1.50 to 1.00 Easy Downgrader Released! |

Xtrusion from our forums has released another Easy Downgrader for those who want to downgrade a 1.5 PSP to version 1.0, the PSPs original System firmware. Just like Easy Downgrader for 2.5/2.6, this Easy Downgrader uses Dark_Alex Yoshihiro and Mathieulh's original downdater, this time for 1.5 --> 1.0 and adds a nice GUI, sound instructions and complete installation (apart from the dumped firmware files) needed to downgrade your PSP from firmware 1.5 to 1.0.
A voice will explain to you how to do things along with text, and the automatic installer will install all the files required to downgrade for even the biggest PSP homebrew newbies. You will need someone with an original 1.0 PSP in order to get this to work.
Instructions
- Find someone with a 1.0 PSP and get them to install the downhelper program from the downdater download.
- Copy the downhelper100 folder to /PSP/GAME/ and start the program.
- It will dump your flash and your ipl to the memory stick. After finished, the program will exit.
- Send the folder created at the root of your memory stick called "DOWNDATER" to someone with 1.50 to allow them to downgrade using the Easy downgrader app.

Nothing wrong with 1.50, and I think some homebrews have issues on 1.0
no reason to leave 1.0 because no devhook (could be wrong) and no iso loader
most homebrew is built for 1.5 so what is the point if it is less compatible?
the only good thing would be a custom firmware

yeah 1.50 is better right now but give it at least a month, theyll port things like devhook and stuff like that over to 1.00 and since that boots eboots faster, can run anything without hacks or exploits, and itll boot anything its told to boot, itll b the best firmware

im still waiting for some1 to give us a way to have epsilon without the modchip
the point of it is so developers can have the oppurtunity to work on 1.00 firmware which has NO SECURITY to bypass. This means they can freely explore 1.00's workings, nooks, and krannies to their hearts content. This also opens up the possibilty of custom firmware for the psp without the need of the undiluated platimum hardware mod. Us regular joes that appreciate homebrew but either have no programming skills and/or time, should stick with 1.5 for the sake that is the most supported firmware for homebrew at this time.
even though 1.5 is the best firmware right now because 1.0 can run eboots without any hacks really it can quickly become the best firmware especially with dev hook on it
Does anyone know where I can find the DownDater files to downgrade my 1.50 to a 1.00?
I have 2 PSPs with 1.50 FW and want to downgrade one to a 1.00, since 1.00 has some advantages (not many)
2.01-2.6-1.5-2.0-1.5-1.0 and now back to pure 1.5:)
hey some of you will know about the EPSILON BIOS which lets you play full homebrew and ISO loaders on firmware 2.71
now that we have ver 1.00 could it be posible to use this bios on our psps by just flashing it?

A custom firmware on a 1.00 psp sounds very nice indeed. Its the only firmware which can truly run unsigned code, not of great use at the moment because it hasnt been taken apart properly yet, but that'll change :)
this maybe a stupid question, but can 1.5 homebrews work on 1.0?

And what _exactly_ are these "advantages" ?
There's nothing you can do on 1.00 that you can't do on 1.50, unless you're a dev and want to play with the exploit to allow running unsigned eboot's...

This is really stupid becuase it is really hard to find someone who has a 1.0 psp so how can most people do it if you cant find one psp with 1.0 files on it!

I don't get why you would want to go to 1.0. 1.5 IS better. Loads of homebrew apps and games don't work with 1.0 including Devhook. It sucks so don't do it. You will regret it and you will eventually upgrade again.

I want 1.00 Firmware since I have two 1.50 Firmware PSPs and a 2.60 Firmware... So, Devhook...UMD Emuhater and Cash loader don't mean anything to me on a 1.00 PSP.
So, if anyone can help me find the 1.00 Downhelper files... Please help me...

I see this as nice work...Then agian there is no reason to downgrade to 1.0 like alot of you said more Homebrew works on 1.5 and sooner or later they might port somethings over to 1.0...but I see it as a platfrom for Dev's to do more with less hassel and HOPEFULLY their would be a Custom Firmware somewhere down the line..

Its been said over and over again, that the point is so developers can produce a custom firmware. If you cannot invision what the posabilitys to homebrew would be with that in place, then just shut up and wait and see.............

I can play any game on my 1.5 psp, I can play any snes/nes game I want. Eventually I'll be able to play ps1/n64. Again, what's the point of having a 1.00FW psp?

lol having formatted my computer not long after i downgraded from 2.0, i lost all 1.0/2.0 eboots, never bothered to try and find them again since i have 1.5 now, so yeah... its going to take me a while do dig all my fav app's 1.0/2.0 verisons.... but haha sony is sure pissed about us upgrading and downgrading AT OUR OWN WILL now... not going to be long before 2.7 is completely cracked lol! its already decrypted... omg the psp homebrew scene gets better and better dont it?

1.0 homebrew are true homebrews, the 1.5 version is the modded 2 file so it works on 1.5, 1.5 homebrew have 2 eboots, which is the split version of the 1.0, i think it still works on 1.0 theoratically, but its just unneseccary to split the eboots..
hope that helps and nice work with da downgrader, but with this youll have the x and o flipped rite? how are we going to get it back? do we have to wait for pspset to work on 1.0 so we can flip it back to the us version? just a thought

its much better to downgrade now then rush to downgrade when customs firmware is released and end up bricking your psp cause you rushed the downgrade to get it

Download this from PSP-Hacks instead, it contains the 1.0 firmware files so you dont have to find them elsewhere

1. 1.0(like 2.0) only needs 1 eboot file to run homebrew, not 2, so u dont have 'corrupted data' icons
2. 1.0 was only on Japanese PSPs, so there were a few bug not yet worked out that were fixed in 1.5
3. 1.0 had virtually no security so it is easily hacked and modded firmware is easily made
im perfectly content with my 1.5 psp. until they come out with a modded FW that has all the features of 2.7 or sumthin like that, im not downgrading. theres my 2 cents, go buy a lollipop
Can't they replace the current OSS of psp with something else? Something better, with browser, with file assistant and everything in it? WOuld be a lot better..

omg, u can already access kernal mode and everything, its almost useless with a 1.0 compared to a 1.5, cuz we got homebrew and all that fully working with a 1.5 (with the Kxploit),but please, worry about the people stuck with 2.70, or 2.71. pleeeze, i want portable vnc, pspradio, n64 emu, and all that, im beggging, u, lol
it worked on mine if you need any help my aim is ( bannedrail ) and im me if you need any help on this iv got two psp's .... one with 1.5 and one with 1.0 and the advantage of having a 1.0 is that you can run bochs but with 1.5 bochs are incabatable. if you dont know what bochs are used for then they are used for booting up operating systems such as windows and linux. iv got both right now on my 2giga byte memory stick its niceeeeeeeeee. woot ty man. i just down graded my 2 2.6s to a 1.5 and a 1.0 pwnage baby!!! woot

What a load of tossers... especially the guy who says "if any1 wants to try my 2.70 downgrader please reply" you carnt run homebrew code on 2.70 and 2.71 so how the heck do you recon you can run a downgrader......
The Installation file at www.psp.xtrusion.es Works succesfuly and I know have a 1.0 PSP.
I have upgraded and downgraded my psp several times with several different firmwares, and this has still worked without incident.
Be aware however, that split 1.5 eboots DO NOT, work with this firmware (1.0), as I have just tested DGEN.
Perhaps a developer could relase a 1.5 recompiler to combine the 1.5 eboots back into one file.
As well, The comments on this Firmware being slow, are SEMI true. The memory stick access is about .5 of a second slow.
This doesn't effect USB transfer speed, it's merely cosmetic.
For all you people who are worried that your psp didn't come stock with 1.0 DON'T worry, it's not an issue.
