With all the recent developments within the PSP homebrew scene, it's actually starting to get a bit confusing to keep track of everything as releases have been coming out one after the other. This time around, though, we have yet another release that just might make people happy for today. Over at the PSPCreative forums, french developer Dr. Download has just released the BETA version of his own Custom Firmware 3.00 SE.
For those who wish to test out this program, the creator has included some installation notes. Unfortunately, it's all in French, and we have to rely on Google Translate for this, so please bear with us:
- You must be in 271SE C
- To copy contained file from your Memory Stick
- To copy the DATA.PSAR of firmware 3.00/3.01 with the root of Memory Stick
- To launch PSARDUMPER
- To launch the install of the 300SE
- Navigator off
- Management of the food(?) off (not to try to go there the psp goes freeze)

I have it now. It works fine. Going to system settings will reflash Flash1. (BSOD)
This sounds like a definite step in the right direction. I wonder how this will compare to 2.71 SE in terms of functionality and compatibility once it's further developed.
well once they get all the bugs out im quite sure it will be better. Lets rip SONY a new one~!!!! ^^

Ha Ha, this is great! Great job guys, maybe you can collaborate with Dark_Alex and work out the bugs, and make the big 3.0, the new 1.5! Congrats!
I found some bugs. And some 1/2 bugs. And some good bugs! 1) Go to system settings. You get the BSOD. The PSP will display the coldboot and the intial setup will pop up. Then the PSP will freeze. When you restart it, Flash1 will be rewritten. System settings will work after this. 2) Some features don't work due to the limited space in the flash Sad 3) Not really a bug, but system information says it's 2.71 4) Disabling the prx that it came with in the seplugins folder will disable the use of ISO's. 5) Going to Power Save Settings crashes the PSP 6) Network update is disabled! Yay!
i'm the original creator of this mod with help from FWi, this dr downloads ***** is just a guy who made an installer of my mod and claimed he did everything. don't believe me qj, check at maxconsole ow long my mod has been out. do not use this guys mod, it's bugged to hell and he's an idiot. qj get your facts right next time please

sounds great anyone else test it wich is better 1.5 psp with dev h 2.82 or 2.7 se or this i could help translate text i speak french and spanish also if that helps
Damn, after reading the headline it started to get exciting, but it's only a custom firmware, and you gotta be in 2.71. when will we 3.0 users get something interested.
anybody with this know if you can still hold R on a coldboot and use the recovery mode
1.00 eboots don't work :-(
how's the ps3 connectivity, ps1 games, and/or ISO & Homebrew? If it's exactly like 2.71 SE with 3.00 features, i'll do it

Well, "Management of the food" (as it's translated) means "Power save settings".
I can confirm that this is nothing more than a 2.71 SE C mod with 3.0 files installed. Team FWI (Firmware Investigators) Created this and have posted on Maxconsole many times before this person stole it an took the credit.
they even have vids of it on youtube, btw whats the iso situation on this, can it play 2.81+ iso without devhook?

ok, the original idea and the implementation comes frim burdman and kando and the other membemrs of team FWi, theyre the one responsible on bringing this idea to life with their brave attempt on flashing their own psp's.. i know, coz ive been in theyre thread everytime... trying to refresh every minute just to see new replys... this dr download steals all the work and now releasing this buggy firmware.. *****s like this dont deserve to be in front of QJ.. please respect the team that does this.. dr download sucks ass... damn.. now i know why DA quits the scene...

I don't like this new one too much. Too many bugs. Wait until the non-BETA release ;-) Most homebrew doesn't work. :-(
