Alternative VSHMenu v4.0 |
Ó
Homebrew developer Red_Squirrel has updated the Alternative VSHMenu to version 4.0. This comes as a pleasant surprise to the homebrew community considering that the developer previously announced that the Alternative VSHMenu v3.5 would be the last update for the plug-in.
For those who missed our previous coverage, this plugin is essentially an expanded version of the M33 VshMenu. It has all of the features of the previous versions (including the ability to take screenshots) and adds some new innovative ones.
The changes made to the application are pretty extensive. Here's a list of all the changes as taken from the developers release thread:
- Added a security check to the plugin.
- This because of a lamer team, called "Team Just Dead", creator (but I have some doubt about it too...) of the "JD-Battery", that when I released the v3.5 they diffused a hex-edit spanish version of my Alternative VSHMenù saying that they were its programmers and creators...
- Added the NO PIC0 AND PIC1 function
- Added the GAME KERNEL function for PSP Fat
- Added the USB CHARGE function for PSP Slim.
- GAME KERNEL and USBCHARGE functions share the same line, so if you use Alternative VSHMenù on a PSP Fat the GAME KERNEL function will appear, otherwise on a Slim the function USB CHEARGE will appear.
- Now when you change one of the functions that requires the reboot of the console to be applied (Game Kernel, USB Charge, M33 Network Update, No Pic1.png and Pic0.png), Dashboard will be restarted automatically, applying the change!
- Some minor bugfix and improvement to the code.

I really liked 3.5 so I am sure this will be better.
I have a PSP SLIM on 3.90M33-2 and it won't start.
It was making fun of me. Almost right after I posted my message, (And ate lunch) it worked. : P
Does work for me, I installed it correctly too...
Won't work again. It worked for a while when I changed my theme (XMB). Now it won't.
Doesn't**
This is really weird...
I get a ms orange death and it shuts down.
I recently formatted my stick (it was showing issues with saving in Wipeout Pulse), but I don't think that matters. Are you guys also deleting the "RS" folder inside your SEplugins folder? You can't have it use the settings of the previous version...
Remember, to press HOME NOT SELECT to fix it for some of you all.
Hang on, I need to know if this works on 3.71-2 M33...
