CFW SE/OE Easy Version Changer v5 |
Ó
It's a rather long name but we're telling you, you shouldn't forget about this one as it is highly important. To those who haven't heard about this app yet, it actually allows for changing the version displayed in Custom Firmware SE/OE system settings without hex editing or manual flashing. And unlike the familiar application X-flash, this supports characters other than just 1.00-9.99.
Add to this a little imagination and some other brilliant applications and you will see your PSP customized in ways you haven't even dreamt of. And just like other homebrew apps, please be sure to browse through the accompanying readme file. Dabomstew mentioned that this one is tested and working fine for his own 3.03 OE-A and 3.02 OE-B units, but it never hurts to be always safe with the things you try on your PSPs.
Changelog for Easy Version change v5:
- Supports all 2.71 SE versions and 3.03 OE-C
- Automatically detects your firmware version
- Slight layout changes

Nice program, my version nember gotta be ownd:P
3.03 OE-C doesn't support X-Flash yet.
And X-Flash only supports normal characters.
Just to let everybody know, the system version in OE-C is stored in vshctrl.prx (kn) not systemctrl.prx
this is kool but i wish i could add more characters
so why do i need this?
why do you need to spoof your firmware?
does it allow you you to, for example, make your firmware think its 1.0 then 'upgrade' to 1.5?
it its just litterally for show i really dont see the point!
look at the latest version of x-flash beforeyou post this crap you can change your version to what ever your name is on the latest version! so that means....duh your version can be anything you want!
freekin idiots!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
wered u get that kool background?
im not saying that this is useless its just that when the article says false information (And unlike the familiar application X-flash, this supports characters other than just 1.00-9.99.) like that it makes me rant
and yes i will be using this with my oe-c psp
yeah i want that background its cool i cant find it
i doubt anyone does, but if you know where i can get that background, id be grateful.
THE BACKGROUND IS HERE

Anyone who actually uses stuff like this is retarded.
Why would someone waste their time creating this load of crapola? Speaking of crapola, I just dropped a few at the pond, if you know what I mean... and they're more useful for my psp than changing the name of my firmware.
Why must everyone be such an ***** when it comes to free stuff? If you don't want to use it, that's your business. As for me, I think it's a good idea and I think I'll use it to get rid of the OE-C at the end of the firmware name.
Regardless of whether or not it's a good application, the fact is that anything that adds to the PSP homebrew scene can ONLY be good.
'Nuff said.
... is there any point in changing you fw version, apart from setting it to 6.66 cos' it's cool?
No, there's really no functional point in setting the firmware to a different name/number (save for the fact that if you're PSP is stolen, you could always identify it by some odd firmware name).
But really, it's just something that's kind of cool to have/do.
I changed it my firmware number form 3.03 oe-c to 3.03 to show my friend i can run homebrew on 3.03. he gave my 50bucks to show him how to do it.
smart
Does it work for a 3.03 OE-B
