2.71 SE-B Installers |
Ó
Guess what? ChaosZero just made some "noob-friendly" app for the latest 2.71 custom firmware. And just how noob-friendly is it? Let's just say that if your 7 year old brother knows what a USB port and a PSP is, he can probably do this himself. Of course, provided that your brother isn't a brat whose main purpose in life is to brick your PSP but that's not the point...Anyway, to install, just download the package you want to have on your PSP, hook your beloved handheld to your PCs USB port (using the USB cable, of course) and run the executable file. See? We told you it's that simple. But before you go and do that, here are some notes that you have to read first:
-
Game menu freezing error: you must have a GAME folder and a GAME150 folderÂ…
Then you can boot Recovery Mode, enter Configuration, Change "Game folder homebrew" to 1.50 kernel and exit. Only after that you can make a GAME and a GAME271 folder. - Game menu responding slow at times:Whenever you do an update to the ISO folder (add, delete, change files, first SE-B execution), a little delay will occur when entering in memory stick games. While the ISO folder is not changed, this wonÂ’t happen.
SE-B FULL Build
- Upgrade from SE-A to SE-B
- Install 2.71 SE-B with DevHook (2.71)
- Install 2.71 SE-B with DevHook (1.50) GUI Mod and 2.71 Firmware (In SE-A, this played games 2.71Â’s DevHook wouldnÂ’t)
- Just SE-B, no DevHook
- Just DevHook (2.71), no SE-B
- Install RECOVERY Folder for downgrading to 1.50.
- Upgrade from SE-A to SE-B
- Install 2.71 SE-B with DevHook (2.71)
- Install RECOVERY Folder for downgrading to 1.50.
- Straight install 2.71 SE-B with DevHook (2.71).

If anything, the FULL build has the 2.71 firmware, which PSP Updates never hosts.

I've never used it, isn't its only purpose to emulate advanced firmwares?

2. I have 1.5 right now. After I install this, will I have to reinstall everything I have (like all my homebrew), or will it still be there? Will I have to move anything around? What I'm asking is, can I just plug in my PSP and install this thing and be done with it, or will it mess with everything on my memory stick?
3. What is all this jibberish about a GAME folder and a GAME 150 folder in the description of this installer? Do I need to do anything to my GAME folder before or after I use the installer?
4. I know this writes to flash. If I install this now, will the update to 2.71 SE-C (when it comes out) require writing to flash again? I'd rather not keep messing with the flash memory, so I'm thinking of just waiting for 2.71 SE-C (I have a feeling it will be out pretty soon).
Please answer.

P.S. Don't do it. I don't suggest it at all, also because your friend's PSP is most likely not firmware 1.50 anyway. XD

2)b4 installing 2.71 se-b better backup all yr files.
3) 1st scenario - GAME(by default it's for 2.71 kernel) and manually create GAME150(put all 1.50 compatible homebrew in dis folder). 2nd scenario - GAME(in recovery mode - change dis 2.71 kernel folder to 1.50 kernel - den put all 1.50 compatible homebrew in it) and manually create GAME271(put all 2.71 compatible homebrew in dis folder). u need to choose which scenario to follow but only after installation.
4)yes 2.71 se-c will write flash again. i suppose dark_alex will again create a quick update directly from se-b to se-c. other den tat it's yr choice but read the readme.text few times until u know wat u r doing b4 upgrading from original 1.50 to 2.71 se-c.
hope dis will help.

DA has made it so easy to install it anyway, why would u need this, if ur noob enough to have to need this then u shouldn't even bother with homebrew in the first place.

I have a problem with my PSP not charging batteries and recognising power being plugged in so this would stop me from upgrading if it's needed.
Thanks

Can anyone confirm this? I have been trying to boot without a UMD (as my drive is busted) but I can't seem to get it working? I think it might be because I did a 2.71 SE-A to B easy update and not a full clean install of SE-B. OR possibly it doesn't like the ISO's, anyone wanna point me to a nice ISO to CSO tutorial?
