4.05 to 4.01 M33 Visualizer |
Ó
Sony's recent release of firmware 4.05 may have left some of the owners in a bit of a pickle. On one hand, updating to it will enable to them to enjoy the new visualizer feature that's been added. On the other hand, it may take some time before the M33 Team can successfully create a custom firmware to match up to Sony's official build. If you seriously can't wait for the dev team's update, then Red Squirrel may have some good news for you with the release of the 4.05 to 4.01M33 Visualizer tool. As its name implies, this homebrew application will flash the visualizer effect from Sony's firmware 4.05 onto custom firmware 4.01 M33.
Other details on installing this app to your PSP are available in the file bundle's readme. The developer advices the readers to be careful with using the application and have a copy of Despertar del Cementerio handy before attempting to use this tool.

"No other files are needed, just copy it in /PSP/GAME/ and run it like a normal homebrew."
Which basically means that it includes the 4.05 visualizers, making it illegal.
I'm not complaining or anything, but for anyone wanting to do it manually or the 'legal' way:

I tried it first with psardumper when it appeared. Copied files. Entered music folder. PSP froze.
Tried it with this one. Entered music folder. PSP froze.
luckily I backuped my files first. atleast this tool does it automatically, so if it doesn't work, don't panic! restart the utility and press circle.
;)
I read your comment and decided to try it on my Slim as well. PSP freezes when trying to open Music.
Massive PHAIL Red_Squirrel...
basically, it ain't really worth screwing around with. it's just one visualizer, nothing serious / I think this would've been really fun trough. BTW if someone has this working, please let me know!
Like I already wrote, here's a guide to do it manually:
http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?p+2077151
also tried manually as I told in the first post. didn't work. thank god for the backup I made.
this was like a week ago or so ;)
it works for me im using this Visualizer from long time......since RSPsarDumper is out for 4.05
what kind of psp u have? I mean.. slim/fat and what model is it? Mine is PSP2004
Yeah same i tried it using this program and manually but both ways it still freezes when you go into music its not a very good Visualizer but its VERY anoying that it wont work!
Not only does the DATA.PSP of this EBOOT contain illegal files... it doesn't contain ENOUGH illegal files!
It only contains two .PRX files and one .RCO file. You need *ALL* of the music-related .PRX and .RCO files from 4.05, for a total of FOUR PRXes and TWO RCOs.
Massive, massive fail...
I only copied a total of 3 files onto my fat psp and it works fine no freezing.
