Let's try this again, shall we? Team Typhoon has released R2 of their ChickHEN Homebrew Enabler. If you'll recall, the release we got yesterday only booted to a HEN environment but didn't really let you run homebrew. This one does. Here's the changelog:
- Now supports homebrew
- Homebrew Support enhanced
- Tiff image blocking in HEN (displays unsupported)

Now that's what we want! Next time test it more before you release ;) but great job. Now someone needs to make a homebrew app that lets you load backups and then everything's fine. I'll then sell my psp slim and get the 3000 :D

yup just tried it on my friends 3000 boots homebrew perfectly now all we need is a iso/cso loader
Still just crashes my psp slim 3000 with a thud....tried many times....just freezes and then shuts off with a hard click from the speaker....???????

CFW will always be better than this, and this wont help with installing CFW.

I never really said that CFW sucks or anything. You're very off-topic. But yes, this will help install CFW because you'll be able to load up some kernal that isn't available just through TIFF alone. HEN always came before CFW. It's just a fact. Without it, we wouldn't have CFW.
it's a hit and miss. so, if it doesn't work the first time try it again and again until it loads. hopefully, we get to homebrew heaven with this one. :)

A couple of tips for those having trouble: Go to System>System Default Settings and go through with it. You can change stuff back later. Put the ChickHEN Tiff Folder in PSP/PHOTO. Putting it in PICTURES may work, but I'm going off of what worked quick for me. Put the H.bin file on the root of the memory card... yep, right next to PSP, VIDEO, PICTURES etc. folders. NOT in MP_ROOT and please don't make a MS_ROOT folder. Now, go to the PHOTO tab, look inside the ChickHEN folder, wait, and most likely the system will freeze, go to a blank screen and the speakers will make a popping noise. This means it hasn't worked yet. Turn the system on again, try it again, and it SHOULD work. It'll freeze like last time, but it will look all garbled and stuff, then a Green screen and then it will reboot itself. Check the system info and it now should say ChickHEN 5.03. Good luck!

iso/cso would be supported! davee, davee, davee... why are u doing this to me?! if no dev is going to make an iso loader for this psp 3004 ill make a video of smashing a brandnew PSP 3004 Radiant Red Carnival on the wall and smashing it again on the ground and put it on youtube!

Anyone who needs the ISO/CSO loader should try to mod previous releases of devhook. The coders have done enough for us by allowing us to boot into a HEN environment. Releasing an ISO loader now will further increase piracy because a pandora battery is no longer need and its effortless to boot a 3000 into the HEN environment. I say don't release it, piracy has really hurt the quality and the quantity of games for our beloved PSP. Most people do own the actual UMD disc, but only a certain few ruin it for the rest who really do respect piracy governing laws.
i just wanted to know, is it safe to change the ofw to 5.03, what if dax comes out with a m33 for psp 3000 and i've messed the chances of hacking my psp then, just a doubt plus i dont want to brick my psp,,,,,,, i am hoping for cfw,,,,, go ahead and flame me i dont care, truth be told if i knew that psp could not be hacked i would have never have bought it, sony has just made a profit of me, cause its like an expensive paper weight for me. even to just to watch movies on it i have to do piracy (converting of movies to psp format is also voilating the law, copies of movies should not be made but heck you guys dont consider it piracy right) and i dont think its actually worth buying umd movies. and please dont tell buy your games, i've had enough of hypocrtic anti pirates
Dude making a crappy loader is trash, its all about DA getting CFW install on the 3k. It should be only a matter of weeks or months, I remember when DA release CFW and then letting us play PS1 games it was exactly during Christmas, maybe till then but Im just looking forward to the new PSP model rumor.
WTF are you doing in the PSP Scene then, everyone that knows about hacking a PSP has one that runs backups so STFU already you freaking hypocrites. What good can a PSP do if it doesn't run backups nothing really, and compare to how many PSP are sold only a few know about CFW i doubt we have millions of PSP users on this site.
Everybody who wants an iso loader, just do what we did back in the day before custom firmwares when all we had was a HEN...use DEVHOOK. It should still be in the downloads section of QJ somewhere. But if I remember correctly, I think it only supports .iso and .dax files. I'm not entirely sure that .cso files are supported, I don't remember when they came along.
This is cool as im finally glad to be able to easily hack a new psp. I've been putting off getting a new one for this reason. You have to determine what your going to use your hacked psp for. to play backed up games you should prolly look at a older slim or a phat. I backed up all my games and sold them back a while ago after i lost work. But i would like to see cfw come to the new psp's again. plugin support was amazing. and playing psx games was worth it. so just keep your fingers crossed
but do u doubt that a lot of people go on team Noobz or DAX's website P.S. not tring to throw flames but there are several websites that give homebrew not just this 1
It looks like theres wi-fi trouble on a couple apps. but can anyone confirm that picodrive, gpsp and a version of the snes emu work?
Picodrive and Gpsp work freaking perfectly, although some games will cause the psp to freeze and turn completely off, then you have to redo the chickHEN. Which sucks.
Those are the main programs i intend on using so :) still thinking about getting a psp 2000 tho so i have ISO/CSO support. but hopefully news will run our way reguarding this
USBLOADER loads and maps usb path, running psphost on pc. Game Backups don't load but you can see the list of them. Sweet almost there.
