0okm took at a look at the recently released Blitz: The League Overtime from Midway Games. Here's the report: "tried on DEVHOOK 0.51.0100 FW3.02, FW2.82 But NOT Work :P"As for those of us here at QJ, we haven't verified this yet because I still haven't gotten my hands on the game (it's an interesting game, though - even without an NFL licenese the game still goes into the "hardcore" behind-the-scenes mess that is pro football - no surprise that it's rated Mature for Use of Drugs, Strong language, Realistic Blood, Suggestive Themes, and Realistic Violence).
Why doesn't this game work with DevHook? How can this be fixed? We leave those questions for the experts. 0okm throws this out to chew over:

goddamit, im 2nd!
tried 3.0 prx tried changing remote address i just get to the first screen and the game stops loading wtf?
Whenever i try running the iso of Burnout Legends in DevHook 0.51001 my psp will crash. However, the same iso works perfectly when i'm using DevHook 0.46. This also happens if I use the original UMD instead of the iso. Any ideas?
I use devhook to play the new D-Day Brothers in arms, when enterning a new game it says do not remove umd from slot, (use iso that is)and it when to XMB saying game cant be started, erily it loads on 2.71seC, with a gith after the first minute that crashes psp, then i ran pasted the part and game seemed to run smoothly, one more thing on this game there is a file called UPDATE_FROM_SONY.BAT or to that liking anyone interested check it out, i believe this problem occurs due to new precaution on iso usage, and/or devhook, neone tried blitz on umd or iso yet?
Maybe it has something to do with where the IPL and data files are. When you dump 2.82 onward they're in the dump folder and not out in the directory...

Supposedly Blitz works with 0.46 hybrid devhook... so why the long post?
The ISO works with DevHook v0.46 with the Hybrid firmware or the new DevHook v0.51...
Works on DevHook 0.45 with 2.71 FW for me
Bliz Overtime doesen't either work with DH..
Works fine booting from the game menu on 2.71 SE-C, speed seems to be ok. no need for devhook.
in d-day when loading a level the psp essentailly reboots all prxs i played it off PC USBhostfs and psp disconnected then reconnected maybe thats what bitz does closes all prx's and modules then reopens them "like n Windows when you close explorer.exe then re open it to aviod the pc crashing" so all modules are loaded as normal and the ISO is not redirected from disc0:/ to fatms:/ as with devhook so blitz closes the (modules that devhook redirects) and reloads them like this devhook redirects disc0:/ to ms0:/ISO/.iso when blitz is started it loads game from ms0:/ISO/.iso closes prx's (possibly isofs or umd) then looks for the umd in disc0:/ or same principle with flash0:/ redirection to ms0:/DH/302/f0 or ms0:/DH/282/f0 well thats what i think has happened sony & game makers got clever thats what happens when you release source code they can hack it to find loophole not that sony would bother doing that
cant we/ sombody anybody change the param.sfo in the iso so 2.82 firmware = 2.02 or something it worked for me for socom 2 and gta VCS i know they already worked n devhook but would this work with this game??
I noticed Bothers in arms works in devhook v.46 but not in DH v.51 i wonder why.
use devhybrid for those games....
BlitzOT, BiA and other 2.82 games did not works/partially crash on DH0.51 but work well on DH hybrid
Anybody tried running the MGS Portable Ops UMD with Devhook?
Smackdown 2007 did not load on DH hybrid but worked in game mode only on DH0.51
got a wide collection of iso's... dh .46 loads and runs them all perfectly so far... still working my way through them all ;P
FYI, Cabelas African Safari is another 2.82 (or maybe 2.81) game that doesnt work either, with no devhook up to date, and thats been known for quite a while, so Blitz aint the first one...
maybe if you have the GTA Vice City Storeys cheat device it stops some ISOs from working :P not sure why

claudius i bought MGS:PO and yes, it works under devhook, cant say the iso does, but theres your answer.
Game loads and runs fine on SE-C, it is laggy as hell and has a few glitches during game play. but it does work.

It DOES work with the latest DevHook and with the older DevHook w/ Hybrid firmware... i've tested both loaders with an ISO of this game and can confirm as such. It should be noted that I have an original 1.50 PSP that has never been up/downgraded.
they need to perfect devhook .46 was good but others have bugs and photo web bowser etc dont work

I read that the isos work but not the actual UMDs. As WTY4KA stated, I guess it seems it closes up all the moduels and then reloads them from the flash possibly. Or it could possibly be that they put something in the games to check to see if the firmware was running from the Memory Stick. Either way, it will probably be hard for develoupers to get around this.
I don't think he is saying that football sucks (because it doesn't). HE is probably saying that this particular game sucks. And if you compare this to the BIG titles(Mario, Devil May Cry, Halo, etc. i did all three platforms to avoid flames) this game is pretty small, in popularity anyways. but this dude is also retarded ("i have aids" ?........WTF)
yeah, works here too.. i didnt do anything... just cso the iso image and put it in iso folder, start up dh.51 with 3.01fw and play.. thats it :)

As far as I know (and I haven't really looked at game prx's) games don't have kernel access (they are loaded in user mode) to do the kinds of checks required to see if redirection has happened. Basically it comes down to this: DH 050 (both of them) are BETA VERSIONS! Annc: New devhook is being worked on Usrs: "FAKEFAKEFAKEFAKEFAKEFAKE" (continue this line for days) Annc: New devhook is released, but its beta and still has bugs Usrs: general moaning sounds "XX.iso doesn't work, wonder why, must be some new high tech gizmo that $ony put in there wrather than the public beta bugs that is causing this catastrophe..."

I also have noticed that Sony's PS1 emulator games don't work using devhook. When I loaded them, I got the blue screen of death.
My DevHook 0.51001 crashes about 2/3 times when I try to load ISOs. Also, when I press Home and exit, it will most of the time crash. I'm glad they released the newest version of DevHook, but it doesn't even support all of the capabilities of the older versions. In the older versions, you could run DevHook from a boot by using harleyg's custom firmware. Now, you can't do it anymore. And it still crashes a few times. Other than that though, I'm sure there will be improvements. Keep up the good work Booster!
I played a whole game of BO in iso & cso format w/o any trouble what so ever. The game is great!

UMD may not work, but the ISO loaded fine with my devhook. Used Dev. .51 with 3.01 firmware and it worked ok with me.

Sony's still throwing something out there. Glad 2 hear it still works on special edition 2.71 maybe an emulated se_AB?C might work i got the dump for se_B buut i dont have a big enough open memory stick for an iso or the money for a game >}'-'-"-"-"-"-"-"-{< so somebody else can try it off and MAybe u (DEvs or anybody smarter than me)can swap prx'z er sumthin and make all the rest of the devhook firmwares work or just stay at a low firmware and use the swap trick till our screen explodes. and enjoy user_made games *mario kart 64* and am really hoping sometime soon memory for auto save games like mario/mario kart zelda and other games . i am fine with the speed cause i got a speed mario rom. and i hope sound gets put on befor i die (not complaining really am hoping) and just for future refrence i am gonna take up coding whenever i get a break (hopefully that happens befor i die 2) kinda funny cause THe daedalus coder (cant remember how 2 spell it) is stuck in school 2 wooooow i rambled sorrrry ;>

I'm reading that a couple of you had problems loading Burnout Legends on devhook. Well, I just tried it right now with devhook0.51.100 and it worked on me. Actually, it didn't work the first time because I just got out of another game so that couldv'e been the problem, but once I got it running, I was playing a couple tracks and had no problems with it afterwards.

ok guys download a 3.00 eboot and use pbp unpacker to get the data.psar file and put it in the root of your ms...then use psardumper and press the X button...now save the file /f0/kd/sysmem.prx somewhere and delete the others and replace it with the one on ur dh/3.02/f0/kd/sysmem.prx....

I upgraded to devhook .50 and was too lazy to go onto the next installment that cam out like hours later, and I haven't had any trouble with GTA:VCS, Portable Ops, or Socom 2... leads me to think that i can probably use the other games too. Try it guys, .50 doesn't seem as buggy as .51

Okay let me get this straight... Newer 3.X game UMD's wont' work with devhook, while ISO's will? So basically I have 2 options: A. Upgrade my psp to play new games, losing all my awesome homebrew in the process (the only reason i bought a psp to begin with)... or B. Hack my psp, and download the games for free. GG Sony

Try games mode. Do not choose any other such as Exhibition mode or it will freeze at entrance
