New PSP modchip around the corner? |

Adding to the hectic day, we have news that there might be another modchip in the works, coming out soon. While not much is known at this point, the webpage lists the supposed features in the modchip:
- Flash your PSP using the internal USB Port
- No additional USB Port required
- Latest ACTEL ProASIC 3 technology
- Low power consumption
- Works on all available PSP versions incl. TA-082 and TA-086
- Custom BIOS with a lot of cool additional features
- Easy to install
- Just a bit of soldering skills required, no hardcore installation
Another bit of info I noticed is that Gamefreax had/has been supplying Mathieulh, Dark_AleX, and Yoshihiro with hardware supplies. While I would have doubted the claims of these guys, the amount of info and links here point that this isn't just another fake, and that we could be having another modchip soon. Stay tuned as we'll have the latest updates and info on this bit of news. Thanks to Jeff, Jordan, and Sam for the tip!

Is it possible to just add more flash space? This would help people that are REALLY into homebrew... What with their risk of flash-bricking is virtually gone.
LOOK on the files section, on the newly released homebrew, is should say Homebrew Enabler for 3.03 "duff"
I think we all know a PSP modchip is just useless, well only if you could unbrick with that thing, but otherwise the soft hacks are just the same I never thoug about a softmod when I had my PSOne, but since the xbox softmods, now I see it's a new generation of chipless systems :D

Will I be able to install this if I allready have the UP installed? I mean like desoldering the UP and put this thingy in or will there be adapters avaible? BTW I'm getting pretty sick of my UP wich requires me to hold my [L] button every time I start my PSP cuz I wanna use 3.03 OE-C and my USB connector is getting pretty messed up... And Epsilon BIOS seems discontinued...
WOW, this is great news, however, there is absolutly no point of this, with a solution to downgrading every psp to 1.5 and back to 0e-c just around the corner, there is no need for this. When the U.P was came out, it was something everyone hyped up, but how many people bought it? very few, why, becuase we already had a solution to homebrew, piracy and the latest firmware, it was called devhook. Now this hard mod has come out, but we already hav oe-c, how much more can you do with this device, not much. The only logical reason i could justify this coming out would be for people who have bricked psps laying around. I am all for moving ahead and making the psp a better device, but i cant see how we cant possibly do this with custom firmwares. All i can say is you guys are all a bunch of idiots. See you all in hell.

this can brick your psp it was a leak from fanjita i have 3.03 oe c but i tried it and it said save data corrupted so do not worry

The file does exist, yes. It was leaked and is a bricker. It was removed for that purpose. Sit tight.

@ Above comment It works. Its so unstable it has even bricked one guys UP Modchip and Fanjitas UP Modchip. The modchip is bricked. So no recovery is possible. But no worries, Fanjit has many PSP's, one for every firmware version if I remember correctly.

is the noobz site down cause of the 303 HEN? cause i haven't been able to get on it for almost half a day. i just tried fanjita's ans it's also down.
This is a bad time to release this because they are so close to downgrading 3.03 which means everyone will get down to 1.5 and up to Dax's custom fw's where you dont really need a mod chip because the custom fw's have everything you need. I guess the only people who would need this are the ones that have a brick.
Homebrew developers would also make good use of it...

I'd like to get it in case I ruined the 3.03 OE-C firmware and the recovery didn't work if the 1.50 subset was destroyed due to bad flashing.
Happened to me, while using cintro!!
1. For fixing bricks. 2. Easy-ish soldering job, apparently. 3. More custom-ness. 4. FEAR-FREE FLASHING. No more worrying if you've screwed something up. Fixing is a case of plugging in the USB port now.

That happened to my friend, he was planning on using the new 3.03 downgrader since he still has a good 3.03 flash, but it's gay it says you shouldn't use the 3.03 downgrader if you have downgraded your PSP before and he used to have 2.71 and downgraded.

This might sound good for the PSP that are bricked... but useless for others, cuz downgrader exists.... Like the Undiluted that got ownd when the downgrader was released.

Well those custom firmwares by Dark_Alex wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the mod chip, so show your appreciation for the classic and new mod chips.
He can you just can't downgrade twice from 3.03
