3.30 FW support for prxdecrypter 1.3 |

Group of homebrew developers Team C+D released the PlayStation Portable (PSP) FW 3.30 decrypter just before April, and it wasn't an April Fools' joke. However, that development is still unable to support homebrew or downgrades as of yet. But still, it was a momentous step.Anyway, when it comes to decrypting things, it seems that Team C+D are not the only ones capable of handling the job. Jas0nuk, for one, has been providing the homebrew community with the same goodies. And today, he did update his own prxdecrypter to accommodate 3.30 FW support.
"If anyone wants it, here is an updated PRX decrypter which supports 3.30 PRXes, whether they are signchecked or not, GZIPed, and even RLZed. Should be useful for OE modders when 3.30 OE is eventually released," posted the developer himself. So that's an open invitation for every one to try and check this program provided that you know what you're doing, of course.
Unfortunately, even the coder himself is yet to try this application. He mentioned that all he did was add all five sets of 3.30 decryption keys and re-compile the program. Lastly, Jas0nuk also noted that a confirmation that prxdecrypter 1.3 works will be highly appreciated.
Again, we repeat that the coder himself is yet to try this application, so there is a risk involved if you ever decide to try out this decrypter on your PSP.

i never understood what a decrypter does. how is that idfferent from DA's custom FW?
it decrypts the plugins so they can be modified/used in oe firmwares. they aren't oe-firmwares.
if you dont know what it does... why ask a dumb question like "how is it different to DA's FW" thats like asking how a car is different to a house. ffs. google the term before making an ass outta yourself.

Okay Make a folder on your memory stick called "enc" and place your encrypted PRXs there. Then run the app and press X to decrypt them. ALRIGHT? i did that but I dont see anything in psp that is executable!! p.s You can call me Noob, or w/e the hell you want, I really dont give *****...quiet frankly I didn't spend enough time on this, so i really don't know much...

first rofl second no it will not downgrade your 3.30 psp its a decrypter not donwgrader it decrypts the 3.30 firmware off a 1.5 or custom firmware not on the actual 3.30 firmware

Can someone please be kind enough to make a quick noob guide on HOW to install the PRXdecrypter 1.3... cause in the readme that came with it, i don't understand much, I tried and it doesnt seem to work... thank you

1) prx is a binary module, which can be loaded/unloaded at will by the firmware itself or by a third party program (umd game or homebrew). Windows DLL alike if i may. 2) See above 3) firmware files are signed, meaning they are encrypted with the private key of a PKA algorithm (wikipedia PKA for further information). They can be decrypted using the paired one of the psp public keys which list is hidden somewhere in the firmware itself (IPL/ boot stage maybe, I don't know). 4) yeah, as Jordan says, for hackers, more generally for programmers who want to try using firmware prx functions (that's the way for instance some people managed to find out who to use the GPS device...) 5) 6) Jordan already said the whole thing :)

LOL. if you're new to the psp scene, you would most likely want to STAY AWAY from something like this, as it is mainly for psp hackers to fiddle w/ in their free time.

even on my first day as a psps newbie, i'd managed to understand a sh1tload more than these guys. All it takes is a little time to read. The info is out there, and it's not hard to find. These lazy farkers just want everything s***** fed to them. the psp scene is not the only place you will see the word DECRYPTER - which is why everyone thinks it's funny when people are comparing it to custom firmware. they're not just newbies, they've all got sub 80 IQs There should be a test at birth, to determine the stupid from the bright... We should then take a leaf outta hitler's book and gas the farking idiots to save having to read their BS online. controversial i know, but it'd make the world a happier place ultimately.

if by new firmware you mean 3.30 then yes it decrypts the prxs in the firmware to allow hackers to analyze it and create their own contribution to the psp scene. unlike the guy above me who writes runon sentences and makes himself look like and as$ trying to be sarcastic. I have just read all of the posts and they are absolutly useless! people who are new work out the correct section to ask and there are loads of tutorils to look at, dont spam this area asking for help. all i wanted to know was if the decrypter worked, and after 5mins of my time reading useless junk, all i worked out was that Jas0nuk says that there is no risk. So dont spam this area as people like me want other users oppinon on the DECRYPTER not WEATHER SOMEONE WHO CALLS HIM SELF Dark_AleX IS REAL OR NOT!

But at first, you need to prepare your PSP - hit it with a hammer or crowbar. Then, open it, take the NAND memory, unpack the 1.50 FW, put it there (to write it use a pencil or a pen), and glue your PSP back to it's normal shape (very nice puzzle!). IT WORKS!
