Oh Yeah! PAL games work properly on 3.10 OE-A

Well 3.10 Oh yeah! (our pet name for OE-A) is out now, and Muratcan found something interesting that wasn't explicitly mentioned on any changelogs. PAL games now work properly on 3.10 OE-A. Muratcan was loading up Tekken 2 on his PSP when he noticed something different about it. He writes,

I remember earlier today I played it on 3.03 OE-C and it didn't fit the whole screen, it was a little off. But I just loaded it up now after upgrading to 3.10 OE-A and it fits perfectly.

A couple more tests show Tomb Raider 1 and Simpsons Wrestling to be working fine as well.

When Sony patched the PSP to 3.10, added support for more games was one of the intended effects in preparation for the PS3 launch in Europe. An unintended effect (or was it?!) was that custom firmware can now also get the same benefits of the patch.

While people are testing this out, have a go at it yourself. We'd like to know what games work and which ones still have issues, so don't hesitate to make a note of it on our forums, alright? A running list would benefit the homebrew community greatly as more stuff gets uncovered prior to the PS3's European launch.

if you press the home button while game is running more options appear such as a zoom mode in the screen settings black adjustment and volume adjustment and you can change from controller 1 to 2

Sony is good for something! the new Popstation options are exactly what I was after, the zoom mode now fills the screen properly without distorting the game unlike before when it was stretched horizontally....

And Gran Turismo 1 PAL is centred on the screen!!!!!!

If anybody knows where to get these, find a ppf file for the game of your reigon that removes the copy protection on a straight ripped ISO. use a PPF applier, and attatch the patch to your ISO. now it'll work.

You all do know that most games that XRASH at a certain point is completly fixable right?

Through hacking that is.

Take tomb raider 1 RIP, it crashed at level 5, but thru hacking you can get AROUND the crash.

Or a game that boots up, but as soon as the cinamatic starts, it crashes...well, thhru hacking with CheatMaster/CWCheat you can force a "Skip Cinemas" code allowing you to play the game. i do this all the time myself. i dunno if this is against QJ rules, but oh well, if you guys wanna learn how to create hacks, in which allow you to play soem of your games that crash mid game etc etc, then you can PM me about it on my forums, With GAME NAME and version, and WHERE it crashes at, then we can work on a fix for yah.

Which version of Popstation did you use to convert them? If you used the version that came with 3.02 then they won't work anymore. If you used the version that came with 3.03 there should be no problem...What games stuffed you for you?

BTW, the 3.03 plugin to use 3.02 eboots no longer works either.

You need to reset the psp to default settings via the settings menu in the xmb.
