2.71 SE-A Customizer 0.5

Not actually a screenshot of BadBoy's version, but the basic look is there. :)

BadBoy has taken it upon himself to work on finding ways to improve on the 2.71 SE-A customizer, which was originally eiffel56's creation. According to him, eiffel56's PSP got bricked (no apparent reason), so eiffel56 has lost some of his interest in developing this homebrew. Still, it's the brainchild of more than one developer, so there's no reason to throw BadBoy's efforts along the wayside.

So what do you get in version 0.5 of the 2.71 SE-A Customizer? Besides the usual font, background and gameboot changes, it also carries the standard effects the customizer has, such as the ability to flash a custom menu, toggle network updates, dump or flash your registry, and dump your Flash0 and Flash1 files. We will admit that BadBoy's a funny guy though, as his changelog also mentions him as one of the changes:
  • Check for atlest 50% Battery
  • Dump/Flash registry
  • Dump complete Flash0 & Flash1
  • Choose which background to flash
  • Fully changed Source Code
  • Some Mistakes corrected
  • Eboot Icon added
  • New programmer (LOL!)
Once again, we remind you folks to read the instructions carefully and use this program at your own risk. A dead PSP might be apt for the Halloween season, but no one likes to hang out with the dead 24/7. Make sure you also have more than 50% battery life on your handheld or the program shuts down and may also mess with your PSP. Happy Halloween, and make sure this is a treat, not a trick for your gaming nights.

Thanks to mikeall for the tip!

I dont want to sound like a d*ck but theres a 2.71 downgrader and devhook can emulate 2.71. so i dont know why coders are making stuff for it. They should be concentrating on making stuff for 1.5, and trying to hack 2.8+

sooorry.

wat do they meen by this

» Nicely said bert

but to sum it up its a pritty much a custom firmware that has 2.71 browser and background features with 1.5 homebrew capability, not to mention iso loading from the game menu- no umd required! I personally leave gta in there tho cause its a relatively large game

» Werd.

Imagine, if you will, a smore. It has the wonderful chocolateness of chocolate (1.50) and the gooey greatness of marshmellow (2.71). Smudged together and held in place by two scrumptious graham crackers (the lack of a need to start up your PSP, start up DevHook and go).

I'm off to start a campfire.

» 1.5

dont be dissing on 1.50 firmware users calling them nubs or what ever some think 1.50 is more stable then 2.71 SE. 1.50 is a final build there will be no 1.50 A or 1.5 B. I mean if you like a crummy web brower with a lame background feature that takes away the wavy lines that go up and down then be my guest go to 2.71 SE and hey I understand if most of you are in to the newer PSP games or PSP games in general then 2.71 is the one for you. I my self dont like the psp games due to load time and lack of... fun maybe :-x? so ill stay with my very stable 1.50 with my homebrew and custom menu's that I did with xflash and enjoying the plain black back ground to my psp with the wavylines inculded. to each his own not diss'n any ones firmware but sick of people calling 1.50 users noobs.

» 2.71 SE-B

I very much enjoy new psp games, and am looking forward to upcoming titles as a matter of fact. But I also enjoy homebrew, and embrace new ideas from developers who are being denied any form of payment for their work. Dark AleX has done an incredible job in mixing 1.50 and 2.71 to create something that is in my opinion more efficient than 1.50 my friend.

2.71 SE-B has never let me down even once man. I love my recovery mode, and i happen to flash bmp backgrounds to allow the wavy lines to flow.

damn.

by JOshISPoser - 2006-10-30 18:42
» nicely said mike

that's a great analogy. but, wat about Rees's. everybody loves chocolate (1.5) and some only like peanut butter (2.71) because it can make ok sandwhiches but isn't sweet. So together, it's amazing with just enought peanut butter and plenty of chocolate. When you make too much peanut butter on the outside, it doesn't succeed too much. thanks for the great idea mike.

i think he is saying he was the first person to send the files to QJ and he made the original forum thread.

» It does work with SE-B and SE-B'

To make things clear, this one does work with SE-B and SE-B'.

In the original thread in http://portable-news.de/ the new versionen doesn't anything about SE-A in the name, this is an error or missunderstndin g of QJ.NET here.

We're not dissing people with 1.5,

we're just saying that it's unnecessary to have 1.5 now when 2.71 SE-B can do what all other firmwares can do, no need for devhook anymore.

And no, 1.5 isn't the final build, the latest build is currently 2.82.

» yo sup

I change my mind its for 2.71 SE-B now cus it will brick any othr firmware okay so 2.71 SE-A DONT RUN THIS or you willl brick. and its ur fault if u brick we take no responsibility.

» white gameboot?

hi,

i changed gameboot and font and it worked perfectly. But the second time that i changed the gameboot (didnt like first one...) all i got was the original gameboot without any colours, like the background is white. no matter howmany times i try, and with different gameboots, it remains the same. anyone got a solution for this?
