If your PlayStation Portable is still stuck on official firmware 6.38 and you want to be able to enjoy homebrew, coder Total_Noob has a bit of good news for you. The developer behind the TN HEN releases has reportedly found a new kernel exploit on the official PSP firmware.

Total_Noob has released the following video as proof:

Sadly enough, that video may be the only release we'll see from the conder regarding this new kernel exploit. As he explains in the video's descirption, the new exploit might not see an official release:

When I got a new PSPgo (other one was bricked, 'cause this **** Perma-Patch), I decided to spend some time to find a new Kernel Exploit. This is the result after one week. It is not going to be released, 'cause there's no ISO-Loader integrated, so you guys are probably not content with it.

Although Total_Noob might not release anything that makes use of the new exploit, its existence will hopefully lead other developers into coding a something useful with it.

Hopefully others find it and release more homebrew for the PSP.

This guy (total_noob) is much to far from his codename. His brain cells like other Developers on the Scene that has really contributed to the growth of the scene is way ahead of its time. Pure Talent and Brain power.

Is this the same exploit Freddy found, perhaps? Even if he doesn't release the exploit, I hope he decides to share the vulnrability someday.

Total_Noob has been a legend in the PSP community for as long as I can remember. I'm happy for this release big time since I am about to purchase another PSP.

I hope it does see the light of day but if not at least I know that he tried.

Great job Total_Noob

I think I speak for the entire community when I say we are absolutely content with this being released without any iso loader.

Pirates and anybody who owns a PSP Go, like me, who need a way to transfer over their existing games. ;)

Oh Sony, you gone done goofed by supporting the PSP Go so poorly after launch; circumventing your security would probably be justified in the eyes of the law now.

TN is far from a bitch, and he's given us everything we need so far, 6.20 TN-E is an amazing piece of work and I enjoy it immensity, even if I wish he'd done 6.35 that's fine, I have ways around that, it's called prometheus. He doesn't include ISO loaders, but we know SOMEONE will. Now do the right thing, say "Thank you TN, for freeing my PSP of OFW post 6.00 kernel"

And if you're reading TN *points to above comment*

i load some pirated psp games on to my psp but if i didn't i would have never bought gems like ff7 crisis core, tekken & persona 3.

you have to admit there is alot of crap you have to wade through to really find the rare gems on the psp & sadly pirating these games is the only way most people can do it without breaking their bank. i think it would help if sony put alot of these gems on psn to buy, it took me 9 eb games stores & 5 jb hifis to find a copy of ff7 crisis core.
