TyDoPad v0.01 - PSP wireless keyboard app - Image 1Yesterday saw the release of madruscoe's revolutionary wireless IR keyboard application, TyDoPad, for the PSP; and now you can get yourself a piece of the pie!

That's right, madruscoe has decided to release the source code of TyDoPad v0.01 to allow developers to make their own applications which will support this keyboard, so if you're coding a new application which sends e-mails or something similar, then this may prove useful!

The tough nut to crack at the moment is getting this wireless keyboard interpreter to work as a PRX plugin for Dark_Alex's 3.03 OE custom firmware. If someone manages to convert this source code into something which will work as a PRX then any homebrewer running this firmware will be able to use the keyboard at any time - in a UMD game, playing a homebrew game, or most importantly, while browsing the web on your PSP. So this is your calling devs - get to work!

I knew it

I knew I sensed something disturbing in the Force around that so called "PSP keyboard" device.... Now THAT is something BIG :)
by Crazy_Chris - 2007-01-20 14:26:46

why

i wonder why qj is releasing as news every thing they find :-) readers dont care about the code... what a news :-) its a long way to the prx... (first i try to modify links for keyboard support)
by - 2007-01-20 14:49:39
.

i care about the source.. devs who read this care about the source you care about the source cos devs care about it. see??

windows 95

It would be cool to use this keyboard for the windows 95 emulator.
by - 2007-01-20 15:23:44
Yay! ...not.

Great, source code for something that is useless and clunky. I'm suuuuure a dev will use this code in their apps...
by - 2007-01-20 15:48:10
why

We are reporting on this because a wide range of developers may to to implement this in thier programs, so even if a PRX isn't released too soon there'll be applications which you can use the keyboard with.
by - 2007-01-20 16:33:25
There will be

Coming soon PSP95.
by - 2007-01-20 16:36:02
.

thats the point of releasing source code - so other devs can improve on the app. it is just a POC by the way. ungrateful...
by - 2007-01-20 16:38:47
awwww

you all just mad the DS doesnt have it. You DS kids realize, coming here and insulting PSP devs makes the DS community look immature.....
by - 2007-01-20 17:19:55

hey!

anyone else really want to use this with dosbox, ScummVM, and stuff ^.^ now if only dosbox actually worked with rebel assault 1....
by - 2007-01-20 19:58:16
Well Done!

You have made a Perfect application for the Psp and releasing the source was good to get other dev's to get started working on it to. I hope there will be a PRX EVERY BODY JUMP THIS UP
by Atarian - 2007-01-20 20:29:46
well

if they didnt, people would be complaining that they arent keeping up with the news.
by - 2007-01-20 22:00:07
Good job

Very generous to give out your source code, good on you!
by - 2007-01-20 22:10:53
Sweet!!!

The source code is there... if I get some time I think that I may look into trying to do a driver for the Wireless IR Stowaway keyboard as it is one of the most popular keyboards out there - and I have a few. Thanks!!!
by - 2007-01-21 03:08:32
..

I agree to that, though it's not a windows emulator, it's a x86 emulator/virtual machine, I'd rather run linux with keyboard on it.. btw why don't he release the sourcecode? it has said for ages that he will post the source asap on his site...
by - 2007-01-21 06:53:26
Only $200?

I spent much more than that. $90 for 4gb $120 on new games $80 on used games $10 on umd movie $50 random other psp stuff total + $350 I will continue spending money on PSP stuff :P

$90 for a 4gig memory card?!?! WHERE?! I MUST KNOW!!
by - 2007-01-21 09:35:29

lmao, wtf are you talking about? Noone has said anything about the DS besides you, plus the ds has a touch screen, so theres no need to worry about a keyboard..... I own both systems, so far i like the psp better because of the browser, but the DS isnt bad.
