Artillery Shell

Taking a break from the onslaught of Press Releases and other news from E3, lets check out some amazing homebrew! Blue2k from our forums has just released the updated version of his awesome shell, Artillery. And it simply freakin' rocks! The looks are great. Where PSIX looks clean and cool, and PSP-OSS looks classic, this shell looks cutting-edge. And it works great too. Artillery Shell is the work of Blue, Affinity, Ciddan.

Here's the feature list in the latest version:
  • MP3 Playlist
  • PSP Remote support for MP3 Player
  • Multiple themes support
  • In-Shell theme switching
  • Configurable icons on desktop
  • Custom icons on desktop (launch homebrew)
  • Extended config support
  • Extended theming support
  • Info displays added to LCD
  • And a lot of fixes
  • 3 Themes included
And that's not all! Like always, his Live Fire service will get you the latest bleedin' edge updates hot from the compiler.

» Flaming = Ban

I will not tolerate any derogatory comments against other shells. Keep your flames to yourself.

Flaming will lead to an immediate ban. You have been warned.

There's a massive 14 comments! (inc this one)

Yet you couldn't read through them to see the post where someone answered that already?

Urgh.

Anyways, 1.50 only.

Glad I've got a white PSP on 2.70 and a black PSP on 1.50!

"Admins can be such *****suckers here. "I will not tolerate any derogatory comments against other shells. Keep your flames to yourself. Flaming will lead to an immediate ban. You have been warned." I know it's cliche to say, but what a bunch of *****in Nazi's I swear to God. I'm glad I was banned from the forums here, psphacker is a much better site and actually post...get this...real PSP news."

glad to hear your thoughts.

now please bugger off to your preferred site.

you won't be missed

Looks awesome but... I don't see the point a shell except for iR Shell which rules.

» ?

Question. Would it be possible to make a shell for 2.7 using its flash capabilities--like thepspaint thing--?

by MacLeod - 2006-05-12 12:40
» Wanted

This looks like it is coming along brilliantly. As a pro member for psix I haven't heard much going on from them in a while and any homebrew development news is always good. I don't really have much of a need for a replacement shell but if I did this would be it.

Features I would need to see for me to use daily:

Inbuilt ISO loader for backed-up ISO's on memcard

RSS Reader.

Browser.

I know that there are RSS readers and browsers out there, but once they are themed the same and built into a shell it will be great.

Currently the links browser looks like the best browsing will get. I hope not... hopefully development of links for xbox will carry-thru to improvements for psp.

» Homebrew

You guys, read the readme for all the info on how to get homebrew and desktop icons up and running with the shell. There is a separate section in there regarind how to to this. For a pointer, check out the readme and icons.cfg (located in each of the themes-folder subfolder)

by Vice - 2006-05-12 21:49
» hmm

i have noticed the other versions as being simple to use and understand. this is not what i was plannin to have in mind with the next release. how about simplified homebrew detection, i mean the homebrew is always in the game folder, cant u make the path directory to that and thats it, the custom icon stuff is nice but make it simpler, like pressing a button under the homebrew u select and being able to choose the image icon without having todo all the work thats in this version.

sry im just a newbie i guess, i guess this homebrew is for the more advanced users, so i guess ppl like me wont be able to use it.

by vice - 2006-05-12 21:53

Nice werk guys, but i do have to complain. I think its kinda rediculous that we have to go in and modify the cfg script in order for all our homebrew to come up in the list. Sorry but I would like a shell that does that already, oh snap there is one. But according to post #2 I can't compare you to psi*. You guys did a nice job with the graphics and stuff, i wish you could change the audio player so that it recognizes folders that mp3s are in. and maybe the homebrew part could automatically detect the said homebrew's icon.

All in all a good effort, but lacking in key areas(homebrew icons, mp3 folders, Movie player that werks)

I would have to rate this out of 10 where 1 being the lowest and 10 being the best. You guys get a 6.

IMO that how it feels.

How do i get the MP3's to work?

by Xéfir - 2006-05-13 04:02
» MP4 support

would be necessary that it makes an assumption of responsibility of

the vidéos in MP4 that would be really perfect with that
