Team FWi presents 3.01 SE - 2.71 SE-C and 3.01 hybrid

It's been a while since we've seen teasers of Team FWi's 3.01SE, which is basically a 2.71 SE-C with 3.01 bits thrown in for the extra VSH functions. And while this might not seem much after looking at the latest Devhook, you have to remember that this has been in the works since quite a long time. Plus, when you run this, it flashes the 3.01 bits to your PSP so that the result is a seamless mix of 2.71 SE-C and 3.01.

Here's the list of features in this version:

1.00/1.50 eboots
2.xx/2.71 eboots (Remember theres no such thing as 3.xx eboots YET!)
ISO/CSO loading from XMB (no-umd as well)
MP3 Visualizer
Video Player
Photo Viewer
System Settings (Power Save menu cannot be accessed, also causes first time run problems.)
UMD Auto-Start Setting
USB Connection (Mass Storage)
WiFi (Ingame, as there is nowhere else to use it.)
Anything that has yet to be mentioned.

Since this is more of a hack job, a few things are non-working for now. We hope they can fix it in their upcoming releases. Here's a list of not-working things:

You have to make sure that you install it on a freshly installed 2.71 SE-C. This is the only install method.

I think they removed the webbrowser because of issues and they just didnt want to admit as many had problems with the webbrowser in 2.82 but maybe im wrong they've done a good job to get this working and shame it isnt fully working id install but would rather not risk bricking my second psp ;[ and doesnt seem worth it without the browser and so on ;[ big steps tho in the psp scence thanks :)

This is interesting. The only really thing I want from this is the mp3 visualizers and I for one am not really interested in the ps1 emulator (have it full speed on my xbox, pc, and psx) This sounds nice but I will wait for one that includes a web browser. Nice Job on it though.

If yes, this has bothing to do with the Team FWi, and eve its can't use the name "SE", 'cause when (if) Dark_AleX release the REAL 3.01SE it will cause confusion.

And thin is incomplete, with a lot of thing non-working...

of course it reads isos, try enabling plain modules in the recovery menu. people can't brick their psp with this as long as they try it from a fresh se-c. why? because at worst it can only cause a semi brick. this is real, this works fine, there are no browser functions for now but we may release a second version soon. that's it...

But, imho using the name SE is nothing good.

Because of things like this that Dark_AleX leave the scene, first a lame site impersonate Dark_AleX as a forum member, then a looser create a .com site with DA name to release brickers and now, some people release a hexedited 2.71SE/3.01 hybrid as "3.01 SE".

Sorry, but if they named their work other way, that's fine, but using SE's name is so much lame.

SE is a Dark_AleX work, and the name should be used only by him.

If he leaves de scene, fine, so no more SE.

But if some other guy wats to release a new REAL cf as SE, just ask Dark_AleX aproval or simply use another name.

did you make sure to reinstall or make your 2.71 se-c fresh. I actually went down to 1.5 with recovery, then up to 2.71 se-c to make sure my flash0 was alright. now, it seems to be working, i am going to test out a semiworking cso on 2.71 se-c. THis is cool, i rarely use web browser except for the *good* stuff so i don't get viruses on my computer. I only used RSS like two times because I wanted to test it out. This is just cool.

This is definitely not the creators fault. Your first realese, you aren't completely worried about making it easier to install, you want features to be great and very little bugs. It is easy to install as long *AS YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS*. Mine installed very easily, in like 2 mins, the first try. No bricks at all, all you need to do is reinstall se-c. then, grab 3.01, dump with square i think, and then put the F0 inside folders in 3.01. The creator repeatively states you need that or you will get a for sure brick. Please, follow directions, this mod is just awesome.

I heard somewhere this doesn't work with like 2.71 and with this mod, the game works great. Just with a warning, if you dump your game, make sure it is ISO. When I tried using my backup with cso, it is glitchy. with, iso, everything works at a great speed.

Great work guys, but this isn't for me.

I like the visualiser and stuff, but UMDs or ISOs don't work, even with plain modules enabled.

To be honest, the parts of the firmware that are removed simply worsen matters, as the instability, incompatibility , bugs, and effort to install seem too great.

I'm loving the release, but for now, I'm sticking with SE-C and Devhook. If a second revision is released, we'll see how it goes. As for now, if anybody can fill me in on how to get ISO's, or even UMD's to load, I'm sticking.

if plain modules are enabled and iso's still don't load, make sure the vshmain.prx is inside the seplugins folder and it's enabled in the recovery menu. the compatability is the same as in se-c. vshmain.prx is the same as a 2.71 vshmain (99kb)

You need to dump 2.71 and psardumper, with square. then, look for vshmain.prx. copy that to seplugins on the root of your memory stick. create a vsh.txt and put something like ms0:/seplugins/vshmain.prx. After that, completely shut off your psp. Turn it on while holding R shoulder. When the recovery comes up, goto advanced then advance again. Select plain modules. Go back to the main menu blue screen Goto plugins, and enable vshmain.prx. Now you can exit. One problem is that, when you switch out iso/cso's you have to completely shut off the psp and turn it back on so it can recoginize it.

To re-install SE, put the SE-C installer along with the DATA.DXAR file into the 'PSP/GAME' folder and launch the program from recovery menu; this will re-install SE-C.

If you want to downgrade to another version, download the generic downgrader from Dark_AleX and place it in the 'PSP/GAME' folder along with the official Sony updater file (named 'UPDATE.PBP') and launch the program from recovery menu; this will downgrade your PSP to whatever firmware version the update file is.

ok, uhm, if u got all those stuff in game150, those need to go in the reg folder, named "game" thats why in the R. menu it says psp/game/recivery/eboot.pbp, ur update should be called eboot.pbp, im having problems too, cuz i couldnt get data.dxar file, i got it, but when i ran it again it said the dtata.dxar file was currupted. i dk i still need help too, but for ur part, thats how u do it.

just reinstall se-c by setting it up again and running it. unless, you have not touched anything, not even added prx's, then you can go ahead and install it. but, just reinstall it, it takes like 2 mins. then the 3.01 mod takes like another 2 mins. So, what the hey, go ahead and install it.

WTF MAN =_= i thought it worked...... then for some reason none of my emulators work....... iso's dont show up....... camura icon is there and the other things are there too from 3.01...... system info says 2.71 for some odd reason O_0 (thought it should say 2.71 SE-C) AND I CANT DOWNGRADE IT =_=................................................... someone help me.......

aight, emulators/eboots are sort of hard to use. you need to rip the sfo from like the 2.71 irshell and replace it with the eboots you want to use. scratch the first sentence, it seems hard, but it's not. iso's, u need the vshmain.prx from 2.71+ and put it under seplugins and make a vsh.txt. then goto recovery mode and and enable that and also goto advanced, advanced again and select use plain modules. then, they will show up. also, it just says 2.71. idk, why but it doesn't matter

Funny Response.... I do have to give you props for what you have done. but i have to agree with most of the Homebrew community. This is not SE material yet. but keep up the good work and hopefully we can see some more updates for this.

You have to extract the sfo file from a 2.71 eboot game like irshell 3.00. then, plug that into the eboot you want to use. use like pbp extractor or something. it's pretty easy.

Just use the recovery to reload the 1.5 firmware. i bricked my psp to... After the recovery i was back up and going again.
