Share UMD Games With This Exploit |
Ó

1. Fire up a 1.50 PSP (Cause you need to use Ahman's iR Shell for this).
2. Load your handheld with a UMD supporting Game Sharing and an UPLOAD.DAT file inside (you'll find out later why). He tried using the Namco Battle Museum.
3. Run iR Shell (link below) and access the following directories:
- Open the UMD Folder (press Square twice to get to ms0:/ and then press Cross on "..", then go into disc0:/)
- Inside of the UMD folder, go into /PSP_GAME
- Find the /USRDIR folder and open it
- Inside, choose DAT folder
- Copy UPLOAD.DAT to your memory stick (L+Square, then Select to copy the file. Navigate to ms0:/ and press L+Select to Paste the file to the root of your memory stick.)
6. Once the file is renamed, select it in iR Shell and press X to run it.
7. If everything was done correctly, the game should start minus the UMD.
This is quite a great find, especially when one of you doesn't have the UMD with them. All you have to do is follow the said process and take the game home with you, without having to borrow the UMD copy itself (removing the age-old "Give me back my game, we're not friends anymore" scenario). For now we haven't checked to see what Game Sharing applicable games can be used with this (we wanted to share it with you guys first), and if you find more games applicable to this other than the one mentioned above, please let us know in the comments.
IndianCheese also provided us a video (link below) of him actually accessing/running the said game via Memory Stick. A word of warning though, please avoid sharing any UPLOAD.DAT files anywhere on QJ.net (link form or otherwise). As you can see we won't host any of the UPLOAD.DAT file for any game.

It's nice to see new things being discovered. I'm wondering how many titles this works on though..
WhooHOoo...
First :)
wow, so anyone know games that use gamesharing?
by now i spose u know ur not, but i just like to say, there is absolutly no novelty in being 1st poster in anything
it works on burnout legends i think
I can't get it working with burnout, if i leave the burnout disk in, it just loads the UMD game, if i don't have the burnout disk in, it just loads to a grey screen.
Just tried it on Breath of Fire III.
The sharing file is under disc0:psp_game/usrdir/usa/sharing
Its also not called upload, it's bof3gs.bin
That said, it doesn't work for breath of Fire anyway, It just gives a black screen.
..because this just appears to be a more complicated way to do Game Sharing.
Gameshares are stored in the RAM and as soon as you leave it it's deleted and you can't play it until someone sends you it again. This lets you copy the gameshare, save it on the memory stick and play it whenever you want.
I can confirm that this method works with my Australian copy of Fired Up
1st...
Or you can use an iso....
This has been around for ages. I remember using it to run v1.0 eboots on a v1.5 without kxploiting them. Its handy if you've written or installed an app that you want ur friend to try, but they haven't installed. Just rename any eboot.pbp to upload.dat, and gameshare it to them. I imagined ppl using this to wireless gain acces to ppl's psp's by gamesharing a trojan horse to them, lol
For gamesharing you always need just 1 UMD. I tried it with a friend, with Burnout. I had the disk, and started the gameshare mode, he just wnt to the gameshare icon on the PSP's menu et volia, that's it. Whats the big deal about this ? Or can u use this to transfer whole games ?
yeah...umm, it wouldnt really be called gamesharing if both psp's needed the umd now would it? i played burnout with a friend (who had the umd) as well using game sharing.
PSP gamesharing is a temporary thing, it only lasts till you exit it. This is like a permenant gameshare.
syphon filter dark res. does not work with this. it just starts to lad then black screen then psp shuts off.
you guys have to remember the game most likely can't be like a 2.60 game or something. that's why some won't load.
Frogger seems to work. It is under USRDIR/Download. Also, i'm not sure about the fired up. Where do you get that one. Anyways, the frogger one is great. Also, so you don't get confused you can always name them something like Frogger.bin, namco.bin etc.
Thsi method works with the japanese version of Star Soldier
!!!
way to help people pirate!
the best thing to do is go to blockbuster and rent a psp game and see if it works. if it doesn't, send it back and get a new one. if it does still send it back and try other games but u will be keeping that game. which is pointless bcuz all of the psp games really suck.
i can only save the gameshare versions of games.... why now? most games that gameshare usually require more than one player to play! for instance, i can start the gameshare version of fired up.... so? nobody else is around to play it with me! and if they are, they most likely have the full version to gameshare anyway. the only thing this is usefull for is for demo gameshares like loco roco and star soldier.
arg i did this about 4 months ago using FA++
my tread (http://www.psp-media.nl/software/2885-unofficial-game.html)
does anybody know of any good umd dumpers? fastloaders good, but it dosn't dump to iso format
1.Devhook 0.42
2.Link2.1 pre22
3.daxziso 0.62
4.X-flash v10
5.IR shell 1.6
6.AFKIM v2 (instant messenger MSN...)
7.PSPradio 0.38+
8.Snes9xTYL
9.Dgen 1.60
10.Fileassistant
and also 2 more nice PSPXTI 1.0.6 (calculator) and Jpeg Viewer (for check photo) PMP for movie would be nice if u like see movie on ur psp but not me
isnt this pretty similar to isos... so so sory dont ban me if this is not allowed then delet it, this is just my opinion, but yeah... isn't it pretty similar to isos? its going to make me pay more for games... but nice concept indeed
how do you play two player on socom us navy seal on two player with gamesharing i did burn out but not socom
"I can't get it working with burnout, if i leave the burnout disk in, it just loads the UMD game, if i don't have the burnout disk in, it just loads to a grey screen. "
same problem here...cept my screen goes black. I'm using my friend's copy of burnout so we could do multiplayer w/o having to do the gameshare upload but if i ahve the disc out, black screen...disc in, it loads the umd.
(which is interesting in itself because it's loading a game that requires 1.52 on a 1.5 fw w/o using devhook)
