dedicating all of his time to bringing this to us, and with frequent updates, there might come a day where features are added to make it surpasses DAX's CFW.
He is a developer, and like all developers, he needs proper feedback from the public to advanced his work. Bad critisism will only hinder his advancement.
What if the long lost N64 emulator, "monkey64" came back to the scene. It most likely would not compare to Daedalus, but it could...someday.
This is exactly like when Dark_Alex started making custom firmwares they started of as proof of concept then they became 2.71 SE firmwares then to OE . This custom firmware will get better and better as it goes on , Right now because is updating his firmware more then Dark_Alex

"ok" is correct and I have been shouting this at all the lamer flamers here that start to diss every time becus25 releases something. Stop being stupid and start giving proper feed back. Test the app, state it's issues or your likes about it. If you want to be negitive go post else where like in a Jack-ASS Thopmson thread, hate there all you want but be cool here. With that said, good luck to each of you in the testing field.
this guy is a good coder. His firmwares are awesome! Keep it up and beat the hell outa dax. btw you should have custom firmirized 2.00 so it had a web browser.

However, I would like to see 3.00 feature on 1.5 because 1.5 is pretty useless this is not to include POPS.
Just wondering...couldn't he hack the 3.0 like dark alex... (I am not saying he going to make POPS working because even booster can't even do it)...
Long stories short, becus25 should have make 3.0 custom firmware and UPDATE more with his own features.....
But damn...booster ain't release any new devhook for firmware 3.40..so no ISO playablity..
At wowowo nobody is saying lets beat the hell outa dax, dax's release are *****ing awsome, but this firmware is also awsome in its own right, basically this is designed for people who want to stay at 1.50 and use Devhook instead of upgrading to higher updates, but still have some better advantages. - for instance the recovery menu.

That isn't such a great thing, ok its great for better features, but people don't want to be updating all the time, its gets annoying, dax's releases where coming out thick and fast at the start, but this wasa due to new features being added when it was in it's early stages, now it's slowed down because there are only so many features that can be added. Soon becus25 releases will dwindle when it becomes more stable and he decides it has as many features as it needs.
I agree with you completely. DAX's work has decreased greatly, and he will soon become a nobody. I welcome this new homebrew god to the scene, and feel that this superior firmware will be in every PSP handheld across the world.
becus25 is man who i think will become the worlds greatest coder, praised and worshiped from the outer and inner depths of the gaming community. Not just PSP owners either, I personally do not have this specific console, but I am a true follower.
I think I might just name my kids after him. I already call my wife becup69.
I dont think Dark_Alex is going to be making to many firmwares he doesn't really update them either
