Undiluted PlatinumThe very first batch of Undiluted Platinum PSP Mod Chips have arrived at ModChipStore.com and are being shipped on a first come first serve basis. The current stock is already completely sold out to pre-orders, and they won't have any more available until their second shipment comes in, most likely at the end of this week, so it won't be long! For the lucky readers out there who pre-ordered their chips early, then you will have a tracking number by 8PM EST.

If you aren't sure if your PSP is compatible with the Undiluted Platinum chip, be sure to check out our easy-to-follow guide. Depending on whether or not your PSP is compatible, there are several purchasing options you should consider.
Make sure you get on these offers fast because there's a good chance that the second shipment will be sold out before you know it! If you've already ordered and are on the list, you'll probably want to check out the installation diagrams as well! We'd like to give a special thanks to CBMaster for the heads up as well!

Now all we need is more details about the Epsilon Custom BIOS and we're good to go!

Yeah guys I cant wait for my modchip.

Oh and later Im releasing a video of me about many aspects of the PSP, including checking TA-082, seeing if Sony has the chance of blocking U.P in other updates, and other information as well concerning this.

The hoster of the video file will be Deltaanime.

This modchip will not ruin anything aboutthe psp. Every system that has had a modchip has done exceedingly well. PS1 number one selling system number one moded system. Same goes for PS2. BTW shipping started at $10.00, $17.00, and $35.00

» Too Pricey

Once again, the cost will end up being more than the cost of 2 psps, u could have 3 psps (one 1.50, one 2.0, and one up to date) or u can risk the chance of breaking ur psp by trying to install it yourself. But hey, if ur good at soldering then go for it, cause that will save u enough money that maybe its worth it. But for others, trying to buy one thats already installed, may i ask why?

I really dont see the problem with this install. All the points seem easy enough to solder to. The only ones that look like they may be a challenge are the traces, but once they've had the board coating cleaned off with a glass fibre pen and tinned up they should be fine. As I said above I'd really like to see some hi res pics of the board with the traces wired up, thanks.

» Has anyone got a 13" Radial tyre i can have...

Please will people post pictures or videos of the modchip actually working.

by Justin EL - 2006-06-26 08:24
» Finnaly

OK people, received my package, may i say it looks mighty fine, opened the box, took everything out and WOW, the modchip is tiny, i got really nervous at this point, i opened up my psp, put the chip in and closed the back to check if the chip fits inside, and so i am glad to say it fits like a glove. I used a magnifying glass as you all should to solder each point. It took roughly 1 hour for me to install the chip, plus 20 mins to put the machine back together (i had to get all the dust out the screen and make it perfect). It was time to turn it on, so i turned it on and OMG its not recognising the chip, i tried everything and it didnt work. But wait, after spending the next 30 mins opening the psp and going over the diagram checking all points, i remembered, my psp was already on 1.5 and the chip was also flashed with 1.5. So i rushed to my nearest EB and got locoroco (i know i could have got it from the net, but i wanted to play the game), came home, installed 2.7 on my psp firmware (holding R on boot) and i can finally conclude that this chip does work as advertised and is amazing. Its a long process to get it installed and i still cant get all the dust out my psp screen (any suggestions). Sadly i didnt record the installation process as i planned because i intended to do it after work but i was so excited that i had to install it there and then (and i phoned in sick to work). I will make a video of it running asap, but i have no way of distributing it, i might try youtube and post the link, but if somebody does it before, its all good.

Overall impressions are good, its good to finally know its not a FAKE and it does work as they said it would, now all i need is the epsilon bios, which i am hopng is not a fake. It will also be good if someone makes a new type of interface for the firmware now that bricking is not an issue, something like xmc (xbox media center) only for psp ofcourse or a firware version of ir shell would be sweet too.

So guys, i can't say i had many problems with the installation, its not as hard as it looks, i cant justify the price people are charging for installation alone, infact i thought the 1st gen ps2 chips where harder to install.

So my advice is if you have decent soldering skills, dont be scared to give it a try, trust me you wont mess it up because you WILL make sure you do it properly, the fact that theres no rush means you can take all the time in the world.

Any questions will be welcomed and i will give a better review after iv spent a little more time with it.

You can buy what is basically air in a presurised canister, that might help blow the dust out, without the risk of getting saliva over the cicuitry

by Justin EL - 2006-06-26 08:40
» to slowmotiony

i forgot to add, the chip comes with no software or installation manuals, you have to get the flasher software from the link provided as well as the install diagrams, the chip comes with a seperate USB mini b port which has to be soldered onto the main nand chip and the software is pretty straighforward in terms of its use. To boot the main firmware, you hold the R shoulder button on boot up, if you do not hold it, it boots directly to the chips NAND.

» PSP Hacking 101 should have 1.5 NAND dumps

Guys, my good friends Pox and Ragable of PSP Hacking 101 are getting that modchip overnight ship. They are going to install the modchip and test it out. I do know that they WILL dump their 1.5 firmware of their PSP to the public, so we can taste this beautiful firmware one more time (for some) | for newcomers....

Anyone remeaber the Youtube video we saw a few days ago? Can anyone with the modchip tell us if there is a logo in the top left part of the screen while at the "Do you want to exit?" screen? That should tell us if that video was real or not. *There where alot of doubters*

No, because that was the custom Epsilon bios that hasn't been released yet. At the moment we are only using stock-standard Sony firmwares.

Hopefully Epsilon will release their firmware soon.

And for the rest of you, thank you. To be exact, I am 13 years old since June 22, and yes the Undiluted Platinum is correctly guessed as my birthday present :)

I made this informative and as firm as possible. Anyways if you want to investigate the theories I have proposed, such as Sony needing more than 32MB of NAND to find and block the U.P, and other stuff, feel free to post comments on YouTube. I just hope 0okm reads this so he can get at least an idea of how NAND flash is not fully controllable ;)

And I also believe QJ publishers should make a article of my vid ;)

I remember when I signed up to be a QJ publisher ;). Now for all this, I believe you folks at QJ can accept me as your new publisher :)

Happy late Birthday! Did you solder that yourself? Also, is the video up on youtube? I can't find it. Again, Happy B-day!

by CBMaster - 2006-06-26 16:51
» #128 and #129

#128 = Yes, the modchip will work on a PSP that has the PSP2TV pheripheral installed. However in order to install the modchip, you need to remove the PSP2TV pheripheral, install the modchip (make sure you have good soldering skills), and put the PSP2TV back together.

#129 = Thanks! Also today afternoon I sent the PSP to ModChipStore Install Service so they can install it when their second batch arrives, and then it would be brought back to me Overnight shipping :)

as this is not a problem anymore...

you guys have to make da decision... wait for the downgrader which is now possible? or buy the chip?

by CBMaster - 2006-06-27 14:32
» hippie... got to hell

If you havent seen my video, Sony needs to have the balls to remake the PCB, or go threaten us to open the PSP and install a larger NAND to detect modchips, or something, but a goddamn limited access firmware which only has kernel access to games and the settings are read-only type information will NOT be able to block a modchip.

GUYS, THE UNDILUTED PLATINUM IS JUST A NAND.. NOTHING ELSE.. IT DOESNT HAVE AN OS... NOTHING! THE U.P DOESNT REMOVE THE REGION CODING RIGHT ON MOVIES? IT IS JUST A SOLDERING OF ANOTHER NAND CHIP TO STORE ANOTHER FIRMWARE ON

STOP DEALING ON SONY TRYING TO SAY THEY ARE GONNA BLOCK U.P CUZ THEY ARE NOT, AND MY VID PROVES IT (I HOPE)
