PSP homebrew: 5.01 for 5.00 M33 Easy Installer |
Ó
Note that this application isn't really for everyone, chances are you don't need it because you already have your FW (and CFW) updates in place. But for those who do need some assistance, here are some notes from Mr. Shizzy:
This is nothing more than a simple installer to apply the SONY 5.01 Firmware fixes to 5.00 m33. (There have been safety checks put in place, to prevent someone flashing this to the wrong firmware...) Some people don't like manually flashing their PSP, so maybe they will find this helpful.
All set? Here's the video to demonstrate how easy it is to install:
The more notes are included in the download page and in the readme file in the downloadable archive. If all else fails, you can contact the developer by visiting the forum thread linked below.

system info still says 5.00 m33 but i am allowed back into the playstation store. thanks :)
works on slim too
"n00b proof installer" Sure about that? So "n00bs" know what to do with a rar file? And if they manage to extract it: ms0? Recovery? Kernel?
i have a slim 5.00m33-2 & installed this & when i try to go where i need to sign in it say's that i need the latest firmware...HELLOOOO...i have 5.00m33-2 then whats the latest firmware ? this sh*t dont work
do not use this garbage. you'll be screwed if you try to update to the DAX 5.00 m33-2.
ur right this is total garbage :)
You need to turn off the M33 network update.
You do have to disable m33 update. And I have 5.00m33-2. .ptf theme files work! : ) Thank you FreePlay.
I suppose its because I installed it AFTER I updated to 5.00 M33-2 regardless, it ran, say's succcessful but whenever I try to login to PSstore it says I need to update to the newest FW. Tried disabling M33 network updates via recovery menu and still have the same error. so, any ideas?
and is not easy
In recovery mode you need to Disable M33 Network Update and Enable Use version.txt then PSN will load.
can someone who's got it to work tell me if I can upgrade to 5.00m33-3 after installing this correctly and what are the practical benefits use that this has thanks in advaz my peeps^_^
just did it, no problems
i have 5.00 M33-3. i ran this from my GAME folder and it gives me a message: "Update Has Already Been Installed. Returning To XMB" how can i be installed? the psn error about the memstick space still occurs.
