Team FWi presents 3.01 SE - 2.71 SE-C and 3.01 hybrid |

It's been a while since we've seen teasers of Team FWi's 3.01SE, which is basically a 2.71 SE-C with 3.01 bits thrown in for the extra VSH functions. And while this might not seem much after looking at the latest Devhook, you have to remember that this has been in the works since quite a long time. Plus, when you run this, it flashes the 3.01 bits to your PSP so that the result is a seamless mix of 2.71 SE-C and 3.01.Here's the list of features in this version:
- 1.00/1.50 eboots
- 2.xx/2.71 eboots (Remember theres no such thing as 3.xx eboots YET!)
- ISO/CSO loading from XMB (no-umd as well)
- MP3 Visualizer
- Video Player
- Photo Viewer
- System Settings (Power Save menu cannot be accessed, also causes first time run problems.)
- UMD Auto-Start Setting
- USB Connection (Mass Storage)
- WiFi (Ingame, as there is nowhere else to use it.)
- Anything that has yet to be mentioned.
- Online Manuals
- PS1 Emulation
- PS3 Remote Play
- Location Free TV
- RSS (Support was broken.)
- Web Browser (Removed to save space.)
- Animated Gameboot (use the trick here to fix.)
You have to make sure that you install it on a freshly installed 2.71 SE-C. This is the only install method.

MP3 Visualizer is the only thing but we lose RSS, web browser, and game sharing so it usless really

I think they removed the webbrowser because of issues and they just didnt want to admit as many had problems with the webbrowser in 2.82 but maybe im wrong they've done a good job to get this working and shame it isnt fully working id install but would rather not risk bricking my second psp ;[ and doesnt seem worth it without the browser and so on ;[ big steps tho in the psp scence thanks :)
This is interesting. The only really thing I want from this is the mp3 visualizers and I for one am not really interested in the ps1 emulator (have it full speed on my xbox, pc, and psx) This sounds nice but I will wait for one that includes a web browser. Nice Job on it though.
UMD games that need FW higher then 2.71 don't work for me, so how can they call this 3.01 it's NOT is it, this is more like a step backwards from 2.71 SE-C LOL

there are a bunch of good homebrew web-browsers out there.. so i see no point in keeping the fw-browser =)
why would i want to update to this aparrent 3.01 se when you lose features plus having not been made by a coder ive heard of before i.e. dark alex i dont really trsut this upgrade why would i want to upgrade to this 3.01 se when the features of it dont work when i can just use devhook to emulate it and have it work fine i really dont see the point of this just yet

should i "upgrade" to this or not. i could care less about the browser and rss and dont use them any way. from what i hear its hell buggy and it seems like alot of work to get homebrew working.

If yes, this has bothing to do with the Team FWi, and eve its can't use the name "SE", 'cause when (if) Dark_AleX release the REAL 3.01SE it will cause confusion.
And thin is incomplete, with a lot of thing non-working...

this has nothing to do with dr downloads installer (actually his was based on JamesBDX mod) If Dark_AleX has left the scene be greatful some ones trying to keep custom firmware alive.

It cant read isos , so I´ll flash back to se-c again
of course it reads isos, try enabling plain modules in the recovery menu. people can't brick their psp with this as long as they try it from a fresh se-c. why? because at worst it can only cause a semi brick. this is real, this works fine, there are no browser functions for now but we may release a second version soon. that's it...

I cant load CSOs or ISOs from the XMB. show as corrupt data in game menu. plain modules ARE enabled aswell as no umd. what did i do wrong

ive been experimenting but with no luck. i dont see any point of this "update" you lose more then you gain. the only new thing is the visualizations.

well sence you can have this mp3 visulisers it can very well lead to animated back grounds , ill try to work it even though back grounds can be only prx's but i am sure we can work some thing out. ill try to help , i dabble a little bit on programing my aim is - ( bannedrail ) if you want some info, and if i get this animated back ground working ill give it to pspupdates first. but remember , NOTHING is unhackable.

just use 2.71 SE-C with DevHook .51 it's loads better and Socom ftb2 works online

But, imho using the name SE is nothing good.
Because of things like this that Dark_AleX leave the scene, first a lame site impersonate Dark_AleX as a forum member, then a looser create a .com site with DA name to release brickers and now, some people release a hexedited 2.71SE/3.01 hybrid as "3.01 SE".
Sorry, but if they named their work other way, that's fine, but using SE's name is so much lame.
SE is a Dark_AleX work, and the name should be used only by him.
If he leaves de scene, fine, so no more SE.
But if some other guy wats to release a new REAL cf as SE, just ask Dark_AleX aproval or simply use another name.
Use the 3.01SE name only for a mixed prx is wrong, extremelly wrong.

did you make sure to reinstall or make your 2.71 se-c fresh. I actually went down to 1.5 with recovery, then up to 2.71 se-c to make sure my flash0 was alright. now, it seems to be working, i am going to test out a semiworking cso on 2.71 se-c. THis is cool, i rarely use web browser except for the *good* stuff so i don't get viruses on my computer. I only used RSS like two times because I wanted to test it out. This is just cool.

none of my homebrew showed up and none of my iso's. maybe they forgot to mention you need your homebrew in the normal game folder. but where the isos? idk, i'll keep trying
It would be nice to have ps1 emulation on my psp to show off but I dont really want to play ps1 games with 1 joystick.

aight, i did a little searching and it turns out you need vshmain.prx to load iso/cso on XMB. Now, i did that but the cso still wont load. hmmmm, if anyone knows more, please post

i had the same idea about 2.71SE but i think thats still very usefull.why upgrade to this?when you have 2.71SE-C or 1.50(like meeeeee) the 2 golden firmwares or silver or whatever then you can easily use devhook 0.51 (3.01 yeeeeehaw).it's much easier you can use every option of every firmware it's almost 100% noob save and you can't possibly have a brick (unless your the biggesty moron in the univers)that's my idea...well ...bye

This is definitely not the creators fault. Your first realese, you aren't completely worried about making it easier to install, you want features to be great and very little bugs. It is easy to install as long *AS YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS*. Mine installed very easily, in like 2 mins, the first try. No bricks at all, all you need to do is reinstall se-c. then, grab 3.01, dump with square i think, and then put the F0 inside folders in 3.01. The creator repeatively states you need that or you will get a for sure brick. Please, follow directions, this mod is just awesome.
NOW Dark Alex is back we might see a real 3.01 SE firmware
and thanks to DAX's return T82er's can now enjoy 3.01 using devhook .51 and HEN D ;O)

while this is kinda cool and looks like it took a lot of effort it just can't compare to having FULL 3.01 emulation through devhook. why would u bother to install this instead? 2.71se-c + devhook 3.01 firmware emulation + chronic. it don't get better than that.

No doubt this is a hell of an accomplishment. But for now, its a bit buggy. I`ll wait til more revisions of this come out, and hopefully it`ll let us play ISOs that require 2.71+ fw
it seems like a lot of posers are riding dark_alex's coat tails by doing ***** like this. this is a incomplete p.o.s. and i agree that this 'FWi' hex edit crew should not use the SE name. that is a dark_alex creation and this 'hack team' is not even remotely on the same level as the king and it's a disrespect to use his SE title for this p.o.s. FWi rethink your actions and change the name to custom firmware p.o.c. cause that's what it is. it's missing a lot of features. do not disrespect d_a.

I heard somewhere this doesn't work with like 2.71 and with this mod, the game works great. Just with a warning, if you dump your game, make sure it is ISO. When I tried using my backup with cso, it is glitchy. with, iso, everything works at a great speed.

I like the visualiser and stuff, but UMDs or ISOs don't work, even with plain modules enabled.
To be honest, the parts of the firmware that are removed simply worsen matters, as the instability, incompatibility , bugs, and effort to install seem too great.
I'm loving the release, but for now, I'm sticking with SE-C and Devhook. If a second revision is released, we'll see how it goes. As for now, if anybody can fill me in on how to get ISO's, or even UMD's to load, I'm sticking.

if plain modules are enabled and iso's still don't load, make sure the vshmain.prx is inside the seplugins folder and it's enabled in the recovery menu. the compatability is the same as in se-c. vshmain.prx is the same as a 2.71 vshmain (99kb)
You need to dump 2.71 and psardumper, with square. then, look for vshmain.prx. copy that to seplugins on the root of your memory stick. create a vsh.txt and put something like ms0:/seplugins/vshmain.prx. After that, completely shut off your psp. Turn it on while holding R shoulder. When the recovery comes up, goto advanced then advance again. Select plain modules. Go back to the main menu blue screen Goto plugins, and enable vshmain.prx. Now you can exit. One problem is that, when you switch out iso/cso's you have to completely shut off the psp and turn it back on so it can recoginize it.

I'm not upgrading yet, D_A will release 3.01 SE just wait for it and be happy with 2.71 SE and 3.01 emulation via devhook for now

To re-install SE, put the SE-C installer along with the DATA.DXAR file into the 'PSP/GAME' folder and launch the program from recovery menu; this will re-install SE-C.
If you want to downgrade to another version, download the generic downgrader from Dark_AleX and place it in the 'PSP/GAME' folder along with the official Sony updater file (named 'UPDATE.PBP') and launch the program from recovery menu; this will downgrade your PSP to whatever firmware version the update file is.

i have brick too...but i use recovery mode and now working 2.71se-c again :)
now try again, mine worked perfectly after reflashing. make sure you have 3.0*1*. and dump all. just read the directions, because this worked perfectly for me.
when i use recovery menu it says cannot find UPDATE.PBP can you be more especific? i used a 1.50 PBP and 2.71 PBP (named UPDATE.PBP) and no one works
argrgr i got it done, only thing dont work for me is iso/cso, i tried that vsh stuff, and it wouldnt work, then i tried returning to 2.71se-c using the guide from the site i got from the read me me, and i couldnt get the file i needed :*(
ok, uhm, if u got all those stuff in game150, those need to go in the reg folder, named "game" thats why in the R. menu it says psp/game/recivery/eboot.pbp, ur update should be called eboot.pbp, im having problems too, cuz i couldnt get data.dxar file, i got it, but when i ran it again it said the dtata.dxar file was currupted. i dk i still need help too, but for ur part, thats how u do it.
for now this is kinda useless. the webbrowser is usefull, and the only thing we get for having 3.01 is the mp3 animations.

just reinstall se-c by setting it up again and running it. unless, you have not touched anything, not even added prx's, then you can go ahead and install it. but, just reinstall it, it takes like 2 mins. then the 3.01 mod takes like another 2 mins. So, what the hey, go ahead and install it.
WTF MAN =_= i thought it worked...... then for some reason none of my emulators work....... iso's dont show up....... camura icon is there and the other things are there too from 3.01...... system info says 2.71 for some odd reason O_0 (thought it should say 2.71 SE-C) AND I CANT DOWNGRADE IT =_=................................................... someone help me.......
aight, emulators/eboots are sort of hard to use. you need to rip the sfo from like the 2.71 irshell and replace it with the eboots you want to use. scratch the first sentence, it seems hard, but it's not. iso's, u need the vshmain.prx from 2.71+ and put it under seplugins and make a vsh.txt. then goto recovery mode and and enable that and also goto advanced, advanced again and select use plain modules. then, they will show up. also, it just says 2.71. idk, why but it doesn't matter

Funny Response.... I do have to give you props for what you have done. but i have to agree with most of the Homebrew community. This is not SE material yet. but keep up the good work and hopefully we can see some more updates for this.
You have to extract the sfo file from a 2.71 eboot game like irshell 3.00. then, plug that into the eboot you want to use. use like pbp extractor or something. it's pretty easy.
Hey the Generic downgrade will now work in a SE firmware only try to downgrade using the recovery menu.

Just use the recovery to reload the 1.5 firmware. i bricked my psp to... After the recovery i was back up and going again.
I bricked my psp trying to install the 3.01 SE..... I Fix it just by holding the right triger button for the recovery option....before no time i was back at 1.5...
My 1.50 w/ devhook 3.02 FW is just fine.
